Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

Between the Lies by Michelle Adams is a fast paced, well written thriller about a young woman who's lost her memory in a car crash and doesn't recognise her family.

This book started out great and i was really enjoying it. However it seemed to lose its way after a bit and I struggled through it.

An interesting premise but the story was a slow burner and after an interesting start dissipated, I struggled to stay interested the characters are all unlikeable and I must confess I didn't really care what happened because of it. The twists started to get revealed they were predictable and unrealistic.

Thank-you Headline & Netgalley for sending me a copy in exchange for an open & honest review.

Imagine waking up in hospital, not knowing who you are and what happened to you? This sets the premise of a thrilling read from beginning to end! Recommended.

For some reason, one of my favourite genres of psychological thrillers is memory loss. I like it when the main character does not seem to remember anything and we, as the reader, experience the journey with them.

This book did not disappoint.

It was such a great psychological thrillers with twists and turns throughout and I raced through it.

It was soo good

This is a modern thriller. I found it an interesting read and enjoyed it. It's quite an unusual story.

I can not think of anything more terrifying than waking up in a hospital and being unable to remember who you are or where you are, with the memory totally clean… That’s what happens to Chloe Daniels, she doesn’t remember anything at all, simply what the police and her family tell her. What had happened on the fateful night? Was she alone?
Since the first page of the book I was totally hooked on the story, who is Chloe and why her parents are so weird and don’t allow her to go out? Everything seems quite strange, and that the father is trying to make therapy with Chloe to make her recover it smells really bad.
Chloe is scared to discover the truth but at the same time wants to know what really has happened, her character is brave and I liked that she didn’t stay at home simply waiting for the answers to come, she started to ask the questions to know the truth, making her family start to uncovering some of the secrets they were keeping from her. She will not like what she will discover, but if she wants to recover her memory she has to know the truth, all the truth, even it if hurts.
I liked very much this book, it was quite easy to discover the truth about the case and what really happened, I suppose this is the problem of reading so many books, that you start making you own plot since the beginning, and sometimes you get it right! 😉
If you are searching for a quick read with a few twists and very addictive don’t doubt to read Between the Lies, you will love it!
Ready to face the truth?

Wow, what can I say? I really love a good psychological suspense thriller and this was no exception. What would you do if you woke up in a hospital bed, not knowing who anyone is or anything about your life prior to then?
Chloe Daniels wants to piece things together but there are so many lies flying about from family and other people that she thought she could trust how is she ever going to get to the truth.
All the way through the book I thought I had pieced it together only for a twist and then I was back to square one.
When I did get towards the end of the book I did finally guess, but wow I was not expecting what happened at all.

Between The Lies certainly kept me on the edge of my seat and it was fantastically written.
I will definitely be reading more from Michelle Adams in the future!

My first Michelle Adams book but won't be my last!

After a rather creepy 4 paragraphs we start in at the scene of a car crash and from there we follow Chloe's attempt to remember who she is, who her family are and what happened when she wakes after a month in a coma. Her father is a doctor who uses hypnotherapy to help her deal with her trauma, but she doesn't trust him. She learns not to trust anyone. There are many twists and turns in this psychological thriller. Just when you think you know what is happening the story takes another turn. A good read.

Many thanks to Netgalley/Michelle Adams/Headline for a digital copy of this title. All opinions expressed are my own.

I haven’t read a perfect psychological thriller in a while; they have all been a bit meh. Finally, with this second book from Michelle Adams, I have read my first 5-star book in a while!
It was fast-paced, and I couldn’t put it down. It is one of those books where you are pining your eyes open with sticks at 2 am to keep on reading!
The secrets that are being kept from her feel so real, and the lies just keep coming and coming! It’s quite frustrating but in a good book way!
With each lie that is revealed it keeps you hooked to find out what is going on, why is everyone lying to her? However, you feel her helplessness as she is recovering and can’t get out there and find out for herself.
The book is really well written, you think you have spotted a plot hole, but then it’s filled swiftly, and nothing is left unturned!
A brilliant read that I definitely recommend and I need to go and read her first book now!

Between the lies is the first book I've read by Michelle Adams. I enjoyed Michelle's writing and how she could even make you care for the most flawed character. I felt sad for Chloe and the way it which her family were lying to her. Waking up from a coma and not knowing much about yourself or your life would distress anyone but to not even have your family be honest with you would make anyone crumple. I didn't expect some of the twists and turns and this made it a gripping book especially in the second half of the book.

Thanks goes to net galley and the publishers for providing me with a free copy in exchange for a honest review.

What a start, we are flung straight into action with what appears to be a car crash and someone trapped in the car. Chloe wakes up in hospital surrounded by family not knowing who she is or what happened to her. She has been in a coma for over a month!!

Back at her parents Rectory with her sister Jess, she has a feeling that they do not want her to get her memory back. Can she trust these people who say they are family but whom she cannot remember.

This is a great book with lots of twists along the way, it was like a spider web of lies, each lie woven tightly only to reveal another layer of lies underneath!! I could not tell who was actually telling the truth which added to the mystery.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found myself fully immersed in the story.

Will definitely be looking out for Michelle Adams other book “ My Sister”

First book I have read from this author, I was hooked from the very beginning and it held my interest throughout.

Interesting characters that I soon got involved with and an excellent page turner with a good twist at the end which I never guessed.

Well done Michelle I look forward to number three.

Thank you to Netgalley and Headline Publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this excellent book.

Wow! I was totally hooked by this, and it made me really wonder how I would cope with something as harrowing as this happening! Not like Chloe does I suspect!

I thought this was much better than her previous one (something about sisters?) Although I also enjoyed that. It's taken me a while to read but that's because I'm slow. I thought the characters were really well developed.

Michelle Adam’s is fast becoming one of my favourite authors for her fabulous descriptions of dysfunctional families. I’ve always been fascinated with books about memory loss and what it’s possible for the brain to forget, so this book really appealled to me.

This book gripped me from the start as it soon became obvious that something wasn’t right. The house that Chloe finds herself in seems very impersonal and neglected which struck me as odd for a supposed family home. The isolated location for the house and her family’s insistence that she stay inside sent a shiver down my spine as I started to wonder what was going on.

Chloe was my favourite character especially as the story progresses and we learn more and more about her. He fear and confusion was almost palpable at times as she tried to unravel the mystery of what actually happened. Her emotions and guilt about the accident was very emotional and I definitely felt myself tearing up at times reading about it. I admire her determination to discover what really happened despite lots of opposition not least the fact that she couldn’t remember much.

This was a fast paced, gripping read that I really enjoyed reading. The author cleverly let’s the story and secrets unravel making this a very intiguing read that is hard to put down. The chapters are fairly short making it a fairly easy read though I found I flew through the chapters promising myself just one more then I’ll sleep.

This is Michelle Adam’s second book and I really look forward to reading more from her in the future. If you like unsettling, brilliantly paced and gripping books you’ll love this!

Huge thanks to Ann Cater and Headline for inviting me onto the blog tour and for my copy of this book.
