The story starts with family tragedy that turns Abby into a mother of a family. Someone has to take care of her 4 sisters and her father is not capable of doing so. Fast forward to 10 years later, we are now meeting Abby; a 24 year old woman, ready to get a work in biscuit company as a personal assistant of the managing director Doug.

This book was one great read this summer. This was also my first read from Kathryn and I was blown out by it. The characters are made up so nicely and they are not flat or boring. Each one of them has their own story why are they the way they are and it is great. Aside maybe just one person.

In my opinion, Abby is a great character. She has given up a lot for her family but that doesn’t mean that she is boring. In fact, she is one really smart woman that has great ideas how to bring the business forward. She has a great potential and even if not that many people believe in her, the stats are proving everyone wrong. She may not stood up for herself all the time but she knows what she wants and she will go for it. What I found great is that this woman has curves. Today, it is sadly hard to find a heroine in the romance books that have curves. Let us curvy woman have our time too, we’re not bad. Her sisters are hilarious. Each of them has a quirk that makes you love them. 🙂 I think that without them, this book wouldn’t have it’s beautiful charm that it has.

Doug is one though character. At first, you might not totally understand what his reasons are and why is he acting the way he is but there is a point in the book where you just realize everything and you also feel sorry for him. No one deserves to go through what he went through. I’m glad how, in the end, he stood up for himself (and Abby) as well. He also opened up to love which he never received in his life (not talking about romantic love here). He also has the looks (trust me, Kathryn has done a great job describing it). His actions may not all be thought through, but I think it has a lot to do with how he was raised and that it is everything he has ever known in his life.

Kathryn has done a great job writing this book. There wasn’t a moment where I thought that this book was boring. On the contrary, I loved every little bit and piece of this book. It makes you smile and it squeezes your heart just the right amount that you get addicted to it. I would totally be pleased to read more about Abby and Doug, to see how their story continues. I hope this book wasn’t the end for them.

First off I have to say Kathryn Freeman not only has a fantastic imagination with slightly brooding males heavily featuring in the novels of hers that I have already devoured and loved. She also said some of the kindest words to me as a blogger going through a testing time wondering whether this was still for me.

As many of you know I work full-time for Cancer Research and have been working on my own well being and fitness. Reading is one of my greatest passions and first loves and I’m glad that I get to read when I can. Anyway I’m going off topic so back to it. I met Kathryn at a Choc Lit event a while back and at the time I hadn’t read any of her work but I instantly warmed to her and recently when I was doubting myself and my blog she informed me that I was the first blogger to take an interest and to share my love of one of her books – Do Opposites Attract. This made me feel happy yet also sad, I was so excited to be a part of the Oh Crumbs blog tour but my work/life balance wasn’t really very balanced and I was exhausted which meant my review turned into a spotlight.

As soon as I started reading Oh Crumbs I knew it had been worth the wait. Abby and the Spencer clan had me hanging on each and every sentence. Quite quickly the Spencer families life changed dramatically. Everything about Abby Spencer I adored, she’s very much family focussed, a hardworking woman and I just loved her get up and go. In her interview with Doug Faulkner I really wasn’t sure on him. Although I did feel for Abby everything that could have gone wrong for her did, but she proved herself to be a worthy candidate all the same.

I loved seeing Abby and Doug blossom and the changes that came to their relationship. There’s so much more to Doug and I want to say more but I don’t want to ruin the story and the way his vulnerable side comes to light.

Oh Crumbs is such an apt name for a biscuit company – with a PA who doesn’t swear and aptly says oh Crumbs during many bumbling incidents. The fact Abby talks like this shows her vulnerable and naive side but just watch her slay a room of executives with her ideas for the future. There is so much to this novel it’s hard to say too much without spoiling things. What I will say is appearances can be deceptive and manners really do cost nothing. Kathryn has written a novel that will suck you in as the characters are so real it could be someone you know. There are so many aspects to everyday life situations and scenarios and there are so many OMG moments that will have you second guessing the characters and most of the time you won’t be right at all.

