I was a bit surprised to realise that this book was aimed at the YA market as I certainly don't fit that demographic! I probably wouldn't have requested it if I had known this but I did quite enjoy reading it though I found some of the characters to be very annoying which is more than likely due to their age! I'm sure the young adults it is aimed at will enjoy it even more.

I really enjoyed the style of this YA murder mystery.

Eva, a 17 year old, has been found murdered in woods and the story develops as told by her boyfriend and friends, as well as chapters written in the style of WhatsApp, Facebook, blog entries, and that really kept it flowing.

No-one is who they seem and there are layers of misdirection and intrigue.

It keeps going until the very last page and it's a good ending too!

4* and thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK for the opportunity to preview this unusual read.

I think this book is great for teens. For anyone older possibly not. As someone has mentioned in the reviews it was slightly americanised even though it was set in England and that kept pulling me out of the story. The book itself was well written but some of the storyline was a bit far fetched.

I was sent a copy of It Ends With You by S. K. Wright to read and review by NetGalley.
This YA novel was quite good, moving between viewpoints of all the different characters concerned in named chapters. This formula provides plenty of twists and turns which include the murdered Eva’s own words in her diary entries. However, even though the story was set in Wimbledon in London the book had a slightly American feel about it. Whether this was a purposeful foil by the author to appeal to a young audience or a complete accident I couldn’t say, although I found it a bit lacking having been somehow homogenised – it could basically have been set anywhere. I’m sure many readers will think that this is a good thing but perhaps I’m too old school (or just too old) as I do like a to have a real sense of place in a novel. I have rated this book with 3 stars because I personally don’t think it quite warrants 4… 3½ would have been my optimum choice. I am sure that younger readers than me (I am by no means a young adult!) will find this book compelling and it is a good easy read.

I couldnt put this book down until i finished it and it was a very easy read. However, I felt this book was written for a younger audience than myself and would feel that it is perfect for my teen. The writing was short and even though the characters were developed well I didn't feel any emotional connection with them. On saying that the plot had lots of twists and I was intrigued to know who did It?

This is a light read, good plot which keeps you engaged and overall I enjoyed it very much.

While I appreciate that there is a certain amount of suspension of belief needed for thriller/crime fiction, this felt one step too far. Some things were far beyond what happens in real life when a crime has been committed.

Over all I wasn't a big fan of this book, and I probably won't be in a hurry to read another by the same author if I am honest.

However I think a much younger audience would appreciate this a lot more than I did.

Strong, addictive mystery for the YA audience. Filled with outstanding twists and well-developed characters. I could not put this one down! Highly recommended to readers who enjoy young adult mysteries.

This book was very, very good. The story follows Luke primarily, Eva's boyfriend, and Carolina, her secret friend as they both get involved in the investigation. I felt that while I couldn't relate much to Eva, most of the other characters were fully rounded out and were the reason why I liked this so much. Luke is angry and volatile at times and yet, I felt a certain sympathy for him even as we found out more of what actually happened.
The investigation that is the focus of the book unfolded nicely in my opinion, with enough information trickling in to keep the reader hooked.
I will say though, that I wasn't satisfied once I knew exactly what had happened. I thought it was too manufactured after hearing bits and pieces of Luke's memory. I still really enjoyed this though and I would read it again.

With the craze of teen tv shows at the minute this book would fit in perfectly. Narrated by different character this book tells a mystery of what happened to Eva after she was found dead in the wood after a new years eve party. I really liked the character of Luke, down on his luck, scruffy and always fighting. it was easy from the start that this character was going to get flack for being different to the other privilege teens.
While I enjoyed the twists and turns keeping me on my toes I didn't think this book was very unique, when looking at what else is out there for YA. How this said it was brilliant to read how wealth and privileges also can bring strong lies and secret into a fast paced plot.

A very intriguing read, not easy to put down once picked up, kept you guessing until the end and to be honest , I'm not sure it answered everything for me even after I'd finished it.
If you are a fan of 13 reasons why, then this is a read for you

A riveting thriller. A young girl is discovered murdered after a new year party. This book is told through different characters each saying it how they see it each having their own chapters. I enjoyed reading this and would recommend it.

I thought It Ends With You was well written, despite feeling confused by the story at times. Not confused in a good way – just like I had too much information and I was lacking direction or sometimes context. However overall this was well written and maybe it was just my inability to digest the information.

My really big disappointment with this book was the ending. I cannot go into it but I did not like the way that this book ended one bit and was left wondering what I had read and why did I read it. Basically the ending made me question the whole book. I have to say a big however here though. Some people will enjoy the manner in which this book ends and others will feel the same sense of dissatisfaction that I felt.

