A fab light lazy beach read. Laugh-out-loud & sexy, they did the deed is places you wouldn't imagine! To steal one of Stormy's many idioms don't miss this 'funkylicious vibey- vibes' radiating off the pages of this tale.

Thank-you Headline & Netgalley for sending me a copy in exchange for an open & honest review.

Please note that this book is not for me - I have read the book, However I had to DNF and because i do not like to give negative reviews I will not review this book fully - there is no specific reason for not liking this book. I found it a struggle to read and did not enjoy trying to force myself to read this book.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for the opportunity to read this book

Stormy-Rain is a very unusual woman. She believes in tarots, magic, and that aliens created the human race. Her eyeglasses are held by chewing gum, her clothes are colourful, and her hair represents the hues of the rainbow. She doesn’t have a proper job and is afraid to fly.
Marcus is a lawyer, he follows the rules, he always carries wet wipes, and he wears elegant suits. It’s like they are from different planets, but when her stepsister Lily marries his cousin Damien, the two of them have to fly together to Prague for the wedding. An eventful trip consisting of an emergency landing, moving from hotel to hotel, a road trip around Africa, and a broken-down car in the middle of nowhere, brings Stormy and Marcus to share secrets and feelings and, with the sexual tension always high, will they overcome their differences to discover that they are, after all, very compatible?
I love the Destination Love series of which this is the fourth book. All the protagonists of these novels are women based in South Africa, but they travel to exotic and beautiful places, from Thailand to Greece, from Mauritius to Mombasa and have beautiful love stories that keep you glued to the page. Engaging, romantic, and witty, this is another must-read for this series.

Firstly, what a book! This had me smiling and laughing the whole way through their journey. These characters were chalk and cheese to each other and their interactions and adventures were a joy to read about. The storyline was really interesting, it kept me gripped (I actually read the majority of this book all in one sitting), and it is one of those books that I know I will come back to when I need something to pick me up and make me laugh. A pleasure to read.

Having read all of Jo Watson's books so far, I have always been intrigued by Stormy Rain who is one of the bigger friendship group, and has struck me as wacky! Now in After The Rain I get to know her a whole lot better and she is quirky but so so loveable. She has so many endearing qualities to her, which not everyone can see.

And Marcus, is a lawyer and about as opposite from Stormy Rain as you can get, and he has promised that he will accompany Stormy to Prague for the wedding they both need to attend. Only Stormy is petrified of flying and things are never as simple as they should be.

In fact I should warn you don't read the first 15% of this while you are on a plane, I did and I'm a confident flier but even I was getting a bit worried partly as I hit turbulence at the same point as certain happenings in the early chapters.

Simmering away beneath Stormy Rain and Marcus' hilarious banter is some explosive sexual chemistry and wow those were some fabulous scenes. The sex in this book is fabulous and then there is the scene in the helicopter that is so clever.

I love all the unexpected turns this trip took when one simple journey turned into something a lot different.

This is another fabulous story from this author, who I am continually excited to hear about new books from!

Thank you to Headline Eternal and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This is yet another case of "it's not you, it's me". I loved another one of Jo Watson's books so clearly it isn't a fault with her writing, her plots or her characters... but something about this one just didn't gel with me and I found myself feeling a little gloomy whilst reading it because I just couldn't get into it.

Maybe this specific set of characters didn't do it for me - the main male character just went on a little too much about her "strange" appearance and some of the things she blurted out just... didn't sit well with me for some reason. But as usual with Jo Watson, her writing is fabulous and the premise is outstanding. I just don't think I'm the right fit for this book for whatever reason. Maybe after I've thought about it for a while I'll be able to pinpoint why, but for now I can't. But I would 100% recommend it because the premise is fabulous and the execution is great! It just didn't work for me personally, but I have no doubt that this would be a hit for other people.

I wasn’t sure about this one to begin with. The characters are so polar opposite and extremes that I wasn’t sure if I could like them, but the more I read on, the more I grew to like them, and even love them by the end!

This book was so cute and sexy and had quite a few laugh out loud moments too.
I don’t think I’ve ever actually laughed so much at a book before 🤔

I really loved the cover of this novel, the bright colours drew me in and just looked gorgeous and even though the blurb sounded a bit different to my usual read, I thought I'd give it a go as all of the other reviews I've read for this book sounded positive enough. It was an enjoyable read - not my favourite but I'm glad I gave it a go.

Stormy-Rain seemed as quirky as her name and I didn't find myself relating to her or Marcus as much but it was nice to read about a pair that was so different come together and it was quite a refreshing read. I enjoyed reading about their journey, and not just their relationship. It was lighthearted but also quite deep and meaningful in others.

I'll definitely be looking out for Jo Watson's other novels because she has such a nice style of writing.

Thank you NetGalley for providing an Arc in exchange for an honest review.

DNF at 48%.

I'm quite sad that I didn't enjoy this. I think because I've just finished reading Jo Watsons other book Love to Hate You, I cam away from that thinking I'd love this, unfortunately for me it just didn't do anything for me. I didn't like Stormy or Marcus all that much. For me when I read a book I enjoy liking or hating a character (that is meant to be that way) but disappointingly I just found both of the characters slightly annoying.

This is the main thing that put me off, just the sense of the two characters, normally I would of loved this if the two characters were maybe tweaked to be different. So it's definitely a me not them, just a matter of opinion.

I hope the next time I read a Jo Watson book I'll enjoy it more. Still can't wait for her next book! :)

Initially I wasn’t sure I would like this as the main protagonists are not the typical rom com characters, but it was actually a great read! Two people, who are polar opposites in every way are forced together for a long journey across the world. As they travel towards their destination, they also become closer to each other. Stormy’s distrust of technology and societal norms are refreshingly quirky and even her rainbow coloured hair soon becomes endearing as you get to know and like her throughout the book. While Marcus’ obsession with being clean, neat and on time is tempered by his kindness and generosity. I loved the way the two characters gradually became more tolerant of each other’s views as they learned the reasons behind them.

Although on the surface this is a lighthearted romance, there is a surprising depth to it too and perhaps also a reminder not to judge people on first impressions. The story is fresh, original and is absolutely ‘chock a block’ with amusing moments!I love Jo’s engaging writing style and will definitely be looking for more books by her in future.

Another great book from Jo Watson.
This one centres on Stormy Rain, who is heading out to Prague for a wedding. She is travelling there with Marcus, who she's never met before, but as soon as they meet the attraction is there despite how different they are in every way.
A fun read!
