Kid Scientists is a book that my 3rd grader absolutely loves. When asked what it is that she likes about it, her response was that "I like that it is written well and that it has pictures, which makes it easier to understand." We have actually purchased nearly every book in this series, but she is a budding scientist so this is one of her favorites.

I am here for all the books that David Stabler has written and will write in the future. Kid Scientists is no exception. While I was familiar with all the scientists featured in this book, I am sure my students will learn a lot from it once the printed version--which I have already ordered--lands in my classroom library.

This is book that can be gifted to any curious kid in your life. Profiling the lives of scientists who made it big, it tells about Albert Einstein, Marie Curie and Stephen Hawking among 13 others. The anecdotes from each of their lives and the struggles they overcame at various points is inspiring. Illustrations jazz up the book and make it instantly attractive to reluctant readers.

A wonderful introduction to scientists in a range of fields from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds. Hopefully this book will inspire many young people to realise that they can do anything!

Oh I wish this book, or one like it, had been published 10 years ago when my own children were reading at this level! Kid Scientists is the perfect combination of a classroom/bed time read-aloud and an independent reader. I love that author David Stabler chose to represent a variety of scientific fields and and there is diversity among the scientists selected. The illustrations add support and give newer readers an occasional break. As Rachel Carson wrote in her essay, this book will "Help Your Child to Wonder" and is a must-have for home and classroom libraries. Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to preview #KidScientists by David Stabler - I absolutely loved it!

What lead some of the most famous figures in science into their fields of study? In the new book from Quirkbooks, Kid Scientists, the childhoods of some of the biggest influences of the science world are explored in a kid-friendly way.

Kid Scientists is written by David Stabler, with each section gorgeously illustrated by Anoosha Syed. Sally Ride, Steven Hawking, and even Neil deGrasse Tyson are all treated with respect and interest. Keep an eye out for an incredible description of Katherine Johnson (most famously portrayed recently in the film Hidden Figures) and Washington Carver. Kid Scientists is great introduction for kids and a fun refresher for adults. The descriptions and stories are fairly simple, but they are so much fun to read.

Kid Scientists is available October 9th from Quirk Books. I highly recommend it for any kids you want to share a love of science with.

Kid Scientists by David Stabler and Anoosha Syed is a wonderful collection of stories that share the early path of some famous scientists. This is an excellent nonfiction book that would be great upper elementary and middle school students. I enjoyed reading about the ‘young’ scientists.

This book is fill with fun facts about a wide variety of famous scientists, with the focus on their lives as youngsters. You'll find the stories to be motivational and inspirational. Some of the scientists you will find in the book is Benjamin Franklin, Vera Rubin, and Stephen Hawking. Stabler does a good job of covering details of these brilliant scientists and bringing light to the well-known and the not so well-known scientists.

This is an excellent nonfiction book that would be great upper elementary and middle school students. I especially recommend this book as a resource for any science classroom. I enjoyed reading about the ‘young’ scientists. Especially Jane Goodall and her search to explore all the things she was curious about as child!

4.5 Stars
A diverse collection of mini-bios of some of the greatest scientific minds that roughly covers the last couple of centuries. Just like the other books in this series, the scientists are from different backgrounds and cultures and are loosely grouped by subject. There's plenty of amusing artwork and a good selection for further reading at the end. A good choice for middle grades.

Anche gli scienziati sono stati bambini.

Bambini speciali?

Stupendo, come i precedenti. <3

Wonderful nonfiction text that talks about a variety of kid scientists. I like how people of color and women were included in this text.
