What a wonderful addition to the world of YA crime fiction! I found this book a quick read and really enjoyed the mini editions of texts and web pages.
I was disappointed by the ending, but only cause I rather enjoy happy or at least happier endings. What a whirlwind of a crime!

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

An overly busy and ultimately disappointing YA crime thriller.

The constant jumps in POV character are quite jarring. The story is told from so many different perspectives, I'm not even sure how many different POV characters we had in the end. One of them gets barely a couple of lines in. Another one gets a single chapter. The main suspect, Luke, gets the most, including several consecutive chapters, to build pace and suspense I think.

Then there's the format changes. We get first person narratives. We get letters between characters. We get blogs and WhatsApp messages and Facebook comments and YouTube videos. The constant shift in narrative style is clearly intended as a kind of mass-media storytelling but frankly it got a bit tiresome before too long.

The characters are all awful! Everyone is lying about everything from the very beginning, more concerned with protecting themselves than finding a murderer. The only exception to that is maybe Carolina, who flip-flops constantly in her loyalties, despite her determination to be a great detective she's a blatant victim of her own, ever changing, biases. It was hard to feel any sympathy for either Eva, the manipulative, game-playing victim, or Luke, the angry main protagonist, who was trying to overcome the prejudices the world apparently had against him (though as he seemed to be part of the in-crowd it's hard to see exactly what they were) but gave in to a violent temper at the slightest provocation. The investigating officer is completely dreadful, the teachers not much better, and the rest of the class mates are vacuous and empty-headed.

For all the attempts at narrative cleverness, the plot has no satisfying resolution at all. We think we know who was responsible, revealed perhaps in a long epilogue, but for no reason that I could see. Character motivation is not something indulged in here. The trial is shortened to a serious of character statements, with no mention at all about serious and significant police failings that should have had any other case thrown out of court.

Oh, and I'm not even going to get started with the "You've hit 3 million vlog followers, so here's a publishing contract. Your book is coming out in 4 months" or a bird watcher wanting to go to the Outer Hebrides to see kestrels. Yikes!

It Ends With You tries for clever and complex storytelling. Unfortunately it ends with disappointment.

Even tho this was supposed to be YA I raced through it and really liked it, I’ve recommended it to various people and they all loved it too!!! Great book that held my interest and will look out for more from the author.

A fast paced teen murder mystery. I had fun reading this although it's not something I would reread or necessarily recommend to lots of people. It kept my interest enough to whizz through the pages though.

This was highly readable, really quick and easy to read and I had really enjoyed it. I have one gripe though for a book that is set in the UK they should really get the information right as someone who lives there it really bugs me. Like it's minor but still.

I couldn’t put it down. This book is about a girl Eva, who was murdered and we follow multiple POVs from the teens who were closest to Eva. They all attend a posh private school, and all have their own secrets. I love that plot and I did enjoy this book a lot.

Told from six narrative strands, this cleverly woven and utterly compulsive novel challenges preconceptions; makes you second, third and fourth guess yourself; and holds an uncomfortable mirror up to the way societies and systems treat those they perceive to be on the outside.

Unfortunately I no longer wish to review this book as the first few chapters did not reel me in. Thank you for the opportunity.

An excellent young adult read. A murder mystery that keeps you guessing, very well written, and very readable.

Entertaining enough YA murder mystery thriller. I liked the different narratives voices and presentation styles.

All the ingredients for a decent book but I'm not sure why but I didn't get on with this book. The characters were okay, the way the story was pulled together was fine but it just didn't gel. Maybe because the suspect was so obvious that I felt uninterested in delving further.

3 stars so worth a look but there's better out there.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

It Ends With You is a young adult novel that centres around the mysterious death of Eva, the most popular girl in school, found dead in a ditch in the local woods. There are many suspects, but none more likely than Luke, Eva's boyfriend. He's not exactly known for being an angel, and he has both the motive and the opportunity.

The story is told from multiple narrative viewpoints, which makes it more difficult to work out who is telling the truth - who is a reliable narrator and who isn't? It's clever and twisty, and I enjoyed trying to work out who was the most likely to have done the terrible deed, however I didn't really take that much to any of the characters enough to fully buy into their individual stories - which may be part of the writer's plan to keep you guessing. I found the ending a little bit of a shock, definitely impactful but whether you are happy or not with the end result, that's another matter entirely...

I can imagine this book to be very popular with teens, as it really makes you think, and once you've started, you've got to keep going right to the bitter end.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book in return for an unbiased review.

I give this book 3.5 stars out of a possible 5.

I had an ARC of this from NetGalley and I’m ashamed that it languished on my shelf for as long as it did, especially as that now I’ve read it I can say it was such a brilliant read! This is a thriller following the murder of a teenager named Eva. She was a popular girl and it seems like the mostly likely suspect is her boyfriend Luke. The novel follows six characters as we look at what led up to the murder. The narrative is woven in such a way that your belief in who is innocent and who might be guilty keeps changing, it seems like more than one person had a motive. This is such a clever and engaging thriller that I devoured in one sitting! I highly recommend it and I can’t wait to see what S. K. Wright writes next!

Clever book that though largely told through the differing perspectives of teenagers is totally relateable. The insecurities and uncertainties of developing young adults and the confusions they go through as they try to understand their world are recognisable and believable. Recommended no matter what your age.

I really enjoyed It Ends With You.
An intriguing YA thriller, that will appeal to many, it keeps you guessing right up to the very last chapter.

Such a great book. It kept me guessing throughout and I finished it in a day as I couldn’t put it down.

Aimed at a younger audience than a 47 year old but liked lots of the elements especially the different narrative forms.
