I've Been Watching You by KA Richardson.
The Forensic Files Book 1.
While taking a course in Digital Forensics she meets the charming Jacob Tully, an ex-army war veteran struggling with his past.
While the team investigate the apparent hit and run of a care home worker, Ben suspects there is more to it. As events unfold she discovers the connection to a series of murders much closer to home.
To catch the killer, can she confront the demons from her past?
Will the team piece together the evidence before it’s too late?
A brilliant read. Great story and plot. Gripping from start to finish. 5*.

The hunt is on for a twisted killer and this will be their deadliest challenge yet.

This is a book of two halves - one the one side it is a love story and on the other there is so much violence it is not for the faint-hearted. Just when you are holding your breath to deal with the frightening plot Ben's relationship issues and her attraction to Jacob take over. There is plenty of description and the characters are well explored. There are twists and turns galore. Three and a half stars for me.
Many thanks to Netgalley/K.A. Richardson/Bloodhound Books for a digital copy of this title. All opinions expressed are my own.

Loved the twists in this book, and found it hard to put down! As a lover of anything "forensics", I'll definitely be recommending this one and reading the next in the series.

Gripping British based novel with believable characters. Enjoyed reading and immersing myself into a thrill based experience. Loved the characters from sassy aunt to lead characters that held my attention and had me rooting for them. The author had me from the first page and engaged my imagination with just enough whodunnit to wake up my winter slump. I will be reading any other books in this series and cannot wait to start my next journey. Thanks for the opportunity NetGalley.

What an introduction to a series…. This is the first in what I hope to be a very long line of books… We meet CSI Investigator Ben Cassidy, a single mother to 4 year old grace and also battling with the physical and emotional scars left by an encounter with an horrific psychopath.

With investigating a case so close to home, we are taken on a rollercoaster of a ride on the hunt of a serial killer/killers, this book was graphic, violent, disturbing which are just some of the words I would use to describe it. A real page turner, be prepared for this, you will not want to put it down and it will make the hairs on her neck stand up.

Already looking forward to the next instalment. Many thanks to Netgalley and Bloodhound Books for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a well written police procedural/thriller, and typically British, it involves a lot of the personal life of the policemen and -women. In this case, however, it is an intricate and necessary part of the action, and makes a very good plot and story.
Also somewhat typical, is the dependence on many coincidences in order for everything to work, and that's not so good.
Still, it is a very good read.

Dark, oh so dark and disturbing. You get the creeps right from the start.

Well written and intriguing, this story takes you on a ride. Be prepared to want to throw, cast aside, and even possibly want to burn this book, but also be prepared to keep wanting to read it - just to find out the ending.

Thank you NetGalley and Bloodhound Books for this arc.

This book has gotten good to great ratings so I was excited to get into it. But I got Meh. Must be me, but I found Ben and Jacob really flat like they'd experienced their "traumas" for the sole purpose of being interesting. Most of the other characters fell flat for me too. The plot felt overly contrived and predictable. Almost like a mishmash of Lifetime Dramas. I kept losing interest after about 25 % of the way in. That's usually the point I give up, but in this case I forced myself to finish based on others' reviews. Again, it must be me.

2.5 stars rounded up.

I had to put this book to one side as too many triggers for me. Apart from that what I did read was well written and I will look for another of KA Richardson's books.

Really enjoyed this book and read it in less than a day as I couldn't put it down! The writing style was great and the characters were interesting, especially Ben. I was hooked by the idea of having two killers. The ending was fantastic and I can't wait to read more. I'm presuming this is going to be a series as it's book 1.

** spoiler alert ** #spoileralert

What impressed me a lot about this book was that there were all these seemingly disconnected characters with divergent lives, but somehow they were all interlinked in the end. That and the fact that the antagonist seemed to have a split personality, threw a few red herrings into the reader's path.

I have to tell you, this book caught me unawares on so many levels. It is quite a complex story line, but so well crafted and written. I enjoyed every page.

I would recommend this book to all lovers of thrillers and suspense.

I was glad I finished this novel as I had wanted to quit reading at times, but did not. It was not to my liking as it was too violent and disturbing. It just made my skin crawl some because it was so graphic and creepy. The main character Ben and her friend, Jacob were my favorite ones. They both seemed real and likable. The style of writing was easy to follow, but in the beginning there were too many characters introduced and it was hard to keep up with who was who. I did not think the ending was adequate as it just left you hanging.. There are many grammatical errors in the book, which I hope will be corrected and edited before publishing. I will not be recommending this book to my friends. I was provided this free advance copy from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest and unbiased review. Thank you for the opportunity. This book gets a rating of 3 stars.

I liked much of the book. It was a good story in the main but spoiled for me for a number of reasons. There was a tendency to jump from British English to Americanisms at the drop of a hat. It was annoying. Please stick to one or the other. An example of that was when the author wrote about a character being arrested for DUI and spending time in custody because he was deemed "a flight risk." Neither of those expressions belong to British English or British policing. Believe me - I know.

The plot was actually a tad too complicated. It was confusing at times. I do believe the author could have cut some of the ancillary plot lines and still ended up with a great plot.

Two sadistic killers did not enhance the plot. It was unnecessary.

I also felt there was too much "word-count" material. Verbiage that did not move the story along one iota, but was simply boring. There were also too many issues: try PTSD, rape victims, and cancer for starters. Too much material altogether and it spoiled the book.

It, by no stretch of the imagination, could be described as a page-turner. Book One in a series it may have been. I won't be tempted to read Book Two.

A shame really, as there is much potential in this author's writing.

This is book 1 in a series. The first book in a series always starts a little slower as the author builds the characters and background. It makes the series much better. While working a case, CSI Investigator Ben Cassidy, a single mother, finds evidence that will take the reader on a ride through a serial killer hunt. KA Richardson tells the story in a manner that will find you surprised when the killer is found. If the next books are as good as this one, I'll keep reading as long as she keeps writning.

Ben Cassidy is a crime scene investigator. She also runs an online site for victims of rape and she's s the single mother of a 4-year-old precocious little girl. A victim of rape several years earlier left her almost dead.

While she and her team investigate a hit and run, she finds there are similarities to a number of murders much closer to home. She was meant to die in her attack ... has 'he' come back to rectify that?

While taking a course in Digital Forensics, she meets Jacob Tully, an ex-army war veteran who has his own personal issues, such as PTSD. He has some horrific scars and has to walk with a cane. He's brilliant at his job.

This is a great story premise with much attention paid to the development of the characters. There are surprises and twists and turns that left me reeling. I've been watching you -- Just the thought of being watched while unaware of the watcher sends shivers down my spine.

Many thanks to he author / Bloodhound Books / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. As there was a small cliff hanger, I am really looking forward to the next adventure. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Meet Ben Cassidy a Crime Scene Investigator as she investigates a series of murders a little too close to home.

I loved this book it was a real page turner. Ben is a likeable character and I was really gripped.

My first read of this author was satisfying. IT might have been gory, but the story of the "good guys" helping each other was nice.
