I found this slightly too short and rushed. A great premise for a story and the characters were enjoyable but could definitely be expanded on!

Nice change reading a short story, would actually love for this to be a full length novel developed in more detail. Have read things by this author before & never disappoints. Thanks for the preview.

Short and not so sweet..........

Danielle and her sister, Susie, have quite the tale to tell here. They have been raised by a doting mother and are products of a non-existent father who has been out of the picture for years. Both girls seem to compete for all the oxygen in the room.

That pretty much sums it up........until Danielle marries Simon. Ol' Simon, according to our girl Danielle, is trying to do her in. Enter: Susie who may or may not be on Danielle's side.

The Killing Type almost killed me with its abruptness. Details were stark and an escalating anxiety rise was completely lacking. The assignment was probably to fill in a storyline within the required 50 pages. But even as a short story, it didn't deliver. This one should have been given a wide berth in book form instead. Ya just can't pack a watermelon in a zip-lock bag, folks.

I enjoyed this though felt it was a bit rushed. I didn’t expect it to be quite so short! I could actually imagine this being a regular novel with the storyline expanded.

My first time reading Jane Corry & I’m looking forward to reading more.

What a compact, fast and exciting read this was. I had to read it a second time to appreciate the absolute brilliance of the story.

I started The Killing Type knowing it was a short story, but I didn’t realize just how short the story would be. The story is about two sisters, Susie and Danielle, with a strained relationship; however Susie is the first person Danielle turns to when convinced her husband is trying to murder her. No one believes Danielle’s claims, not even the police. Flash forward a bit, someone dies, and the only question is… was it an accident—or murder? I was truly impressed such a compelling-twisty story came in right at 50 pages. This was my first experience reading Corry, and I was not disappointed!

I liked this short story. A good plot line. Even though I know the story, I think this would be great if the author wanted to develop it into a longer novel and really develop all the characters and their personalities plus backstories.

Very good follow up to My Husband's Wife - left me wanting more! Looking forward to the next from Jane Corry.

This was a fantastic read with brilliant characters.  I had no idea it would be like it was. Even though this was a short read I read in one sitting and I loved it. Can't wait to read more from Jane Corry.  5*.

Definitely well worth a read.

Wow! Short but sweet. I definitely would love to have read this as a full fledged book! The tale of two sisters mixed up with a controlling man has somewhat of a very twisted tale. I just want more of it to read please!

A interesting short story even though it felt a little rushed.

I love this author's books.
Keep you gripped right to the end.
The twist at the end was so unexpected.
Found quite few scarey bits.
Usually I'm bit wary of thrillers.
But this is authors brilliant

A short shocking twisted tale of two sisters. This actually would have been compelling as a fully fleshed out book.

This was my first (accidental) foray in to the world of short stories and this really is a very short story.

Susie and Danielle are sisters who don't really get on very well; however, they become ensconced in a web of lies with it becoming difficult to know who to believe.

The story covers a lot of time, very quickly... 4 days later, 4 months later, 6 months later etc. Whilst I appreciate that this was required due to the brief nature of the story, it didn't really help the reader engage with the narrative or get to know the characters. This book covers quite a lot of tough/ gritty issues which felt a bit rushed within 50 pages.

Having said that, it is definitely worth a read and I would have 100% read the whole book if it had been a full length story rather than a short story - I believe that there was more than enough within the storyline to create a whole novel. I look forward to reading more Jane Corry novels.

I have really enjoyed Janes other books and I think if this was further developed into a full novel it could be up there with them. It felt a little short and a bit rushed.

Pretty good but ended kind of abruptly. The story was interesting but the end was disappointing. Some good twists though.

I have read ‘My Husband’s Wife’ and ‘The Dead Ex’ by Jane Corry and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. This is a short story about two sisters Danielle and Susie.

For a short story it is compelling and well suited to reading on a train journey, hairdresser visit or something similar. Intriguing and, as usual with this author, great characters and well plotted.