Oh Crumbs is so much more than a tale of romance – if you’re undecided pick it up and get reading I promise you you won’t be disappointed. Although having joined Slimming World reading a book about biscuits was a bit of a test although my sweet tooth has curbed a lot which is good in the grand scheme of things.

It looks at a number of issues including families, loyalty and lies to name a few. Kathryn as I said to you I wasn’t too sure on Doug until said “you know sometimes When I look at you, my heart stops.” This line melted me….beyond belief.

Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for this early copy,

It was a well-done and cute chick-lit novel. I will be checking out more form Freeman in the future.

Anna and Doug couldn’t be more opposite – everything about her is open and honest from her chaotic home life where she’s helped to raise her sisters after her mother’s untimely death to her endearing clumsiness. Doug is the epitome of the closed up man for very good reasons that we slowly discover as the story unfolds. There’s humor, romance, sadness and biscuits so put the kettle on and enjoy this lovely summery book!

I loved this love story! The chemistry between the fun, bubbly Abby and the reserved, seemingly inscrutable Doug is adorable. I love the contrast between their personalities, and I love how the nuances in both characters’ personalities are gradually revealed by the circumstances they face.

I also really enjoyed how both characters’ family situations create rich and complex subplots that surround their romance. Abby has cared for her younger sisters since age 12, when their mother dies and their father has to work long hours to make ends meet. She’s had to put her career ambitions on hold for her family, and I love how working at Doug’s company, even starting as a personal assistant, gives her the opportunity to demonstrate her skills at coming up with innovative ideas to grow the business. I especially love how supportive Doug is of her talent, and how he helps build up her confidence. And finally, I absolutely love how even though Abby’s responsibilities to her family sometimes cause friction in her rise up the corporate ladder and her relationship with Doug, Freeman never makes it seem like Abby’s family is a burden. Instead, Abby has to learn to balance all her commitments and figure out a way to integrate time with her sisters in her new life.

Doug has a more contentious relationship with his family. He hates his job at his family’s biscuit company, and hates dealing with his overbearing bully of a father. He’d much rather be an artist, and has been indulging this passion secretly in his spare time. I love that Doug is actually experiencing financial success as an artist — so often, the choice between art and business is presented in fiction as one between poverty and wealth, so I like that Freeman shows that it is possible to have financial stability as an artist. I found the drama in Doug’s family to also be relatable, and I very much sympathized with the crap he had to put up with.

Finally, I love how realistic Abby and Doug’s relationship felt. The story confronts head-on the power imbalance issue with the boss/employee dynamic, the way one’s experience with family informs their approach to relationships, and the way couples still need to negotiate complex relationship issues even after they get together.

Oh Crumbs started off a fun, lighthearted romance, and, like any meaningful relationship, gradually revealed more complex emotional nuances throughout. I loved it and highly recommend it.

It’s taken me a while to get to this book and schedule it in to read –but I certainly am glad I did. A read in one sitting, clever, funny and surprisingly honest story that follows Abby and Doug through changes, growth, division and coming together.

Abby has been mother, sister, housekeeper and an integral part of the household since her mother’s death some twelve years ago. With four little sisters and a father laid low by grief, she’d had to put off all of her own desires to move out and away in order to keep the family going. But, she also took the time (late nights) to work on her degree, and now, with a newly minted degree, she’s off to interview for a PA position, hoping to get a foot in the door at a local biscuit maker.

Doug is the Managing Director of the business, and needs a PA immediately. Abby is late for the interview, trips into her chair, is holding her jacket together, talking non-stop, and providing him with the first breath of air he’s had in the office for forever. And, on a whim, something TOTALLY unlike his controlled dislike for business and this business in general. He’s got the weekend to regret this decision, but he’s admittedly curious.

