This book had too many moments of "no way that would happen", but I still really, really liked it. Theo's backstory was heartbreaking. The romance was sweet.

2.5 stars for me. This book was cute and definitely had some cute parts for me. I would have loved it as a teenager but my tastes have changed a bit as I’ve gotten older. But it was a good story about falling in love for the first time. Not my favorite but it was a quick read.

I thought that Rose was a good MC for her age and it felt realistic to some of the feelings I had as a teenager. I thought that the storyline with Theo fell a little flat especially after you find out why he’d run away and was hiding. Also, I don’t love YA books where all the adults are just not there most of the time. That isn’t real life. I did like the second half of the book better than the first though!

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a review.

This was a great contemporary debut! I loved how the author wrote about the struggles of these two characters as they matured and dealt with issues such as abusive and absentee parents, amongst other things.

I think the first part of the book earns 5 stars and the second half earns two. It drew me in right away and I really wanted to know why he was on the run. Halfway through you learn and from there I started to wonder what the plot was. I could describe the first half easily but there wasn't much to say about the second part. The characters are sweet but they won't stick with me.

Nowhere Else But Here is a cute and romantic book. While the story is a little absurd and implausible, with the main character hiding a boy who is missing in her room because she likes him, this is also teenagers we're talking about. Being one myself I see how they act and not everything they do makes sense.
I love the characters and the development. My main fear with this book, and most realistic fiction books I read, is that it'll stay very surface level. It's a lot easier to put a traumatic past on a character that's hiding magic then on an everyday average kid and make it sound believable. This author does an amazing job of making the characters feel more then what they show or say. It's not one of those "I'm going to say what I feel" type of books and I really appreciate that.
As someone who reads mostly fantasy book I felt like this was really refreshing and it's a feel good book. It's not super emotional and doesn't make me want to scream. It's definitely a nice break from reality and from mythical lands.

2.5 stars. I think I would have enjoyed this more had it been written for an older audience. It was one of my favorite tropes. Bad boy falls for the good girl. However Theo isn't really a "bad boy" by my standards and all the secrets and mischief these two get into together wasn't really what I call scandalous. It was still very cutesy and enjoyable and I definitely would have loved it when I was younger maybe just starting out high school. It was be far a cheesey contemporary TEEN romance novel.

I sadly had to make this as DNF. It sounded so good, but was just not for me :( I SO wish it was!! The cover is gorgeous though. It would make a good movie.

This is a great YA book with enough depth to the backstory to make it more than a light read. Characters are believeable and have depth. Readers will find themselves hooked quickly and rooting for them as they make their way through bumps and detours they encounter.

Nowhere else but here is a very sweet young adult romance. Everyone will fall in love with Theo and Rose. Great story that I couldn't put down.

Thank you Black & White Publishing for the ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book and the characters. I did think the reason for Rose’s need for control was going to be much darker but I’m glad it wasn’t. This book made me smile.

I found this book to be an extremely quick read. I wanted to enjoy it more than I did, but a few things were missing to make me really enjoy the book.

Things I liked:
1. The opening scene isn't something I've encountered before. It hooked me and kept me reading.
2. It wasn't just a fluff/romance story. There were actual real-life issues that are touched upon and it helps add another dimension to the storyline.
3. Overall, the characters are likeable and read naturally.

Things I disliked:
1. I honestly liked everything just fine except for some aspects of the plot. Much of the plot just seems unbelievable. When I learned why Theo is hiding, I was just disappointed. I was expecting something more, and I felt let down. We learn more on the topic later and this helped me get through the book, but I still felt disappointed after the interesting beginning.

Overall, Nowhere Else But Here was a quick, cute read. I rooted for the characters and thought the novel brought up some important topics. The romance was cute but the plot wasn't too complex and didn't draw me in like I hoped it would.

I really enjoyed this book it starts off with a missing person Theo. The whole town is searching for him when he suddenly appears in our main character Rose's bedroom. He begs Rose for her help to stay hidden and she reluctantly agrees. Rose is not good at keeping secrets but there is a reason that Theo came to her so she does. I liked the banter between the two main characters and I liked the way that Theo always found a way to make Rose blush. The two characters even though they are as different as can be start to fall for each other
when they see a different side than they are used to. I really like the characters in the book they were quite funny and the story line was a nice simple read. I enjoyed how the two main characters interacted with each other but at the same time I was wondering why Theo was hiding out in the first place. Did he see something? Did he do something? Was he hiding from someone who was after him? What could it be? It was a nice to have that as well as a feel good romance story. This book has something for everyone that's for sure. I think the best part was how the story really enveloped the reader and you were immersed in the story line.

