For a short story, this book was pretty good. I didn't really like the large time gaps but it did keep me entertained and I didn't expect the ending. All in all not too bad.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this!

I have read two previous novels by this author and enjoy her storytelling. The Killing Type is a short story, which I didn't know until I started it. The story is about Susie and Daniellle, two sisters with a rocky relationship. However, despite their history, Danielle turns to Susie when she believes her husband is trying to hurt her. Months later... someone dies. But what is the truth?

I really enjoyed this... and it saved my sleep by only being a short story. I found it hard to put down and enjoyed every minute!

Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin for the ARC of this short story. Danielle and Susie are sisters with all the usual rivalries of siblings: looks, careers, parental affection. They've been almost estranged for some time so it is with some trepidation that Danielle waits to meet Susie. What ensues could be an intriguing novel but is in fact a short story. There are no real surprises in it and it would benefit from being stretched out and developed. I requested it not realising it wasn't a novel (my fault entirely) but wasn't worried as I love short stories. However I don't think it quite worked. There was no real 'epiphany' moment and no character development. I'd read a novel by this author but I wouldn't buy a collection of her short stories.

Remarkable story with gripping suspense, interesting characters and plot twists. Two sisters Danielle and Susie aren’t close, but should Susie believe allegations made by Danielle? Especially against Susie’s husband Simon. Allegations turn to unlikely events and the mystery of whodunit is at play. This book was very suspenseful and perfect as a short story that read like a cinematic event. I enjoyed this gripping tale of whodunit and why.

I received an advanced review copy (ARC) of this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Interesting premise but would have benefitted from becoming a full novel. There were some great storyline strands that could have developed into a tense drama.

The Killing Type by Jane Corry is a great short story that is scary, mysterious and fast paced. Really kept me reading and not knowing what to expect next. Fantastic read.

A short story but gripping read which could actually be a really promising novel. Nevertheless, and despite the length, a totally great read. Hope there's more, though.

The Killing Type is a cleverly designed novella (or short story, I'd even go as far as to suggest) that focuses around the bond of sisterhood and the love children have for their parents. Corry demonstrates the strength of familial bonds and manages to bend the reader's brain to suit her own narratives, revealing everything only in the final moments.
Though short, The Killing Type was a fantastic representation of what lies beneath.

Short, thrilling read with plenty of twists. I received a copy from NetGalley and this is my honest review.

The Killing Type is a short story about two sisters named Susie and Danielle who despite their close age difference have never been close.

This was an excellent short story that grabbed my attention from the start.

I wish The Killing Type become a novel. It was very interesting but far too short.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Penguin Books for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

It is a short story and that alone disappointed me as this could be a really promising novel. Nevertheless, it is a gripping one and despite the length, a totally great read. Hope there's more, though.

Thank you Net Galley and Penguin Books for allowing me to read The Killing Type by Jane Corry for an honest review. All opinions are my own!

My first time reading Jane Corry and it won't be the last!

This is a very short story but really well written!

Two sisters, Susie and Danielle, don't get along, one tells the other that her husband is trying to kill her, the sister doesn't believe her, same with the police! Accidents happen. Months later, someone dies, is it an accident? Someone is lying but who?
Things aren't always what they seem...

It keeps you guessing and wondering until the big reveal and I was thinking "WHAT?" "WOW"! Really good thriller, good twists! It would make a good movie!

The Killing Type is a short story of two sisters seemingly wrapped up in a whirl wind of lies and deceit. You, also, won’t know who to trust in this wonderful, condensed thriller!

I would LOVE to see The Killing Type become a novel. It was engrossing and gripping but I needed more! I love all of Jane Corry’s books and this short story is no different!

Thank you to Netgalley, Jane Corry and Penguin Publishers for the opportunity to read The Killing Type.

Had a good story to it. Some parts were quite clever. Was too short I think. Wouldn't say it was awful just wasn't t for me

Short but enjoyable. Features two sisters, a husband, and a twisty, shocking, revenge whodunnit plot - what's not to love.

I received a digital ARC of #TheKillingType from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

When I requested this I didn't realise it was a novella, or that it was so very very short! It was a good story for how short it was, but I would have liked more depth and detail. You can't get that with a book of 50 pages! It is a good premise for a full length book. As it was so short it did jump around a lot.

If you like novellas this is a good one to read with a twist at the end I wasn't expecting. But don't expect the detail of a full novel as you won't get it here. Also be aware that it is just 50 pages on kindle, but also that the book ends at 49%. It took me half an hour to read it. The remainder is part of The Dead Ex which is a novel by the same author, but totally unrelated to this story.

A great set up for a short story. I just knew exactly where it was going from the beginning so I wasn't ever able to thoroughly enjoy it... often if I guess the end, the story telling will wrap me up regardless. I did think the writing was good and I would definitely try more from this author.

I'm not a big reader of short stories, but I like this author so I thought I would. It's good! And enjoyable read, fast paced, great for those looking for a quick read. I hope she releases another novel soon though!
