To be honest, this book wasn't really right for me. Advice like 'put hats on your newborn as it stops their heads looking so weird in Instagram shots' didn't really apply since I don't put photos of my child on social media. I did try and remember to get to newborn cinema though and that was good advice. I also didn't find the Mush app particularly user friendly so being honest I probably wouldn't recommend this app to other people. I guess I've just been lucky in finding an area with a really strong Mum community so I haven't needed stuff like this so am perhaps not in the best place to comment.

The Mumsition by The Creators of Mush is an informative guide to what to expect when you're a new mum.

This book reads like a chat with a knowledgeable, yet imperfect, friend. I loved that it isn’t textbook-like or preachy like a lot of others, and the main message I’ve taken away is that it’s ok to find things hard and to eat a lot of biscuits.
At 27 weeks pregnant it’s helpful to have a read about what I’m in for, and while the baby is clearly important, the book focuses on how Mum can cope with the changes rather than being a ‘baby book’. With helpful sections like ‘how to look after yourself when it’s all about the baby’, ‘how to eat out with a baby without making everyone hate you’ and ‘how to take your baby on holiday without losing your mind’, I think this is something that I’ll try to refer back to for reassurance when sleep deprived and anxious.
Overall, I found this to be an easy crash course in the types of worries I’ll probably have, and why I shouldn’t be worrying about them!