Abby, for her part is far more organized and determined to make a good impression: she’s contacted Doug’s former PA, set up meetings with HR and IT, and has a general sense of his schedule, his likes and dislikes and even how he takes his coffee. Far from what Doug expected, she’s also got a habit of speaking before thinking, has a keen eye for business, and has brought a whole new atmosphere to the office: he’s almost looking forward to coming to work.

Oh the back and forth, with Doug’s secret, Abby’s sisters and Doug’s willingness to allow Abby a chance to learn and use her skills for business - she’s getting HUGE experience, that few (apart from Doug and his former lover / marketing director ) recognize. Abby is adorable and smart, organized and wholly responsible for her family – and managing to juggle work, home and added research and information while finding new ways to tempt and astound Doug in near every moment.

With plenty of family angst, a secret about himself that Doug shares, ham-handedly – and a ton of ‘these two are better together than even they see, it’s not until Abby takes a page from her own ‘dare to go for what you want’ book – and risks it all – with great reward.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I was really looking forward to reading this one, the blurb really intrigued me and I am delighted to say that it lived up to my expectations and it was a delight to read!

I loved the characters and really warmed to Abby, I loved her interaction with Doug too, it really made me smile. The plot was really enjoyable and the writing style was spot on for the book, it flowed really well and before I knew it I was three-quarters of the way through the book and I had only intended to read a couple of chapters – that is always the sign of a good read for me!

4.5 stars from me rounded up to 5 stars for Amazon and Goodreads – I really enjoyed it – its a lovely book to read and would be a lovely book to read this summer!

Favorite Quotes:

‘I’m a brown belt in BJJ. Brazilian jiu-jitsu,’ he added at her puzzled look. ‘I’ve heard of a Brazilian, but I’m pretty sure the one I’m thinking of wouldn’t take out two men.’ Bugger, bugger, talk about a mood crusher

I’m an ample, if I breathe in, size ten. Okay, maybe I’m an eleven but they don’t really do that size so I guess that makes me a twelve.

Though I suppose there are plenty of women out there better at sex than me. If I had to make a guess, I’d say I’m only Brownie badge status.’ She winced, finally looking up at him. ‘And that sounds wildly inappropriate because unless things have changed radically in the last fifteen years, I doubt Brownies have a badge for sex.’

‘Don’t change, Abby,’ he replied quietly. ‘You’re perfect just the way you are.’ And wow, he might not say many words but those he did say were dynamite.

My Review:

Before finishing the first few pages I was an instant fangirl of the delightfully amusing Kathryn Freeman, who is now my favorite wordsmith. I want all her clever and witty words as I savored this scrumptious and engaging book and from start to finish. I absolutely adored Abby although all the characters were endearingly quirky and intriguing. The writing was well-crafted and engaging, the characters were uniquely appealing and complex, and the reading was a total treat. I hit pay dirt yet again for my Brit Vocab List with several comical entries including: not on your nelly (not likely), cock-a-hoop (extremely pleased), Hell’s teeth (exclamation of surprise, frustration, or anger), and gazump (swindle). I am cock-a-hoop having discovered this exceptionally talented author.

This is book is a lovely, light read, just perfect for these long, hot summer evenings we are having at the moment. When reading this book, it was impossible not to fall in love with each and every one of the Spencer girls (although speaking as an only child, I suspect I would struggle to live in their manic household). My heart went out to Doug, with his life controlled by secrets and fear of letting anybody get too close.

If you are looking for a book to enjoy on your summer holiday, I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.