I didn't really know what to expect going into this one, and the first chapter throws you for a loop, but what starts off as a suspicious (possible) murder mystery, turns into a teen romance between a boy and a girl who get a second chance to be together.

When Rose opens her door to find Theo asking for help, after he's been missing for two days, she isn't sure how to react. She lets him in hoping to get to the bottom of all this, but instead she finds herself pulled toward him. He's always been the quiet boy, her chemistry partner, the boy nobody really knows. Now he's in her bedroom hiding out ... until the two can no longer hide it.

Adorable from start to finish, this story will have you remembering your first love (and maybe thinking about some what-if's in your life) as you follow Rose and Theo while they figure out the secrets of teenage romance. 3.5 stars!

Some triggers for abuse.

<i>Thank you NetGalley, the author and the publisher for my free ARC in exchange for my honest review.</i>

3.75/5

<i>"Breathe, Rose," Theo whispered into my ear, and I realised that it was him I was holding on to; I was clutching him like I was drowning and he was the life jacket keeping me from sinking below the water. "Just breathe."</i>

Meet Theo and Rose. In the beginning of the book, Theo has gone missing and suddenly shows up at Rosa's house, asking for her help. Rosa is taken back, as she has been nothing more than his chemistry lab partner. So why would he turn to her for help?

And that's how the story begins. Staying spoiler free, the rest of the book follows the events and ramifications of Rose's decision to help Theo.

<i>Theo and I were like two ships that were used to passing each other without any interaction, but now we had crashed into one another and we were trying desperately not to sink.</i>

This book is cute. Like really cute. Rose is wonderful and sweet and learns to come out of her shell, while Theo, who is dreamy and damaged and unpredictable, is a great foil. Their scenes are adorable and funny and charming.

Plot-wise, there's not a ton going on. Most of the conflict stems from characters refusing to just talk to each other or share important information, which then leads to a lack of trust and hurt feelings. However, I honestly didn't mind too much. I loved Theo and Rose so much that I still found myself enjoying this story even without much happening outside of their relationship.

<i>And, ultimately, I was letting him break down the walls that had taken me for ever to build up so he could worm his way into my hear, capturing it and claiming it for his own.</i>

It is hard to buy the premise of this novel. Rose likes a boy, Theo, so when he goes missing she decides to let him hide out in her room - for days. And her parents don't notice - even though she and Theo are not quiet. Reality check please...

I found this book boring, I really tried to give it a chance and even skipped a few pages to get to the interesting parts but there were no interesting parts. At least not for me.

The characters were so monotone but bizarrely and paradoxically overly dramatic as well. It didn't gel for me. For instance the MC talks about dull nonsense (i.e. How she doesn't know the hero) for pretty much most of the first chapter but decides to let him stay with her when he shows up randomly at her door. Their connection, the romance, the drama ...it all felt contrived. Unfortunately the story just didn't evoke any interest in me. Some reviews have mentioned it could have been better had their have been some 'past' chapters with the MC/hero interacting so we can invest and have insight into their later connection and I agree this may have made the story more cohesive. *shrug*

I really enjoyed this book. It’s Rachel’s debut novel. It’s a very cute quick read.

Theo and Rose’s story is unique because Theo is a runaway and ends up at Rose’s door. He asks for her to help him. In doing so she keeps him in her room.

Rose is a girl that’s in high school that has absent parents who leave her to take care of her self because there always away for work.Theo is a mysterious guy in her class and to Rose and she want to get to know him more.

I enjoyed the way that these two came together. Although I wish there was more backstory to them. I felt like that was lacking a little.

Rose and Theo are polar opposites, but they say opposites attract. When Rose agrees to help Theo in a difficult situation, she had no idea she would end up falling for him. But can they develop a real relationship with all the secrets they both are keeping?

Nowhere Else But Here is a cute romance, but it seemed to just drag on too long. I also wasn't on board with the overall message about secrets and lying. Theo lies to Rose repeatedly and she forgives him every time. Rose also lies to her parents without there ever being much in the way of consequences. There isn't enough here to make it a good recommendation for high school students.
