I always enjoy books by Lisa Jackson because they are so well written and this time is no exception. The plot was good and the cast of characters interesting. It was however just a little bit slow going for me this time

Wow what an amazing roller coaster of a ride with twists that will not disappoint and keep you hooked.

20 years ago Remmi’s mother Didi, a Marilyn Monroe impersonator hoping to make it big in showbiz, disappears in very mysterious circumstances along with her infant twins.l 15 year old Remmi is left on her own on her own but is taken in by her aunt as Didi never returns.

20 years later Remmi is passing the Montmort Tower Hotel when she sees a woman on the 20th floor dressed as Marilyn Monroe, standing very close to the ledge. When she jumps to her death Remmi instantly thinks it is her missing mother.

A book has just been published all about Didi’s life. Is She still alive? Remmi starts her own investigation to look for her mother. Is the truth closer to home than you think!!

A very addictive book which is full of secrets, betrayals, lies and not forgetting a touch of romance.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.

Wow Lisa Jackson has done it again! Another excellent tale with more twists and turns than you can shake a stick at. The main characters were likeable, all the threads of the story were woven together so that the reader felt they wanted to know who the 'Marksman' was and where were Didi and her children? Were they even alive....... Can't wait for her next book.
Thank you Netgalley, Hodden & Stoughton Mullholand Books and Lisa Jackson for the opportunity to read this arc.

Lisa Jackson never fails to deliver thrills and spills in every book of hers I have read, and this is no different! A rollicking good read!

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I have read quite a few books by this author and really not sure about this one, perhaps I was not in the frame of mind for a thriller. I will let other people voice their opinion.

Omg amazing book. I was on the edge of my seat through the entire book. It was very exciting. This author is now one of my new favorites.

The current trend of unravelling past timelines to reveal what is happening in the present is used well here. Lots of questions to be answering by the slow revealing plot makes for an entertaining read. A few too many 'coincidences' for my liking, but still an entertaining read and I will definitely be looking for more from this author in the future.

Good book with an intriguing storyline. Took a while for all the strands to connect and had a final unexpected twist

Fifteen-year-old Remmi Storm was trapped inside the specially adapted boot of her mother’s car. Didi Storm had put Remmi’s siblings, babies Adam and Ariel, into the back seat of the Cadillac and headed for the Mojave desert – she had no idea her oldest child was in the boot of her car. What Remmi heard and glimpsed that night would stay with her forever. And although her mother didn’t know she had been witness to the events in the desert, when Didi left home the following night, she promised to be back by morning. But Remmi never saw her again…

Twenty years later and Remmi had finally found a measure of happiness in her life in San Francisco. But when she happened to be outside a hotel when a young woman committed suicide by jumping, and the jumper was dressed in Didi’s clothes; even looked like Didi, the past came rushing back. The “tell all” book on Didi’s life and disappearance which had just been published couldn’t be a coincidence.

Detective Dani Settler and her partner, Detective Martinez were determined to solve what looked like a crossover with Didi’s disappearance twenty years ago – a case which had never been solved. Remmi wanted answers – she was sure Didi was still alive, out there somewhere. And her siblings – were they alive? She needed to know. But danger lurked; Remmi felt she was being watched, tried to convince herself she was being paranoid. But was she?

Liar Liar by Lisa Jackson is a fast paced, action packed thriller which I enjoyed very much. Plenty of twists, a fair number of characters which did make me stop to work out who it was now and then, and I had no idea who the perpetrator was until the reveal. I was shocked! Liar Liar is a great read that I recommend.

With thanks to NetGalley and Hodder & Stoughton, UK for my digital ARC to read and review.

What struck me the most in this book is the excellent way in which Lisa Jackson describes how different people can have very different views of other people. Edie/Didi is beautiful but 'difficult'. Her mother thinks she is a horrible person who doesn't care about anything, her sister thinks more or less the same, but her daughter sometimes sees the desperate child in her, and she also sees the love Didi has for her and her two newborns.
An intruiging story, although I found it a little hard to connect the beginning and the end; I would have liked to get a little more information about the background of some of the characters.

Thanks to NetGalley for this book.

Lisa Jackson is perfect beach book if you like thrillers. Twenty years ago Remmi Storms mother Didi disappeared never to be heard from again. What happened to Didi Storm and can her daughter find the answers after twenty years?
The story keeps you gripped from page one as you follow Remmi as she tries to finally find her mother whilst detective Dani Settler tries to understand why a Didi Storm lookalike has jumped from a hotel and is it linked to Didi’s disappearance.
I’ve read most of Lisa Hackson’s books and they are an easy read. I would definately add this to me suitcase.
Thanks to NetGalley and Mulholland books for a ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I enjoyed this book, especially once we got into the detecting the stage, it was well thought out but I did find it a bit confusing as we started in current time, went back then came back to now. I can understand why it was done as it enhanced the story and gave background of the main characters in the book, Remmi and Noah.