I know what you are thinking. This is so cliche!!! The glorified typist falling for the boss man . . . happens all the time. But this is a cliche we would like to dream of 😉. So here I am with my first Choc Lit book while the rain is raging outside.
The story begins with a funeral and we are slowly introduced to the Spencer family which now consists of a widowed father and five kids. Don't get me wrong here. I am not against having kids, but if you don't have the means to take care of all of them, then that is a big no-no. Safe to say, I disliked Mr. Spencer from the start even though he is presented in a good light throughout the novel.
But Abby is altogether a different story. She is cute, witty, hardworking and caring. I was curious how she will manage to accommodate Dough with her hectic work life and family pressure. Keeping work and family together is one of the greatest challenges today's women face and I am so glad that she made the right choice. This story thus contains one of the best climaxes that I am going to cherish forever.
I don't know if men like Dough exist anymore other than in imagination. A handsome introvert who is not at all possessive, he is an awesome match for Abby.
By the way, if you are wondering about the title, it is just an expression often used by Abby when she wants to swear. So altogether a fantastic read and thank you, Rachel, for giving me a copy for the blog tour. Loved it every minute of my reading.

What a lovely tale! Romance, family and a bit of excitement along the way all add up to an enjoyable read.

When Abby's mother died, she took on the mantle of being surrogate mum as well as big sister to her four younger sisters. Missing out on so much, she has never regretted taking on the responsibility. She loves her family - even if they do drive her crazy most of the time! Heading to an interview for a job she really wants, Abby finds that everything that could go wrong does and is resigning herself to hearing a negative response, but the MD of Crumbs biscuit company finds something strangely endearing about this blonde whirlwind who can't stop talking!

I love the character of Abby; she is a bright, modern, family-orientated career girl who wants it all. Life isn't easy or straightforward, but Abby sets her sights high and is determined to do well. Doug has a secret - hinted at several times, but with plenty going on the big reveal wasn't urgent. The story builds at a nice pace, allowing us to get to know the main characters and the antics of Abby's sisters are not only funny and entertaining but also so true to life! All the years of dealing with moods and tantrums has proved to be good experience for the job Abby lands - blonde and cute she may be but she has an inner steel core honed to perfection.

Whilst I really enjoyed this novel, for me, the ending was a bit compacted. Then there was one of my pet hates: the story ended at 90% and the remainder has the beginning of another book. Not something I'm keen on at all, but it's hardly the author's decision and it won't affect my rating, but I do wish publishers would stop doing it! However, if you're looking for a lighter read with romance and a family base, then this is definitely worth the read. Try it and see!

My thanks to publishers Choc Lit for approving my copy via NetGalley, and Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to be a part of this Blog Tour. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

Onto a book that I’m sure I’ll remember for some time to come because of characters that leapt off the page, and romance and heat that took my breath away!!! So this is the story of Abigail Spencer, who stole my heart from page one, where she showed how willingly she took up the role of surrogate mother to a huge household and I knew she was something very special. Abby is one of those characters that only comes along in books every so often, a girl with a big heart that evolves into a woman that’s not only enthusiastic about everything in life, but wants everyone else to be happy too. I read so many books that try to be Abby, but then you meet the happy, over the top, accident prone ‘real life’ version and you sigh in happiness, because she is ‘The One!’ Abby has a fire in her to better herself and be the best she can be and we see her graduate form night school and end up at an interview for Crumbs, the biscuit manufacturer.

Enter Doug, the millionaire Managing Director, who against everything his gut tells him, hires Abby, although he worries afterwards that he has just hired a disorganised, chatty, tell-it-too much like it is scatterbrain. A word of warning, if you’re not a fan of not only the ‘will they, won’t they’ scenarios, but also the ‘when will they?’ notion, then this book is most definitely not for you! Blowing hot and cold is as rampant as moments when you have to fan yourself for the expectation of them not only getting but deciding to be together. The chemistry from the off with the two of them was mesmerising and blew me away! This book was like a lesson in how to do romance and heat and I willed them together from the off, unable to take my eyes away.