Overall I think that this one comes down to the wire of personal taste. The writing is good, the pacing was not as fast as I like (again, personal taste) but it was well paced out. To be blunt, it worked for the plot but I prefer a faster paced story. The ending will suit some people’s taste but if you like every loose end tied up like I do then this is maybe not the read for you.

What an ending.... I'm convinced of Luke's innocence and I want to shake som sense into everyone in this book. Love the story filled with mystery, lies and deviance. Is it really so easy to get convicted for a crime? Luke is barely 18 years old and, yes, he has a problem with his temper. But what about all the other persons involved? I would love if there was a second book about Luke and this murder. Answering all questions, finding out who's the real killer. I also, really liked how the story is told. Blog entries, text messages and the alternating pov made for an interesting read and made this a page turner I highly recommend.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK!

Not my favourite read I’m afraid. I didn’t take any delight in any of the characters and there were far too many new pieces of information being thrown around.

An enigmatic novel which begins with the discovery of a body and continues with the investigation during which we find out – from several points of view – what the back story is.

Eva comes from a wealthy family, is a popular teenager and is a high achiever at school, so when her body is found in the woods the shock is widespread throughout the community. As the investigation begins, her friends are questioned by the police – but are their replies honest or is there an agenda at play? Tasked with finding out is DI Jackson and, with a teenage daughter of his own who is a contemporary of the group of young adults who had Eva within their circle, he is under tremendous pressure from the powers that be to bring about a swift resolution to this case.

First thing that struck me about this book is that the 16, 17 and 18 year olds have more freedom and more cash to spend than any teenagers of my acquaintance, and it’s evident that they are far more skilled in spinning untruths than I’ve ever been! This is a real eye-opener to the life of wealth and privilege and how adept the recipients of such a lifestyle are at lying and covering their tracks. However, the truth will out and this is a riveting read which has no problem in holding the reader’s attention. There are questions arising from the very beginning, and answers peppered all the way through – but are they the right answers – the honest ones? There’s only one way to find out – read the book!

I enjoyed this one immensely. The writing pulled me into the story and kept me there, from the first page to the last. Without doubt, this is a thrilling read and one which I’ve pondered on ever since. The only thing which I wasn’t keen on was the ambiguous ending – I like my fiction firmly finished off and tied up with a big bow leaving no room for doubt. I may try to convince myself it was obvious what happened next – but was it or was it just wishful thinking on my part? I’m still happy to have read it though!

My thanks to publisher Little, Brown Book Group for my copy via NetGalley. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

I took a while to really get going with this book, but it certainly was an interesting look at secrets, lies and prejudice. The way that from the start the police are so fixated on Luke, a boy from a less well off family, with scruffy clothes and a perchance to get into fights. But as it goes on, you see that what seems to be a basic case of prejudice and profiling, may actually be being used to cover up more involvement.

Though in general, I liked the twists and turns the story came up with, there were maybe just a bit too many. Every time it seemed like we might be getting an idea of what happened, some startling new evidence came out to change everything. I liked this at first, but I really like a mystery where you can look back afterwards and see that there are clues you missed and that it all adds up and makes sense. With this one, there were new suspects added all the time and it meant that you couldn't really work out to tell who it was.

I liked the different view points though and the insight that they threw up. How we saw the investigative side with Carolina and her father and also the suspect's point of view with Luke. Then there's the opinions of the other people in Eva's life and how they react to everything. It really worked well with the allegations against Luke and showing how people's opinions get set very early on.

I don't think this is one I'd read again, but I'm glad I read it.

Enjoyed this book particularly because each character had a different point of reference or view and my mind kept changing as to what I thought had happened to Eva. I didn’t realise until after I finished the book that this was written for a YA audience. I think it. Could easily cross over to a wider market. I haven’t given 5 stars as I was confused by the ending. However a very well deserved 4 star read.

Absolutely loved this book. Compulsive reading that kept me asking questions all the way through. Aimed at a YA audience, but I’m nearly in my 40s and I was hooked!

Couldn’t recommend more highly.

It Ends With You is a young adult murder mystery centering on the discovery of the body of Eva, a beautiful and popular sixth form student. Her troubled, hot-tempered boyfriend Luke is the likely suspect. Through several narrative strands of the people who knew Eva well – or thought they knew her well – different perspectives and stories emerge, throwing doubt on Luke’s guilt.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing throughout and I was eager to get to the end. The narrators all have distinct voices and came across as characters with depth; while they started off with strong thoughts on who was responsible for Eva’s murder, doubts crept in for all of them.

I liked the build-up of tension arising from the doubt about Luke’s part in Eva’s death. Potential clues about Luke or other suspects are discovered by different characters, and are either believed or dismissed by other characters, depending on their preconceptions of Eva and Luke. I thought this was an effective way to show that crimes and guilt are not always clear-cut and that justice cannot always prevail.

This book is a powerful exploration of the danger of prejudices, secrets, and lies.