The story is about a celebrity impersonator that went missing 20 years ago, her life story has just been published and she tumbles out of a 19th floor window of a hotel in San Francisco. Her daughter was in the crowd but doesn't believe it was her mum and goes to the police and so the wounds are re-opened as Remmi has to relive how Didi Storm disappeared 20 years ago. Then things are start to get interesting.

This is another good book by Lisa Jackson and she thinks her plots out well, works out the details and ensures its well written. Always worth a read.

The book begins with a nerve wrecking moment, goes on with a boom and ends with revelations that a hard to fathom. Good, solid story. Lacking action, after the first few chapters. But nonetheless a book I found very enjoyable.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Hodder & Stoughton!

Didi Storm dreamed of becoming an actress but instead finds herself working in a club in Las Vegas as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator and a mother to fifteen-year-old Remmi and twin babies. After a deal in the desert goes wrong, a car explodes, Didi disappears, her twins babies disappears, Noah, a friend of Remmi, is shot, and Remmi is put in the care of her god-fearing aunt.
Twenty years later, a book investigating Didi's disappearance comes out and a woman looking like Didi and wearing her clothes jumps to her death from the window of a hotel in San Francisco. Remmi, now working for an elderly rich lady, witnesses the scene. She never stopped wondering what happened to her mother and her half-siblings and now that the case has again caught the attention of the police, Remmi decides to investigate on her own. But someone is watching her.
I found this novel so gripping that I read it in a day. Everyone from Remmi's past has been keeping a secret and, amid a few twists, these are slowly unravelled. The story is very suspenseful and, even though it focuses on disappearances, murders, and lies, there is also a bit of romance. I found the ending a bit rushed, but, all in all, I really enjoyed this novel and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a good thrilling read.

A woman jumps to her death. She looks a lot like washed up beauty queen Didi Storm, but her daughter is adamant: that's not her mother.

To solve the mystery of who jumped - and why - Remmi Storm and cop Dani Settler have to go back to the start, to a deal conducted in the Las Vegas desert 22 years ago, which went terribly wrong...

A brilliantly written stand alone. Keeps you guessing all the way through to the bitter end.
I was constantly trying to work out who was responsible for the growing dead population and frequently got it wrong. Has made me realise I don’t read enough of Lisa Jackson’s books.

This is an excellent crime thriller with an intriguing and unique premise. Didi Storm is a washed up beauty queen and Marilyn Monroe impersonator. Remmi, Didi's daughter, witnesses a woman jumping to her death from a building in San Francisco. She had been dressed as Marilyn Monroe. Remmi is adamant that it was not her mother. To solve this mystery of who it was that jumped and why, cop Dani Settler and Remmi Storm must go back over two decades and discover the deal made in the Nevada desert.

This is a pacy and engaging read that draws on a dual timeline to slowly reveal the facts as they are. There are some great twists and a stunning array of dark secrets throughout. I had no idea Lisa Jackson had written more than 85 novels that have been translated into numerous different languages. I should really have known how good it was going to be by the testimonial from Harlan Coben, himself a master of the genre. I will be definitely be reading more from Lisa Jackson.

Many thanks to Hodder & Stoughton for an ARC. I was not required to post a review and all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Lisa Jackson writes an intense crime thriller set in the present and the disappearance of Didi Storm, an ex-beauty queen and Remmi's mother, twenty years ago. A 15 year old Remmi is left to her own devices as she is forced to take care of herself. Didi is far too ambitious and preoccupied with making it in Las Vegas as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. Remmi hides herself in the trunk of her mother's car as Didi, with her six week old baby twins, a boy and a girl, drives to the middle of nowhere where she meets a man. A murky deal is made but events get spectacularly out of control until Didi leaves with one of the twins. Remmi wants to know what is going on, but her mother is less than forthcoming and before long she disappears with her sibling. Twenty years later, Remmi's life has been difficult, she has never got over the trauma of what happened, and still wonders what happened to her mother.

Bizarrely, Remmi is there when a woman dressed as Didi in Marilyn Monroe clothing jumps off a San Francisco building to her death. What is going on? A book has been published recently about Didi, so could it be a PR stunt to attract attention to it? Detective Dani Settler is determined to get to the truth of the affair. Out of the blue, a figure from the past returns, Noah Scott is now a PI, he and Remmi begin to delve into the past, only to find themselves swimming in very dangerous territory. A visit to Ned and Trudie turns out to be harrowing and they begin to look more closely at Remmi's family. As the title suggests, this is a story of lies, deception, betrayal, ambition and murder. This was an engrossing and engaging read from Lisa Jackson which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Many thanks to Hodder and Stoughton for an ARC.