I loved not only the banter between two of the most likeable characters I’ve read in some time, and their alternating povs, but the everyday in the ‘Crumbs’ biscuit factory and how the power structure was playing out with Doug’s dad, the owner of the business. There is tension and drama aplenty, in fact it is thrown at us from all angles, work, home and Doug’s family too, and I was never bored or even contemplating having to push my eyes back to the book. I will tell you that there’s cliches aplenty, but if you’re willing to accept them they’re impeccably done, the millionaire in his flashy car saving the day, some over the top baddies, Abby stepping in to help the company, that sort of thing, and I devoured it all!

Actually there was a hint of ‘Me Before You’ by JoJo Moyes about this book, in relations to characters, circumstance and Abby’s huge and larger than life (I adored them all!) family, and that being one of my favourite books, I took it excitedly. My only issue at all was that there’s some books out there that I find myself editing (just a little) as I read, substituting one word for another along the way, and unfortunately I was doing that sometimes here, finding eh odd word repeated, or a word I would have rathered but when I thought back over it it didn’t in any way take away from the enjoyment of a book that kept my heart and senses racing on a cliff edge throughout. A book that has you smiling from the start, I have to say this is a book that is going to stay with me for some time to come and I can’t wait to read more from Ms. Freeman. Thanks so much to Rachel from Rachel’s Random Resources for the book in return for an honest review.

Oh Crumbs was a delightful read with an amusing, yet poignant plot and fantastic characters.

Abby is worth her weight in gold both at home where she has nearly enough single-handedly raised and looked after her younger sisters since the death of their mother and at work where her ideas and work ethics are second to none.

Doug is one of those characters that you like one minute and want to scream at the next. He’s a very mixed up young man. He’s been thrust into the family business by his father who he doesn’t see eye to eye with, nor have much respect for. He’s hoarding a secret that he doesn’t want anyone to know about, which means he pushes people away from him. Including Abby who he clearly adores.

Kathryn Freeman’s writing is superb and she takes tough situations, such as the funeral scene, and manages to add some light-hearted humour to them that really works.

I was captivated by the story from the very beginning and the plot held my attention for the duration. A real heart squeeze book that was pure joy to read and one I enjoyed immensely.

Oh Crumbs is an absolutely brilliant, funny and all round charming read that left me with a big grin of my face. Kathryn Freeman has written an superb novel, one that I devoured quickly as I just couldn’t put it down, I was addicted!

Abby is in her early twenties on her way to a job interview for a job at Crumbs, a biscuit company when everything seems to go wrong. She’s late, her nephew has covered her shirt with crumbs and she talks far too much that was necessary in the interview. So why does Doug hire her as his PA? He has no idea either!

When we first meet Abby she’s 13 and is left in charge of her younger sisters after her mother dies. Abby’s father is working many hours to pay for the house and Abby is in charge of making sure her sisters go to school and have meals. I loved Abby right from the start, she was funny, relatable and is the kind of girl you’d want to be friends with. Her whole family is just fabulous, I loved all her sisters for different reasons and her Dad was lovely.

Doug absolutely hates his job, he’s only working there as it’s his Dad’s company but after hiring Abby he seems to enjoy coming to the office more. Doug you’ll either love or hate, I was firmly in the love camp, I thought he was the perfect hero for this book.

The banter between Abby and Doug was just brilliant, I was chuckling along with them as the scenes made me laugh. Kathryn’s writing is flawless, the chapters flew by as you get sucked into the plot and get to know the fabulous characters.

Oh Crumbs is a wonderful, heartwarming, tender, romantic read that’s filled to the brim with laughs, emotion, amazing characters and a fabulous plot line. It’s begging for a sequel, please can we visit the Spencer family again??

Ok, everyone, you are going to have to bear with me as I try to convey just how much I adored this wonderful story. I read a lot and OH CRUMBS by Kathryn Freeman really does stand out for its engaging and loveable characters, its fresh plot, and for making me smile on a dull and gloomy evening in Ireland.

Abby Spencer has looked after her family ever since her mum passed away when she was thirteen. While her dad worked long hours, Abby cared for her younger sisters and passed on the traditional university experience with her friends and enrolled in online college instead. She has always put her heart and soul into those she loves and when she gets a P.A. job for the Managing Director of Crumbs, a biscuit company, her family support her 100%. Juggling a new career and her family commitments would definitely be more than enough for most but when Abby begins to chip away at her reserved boss' hard exterior she finds a talented, kind, and completely sexy man underneath. But could anything really happen between two people that live worlds apart?

Doug is shocked by his new P.A. Her openness, her compassion, and her sharp intelligence are all things that are lacking from this business and from his own life. But Doug knows that they can never be together, that the dark and harsh reality of his world which nobody really understands, should never touch the bright and beautiful light that is Abby and her family. But as they spend more time together, could he really let her walk away from him forever?

This story will make you cry, make you laugh out loud, and make you swoon, and what more can you ask from a brilliant contemporary romance these days?! Abby is the best friend you always wanted and the way she loves is something to aspire to. I loved all of the characters in this story but Abby had to be my favourite, but it would be great to see how life turned out for her sisters so maybe a few more books about them please Kathryn? 😉
There is drama, secrets, family life, and love in all of its forms in OH CRUMBS by Kathryn Freeman and I cannot say enough how much I loved this marvellous book, so get clicking!!

I get so excited when I find a new writer I love, and I have found one in Kathryn Freeman. My heart and mind was hers from the very first pages of this book! I loved it!!!

Oh Crumbs is the love story of an unlikely couple, Abby and Doug. It wouldn’t seem as if this couple would have nothing in common. Abby comes from a big, loud, and loving family. They struggle financially, but they have stuck together and love one another. Doug is heir to a business empire, so he lacks for nothing, except love. His relationship with his father is fractured, and that is putting it mildly. Yet, from their first meeting, the spark is there. Abby completely turned Doug’s world upside down even if he doesn’t realize it at first.

One of my favorite aspects of the book was the way Freeman developed each character. For instance, Doug is a man who likes order. Once Abby literally trips her way into his world, he has invited chaos, but in a good way. He sees himself as cold and lacking emotion, and who wouldn’t with his family. But, Abby sees through that defense, and she somehow gets him to see himself differently. The compassionate side of Doug emerges to reveal a kind and generous man who happens to be a bit of fun as well!

Abby truly amazes me. She lost her mother when she was just a teenager. Instead of going off the rails, she postpones her dreams to help her father raise her sisters. Life is hard for Abby, but she always rises to the occasion and is there for her family. When Doug enters her life, it’s was nice to see her in a different light, a young woman falling in love and enjoying her life.

There are some bumps, including a secret, along the way for this couple, but it was so nice reading a positive and uplifting book that left me with a warm feeling in my heart. The romance was sweet, yet had some spice to it. It went beyond just the love story of Abby and Doug. Freeman did such a great job of developing the secondary characters, especially Abby’s father and sisters, and they each had a pivotal role in the book. Not only was this a love story between a man and a woman, but a love story of a family as well. These kinds of books are the best in my opinion! I’m looking forward to reading more from Kathryn Freeman.

I wasn't too sure about the early chapters when I started reading Oh Crumbs but once I had got into the story, I realised that the early background was necessary to show you what Abby's life has been like before she joined the Crumbs biscuit factory. Abby Spencer is such a likeable character who wears her heart on her sleeve. On the surface, people may dismiss her but she shows that she has great strength of character, a quick mind and huge common sense.

Abby's chaotic family are also a delight. Warm and funny, all her sisters are individuals in their own right. As their big sister/ stand-in Mum, Abby has always put her family first, to her own detriment. They are quite a contrast to Doug's much colder upbringing and you see that both their childhoods have formed them into the adults they have become. I find Kathryn's style of writing enjoyable to read and it carried me along. You don't always see the best side of her characters but their actions and thoughts remain true to themselves and therefore the story feels credible.

In short: Full of life and romance, a super read.

Thanks to the author for a copy of the book.

I always know when I spot a new Kathryn Freeman book I will need to create some space in my reading schedule. The nice thing about her is she doesn’t disappoint. Right from seeing the cover & reading the blurb there is a lovely warm feeling of expectation.

Oh Crumbs delivers exactly what it promises, a cute, sweet, emotional yet also humorous story.

Young Abby has an event in her young life that no child should have to endure, her mother died when she was 13, her father overcome with utter devastation fell apart and it was soon down to Abby to raise her younger sisters. I think a lot more could have been spent on those years because they worked just ‘right’, a mix of emotion that will tear anyone’s heart.

Years later she is about to embark on a new job in a biscuit factory, just the thought of that created visions in my eyes of a heap of crumbs! The whole bunch of characters livened the book up, good old Doug who took a chance on Abby when he offered her the job even though she had shown signs of being a bit clumsy.

Doug has his own hidden background which reveals itself as we go on, can Abby find happiness for herself, will Doug get used to being included in her large noisy, happy family?

Oh Crumbs is a delight of a book which deserves to be read, savoured and enjoyed, what a good excuse to have a cuppa and your own biscuits while getting yourself cosy to read. Another winner from the author.

Thanks to the author, publisher, netgalley and Rachel at Random Resources for my copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

5☆ Utterly Brilliant, warm, Laugh Out loud, must read!

Oh Crumbs is a heart warming, funny, romance that Is a must read!

I have been so looking forward to reading this Fabulous book the minute I see the blurb for it and I wasn't disappointed!

Right from the very first few pages I was drawn in.
What was meant to be an emotional day for 13year old Abby as she was at her mothers funeral, Kathryn added the perfect delicate humour that made me giggle yet melted my heart.

Abby is the oldest sister and since her mum passed away when she was just 13years old she quickly stepped up to play a motherly role to her 4 younger sisters.
Her Father was struggling to deal with the young family, his grief and working so he relied on Abby for support.

Fast forward several years and Abby is now 24years old and just about to get her first job helping as a PA for a biscuit factory.
Her interview was brilliant, everything that could go wrong before and during did go wrong. Had me laughing out loud and feeling so so sorry for her.
But she charmed manager Doug and he offered her the job straight away, despite her haphazard ways.

Doug is endeared by Abby's care free, caring, warm quirky personality.
She has a big heart but can he capture her heart?

I adored Abby and her sisters so much.
I can't imagine ever going through what they did at such a young age. How Abby held the family together was inspiring.
She's a strong, independent, caring and beautiful young women with a quirky warm personality I warmed to straight away.

My only criticism is I wanted so much more from the girls growing up. I can see their stories becoming another story as each of the sisters had such a charm. I wanted more, it just skipped through the ages a lil too quickly. But having said that it's just a personal thought, I adored this book.

Oh Crumbs is a heart warming feel good story, with plenty of laugh out loud moments, loveable characters, mishaps and mayhem, I can't recommend this endearing book enough!

Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Douglas Faulkner has no idea why he decides to employ Abby Spencer as his new PA. She arrived late, talks too much and had a strange stain on her blouse. He likes things organised and tidy, she tends to prefer chaos and mess! So what made him do it?

You won't have to read far into Oh Crumbs to find out.

Abby Spencer is just adorable!

Your heart goes out to Abby's family when you meet them on what is the unhappiest day of their lives. From that moment on the Spencer's just enchant you more and more as each page turns. There is no doubt that Abby is a likable character but you could never predict what she would say next....and I loved it!

Doug has a past and a hard exterior which perfectly compliment his drop-dead gorgeous good looks. When Abby is around he turns into a much happier person.

Is he too much of a tough nut to crack? or will she turn him into a total sweetie?
Heartwarming, funny, enchanting and completely compelling, well done Kathryn Freeman, you nailed it!
