Luke is on a scholarship at a school where everyone else is rich and knows how to play the game. Luke was at a party where secrets were created. Luke’s girlfriend was murdered that night. Luke’s love boardered on obsession and more and more people are looking to him to allocate blame. Told through first person narratives, diaries and blogs this has some original ideas.

It Ends with you, is not your typical thriller. Firstly it is told from numerous points of view in chronological order interjected with excerpts from social media and texts, which means the story flows well. Eva, the most popular and beautiful girl at a private school in Wimbledon is murdered. Her boyfriend Luke, the bad boy of St Martins is looking likely as the murderer and we follow the story through to his trial. I can understand why some readers may have found the end confusing, however I think the answers are clear. A thriller worthy of the genre to enjoy this summer.

A contemporary murder mystery story which kept me guessing. I loved the WhatsApp messages and the use of different narrators to explain all angles of the story. I couldn’t put it down.

This novel starts with Luke running away with blood on his hands, knowing he should stay to remedy matters. So immediately the reader knows Luke knows more than he later lets on. We then discover that Eva has been murdered and the last person to apparently see her was Luke - her boyfriend. Each chapter is written in a different voice, so the reader's viewpoint is swayed first one way, then another. Each chapter reveals a little more of the story, confusing the truth even more. Could the killer be Luke - the bad boy on a scholarship to a school in which he does not fit? Could it be Rob, his best friend, wanting to synchronise stories to avoid jeopardising his chances in his Cambridge interview? Could it be Eva's best friend jealous of Eva's popularity? Or Sebastian, the posh boy who changes personality at the drop of a hat? Or the mysterious older lover who is hinted at, then suddenly revealed mid story? And why is the detective's daughter so obsessed with solving the crime herself? There are so many unknowns and so much prejudice against the accused that when the ending comes and the truth is out the reader is still left feeling dissatisfied - although could there be any other ending?

I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, it is readable enough, you get through it in no time at all. On the other, it can be 'bitty' in parts. It is written from several points of view along with WhatsApp extracts and snippets from blogs etc. I think this put me off slightly. Too many intrusions into the narrative. The story is slightly cliched, Poor boy Luke, scholarship boy at a private school, is an outsider in spite of his excellent artistic talents. He is in love with a fellow pupil, Eva. Eva is found murdered and suspicion immediately falls on Luke. The DI in charge of the case is convinced that Luke did it but is he as objective as he should be? We follow the progress of the case from Luke's POV as well as several of his friends. My main feeling was that I couldn't empathise with anyone. None of the characters came alive for me and I was left unmoved. The characters are stereotypical, bad boy Luke, beautiful wild child Eva, stolid Rob destined for Cambridge and a political career, Eva's less attractive and loopy friend Siobhan and geeky Carolina. I also didn't get a sense of place. It was set in Wimbledon, one of the few areas in London that I have some knowledge of but it could have been anywhere.

It Ends With You is a great mystery/thriller which was more YA than I was necessarily expecting: as it centres around a group of students at a private day school. Golden girl Eva Pieachowski - beautiful, clever, popular, etc - is dating Luke Jones, a scholarship boy from what is deemed a “bad family”. When Eva is found dead in the woods, all suspicions seem to point towards “obsessed boyfriend” Luke, the school bad boy and Eva’s bit of rough. Is he really guilty? And if he isn’t, who did murder Eva?

The story is cleverly plotted and told via several narrative strands. We hear from Luke, Eva’s friend Siobhan (who’s a complete idiot, by the way), police detective’s daughter Carolina among others, interspersed with excerpts from Eva’s diary, anonymous blog posts and even WhatsApp messages.

Fact and fiction, truth and lies are skilfully interwoven keeping the reader guessing throughout. While I had quite a bit of sympathy for Luke, nevertheless there was doubt all the way through regarding his possible guilt or innocence.

I thought the characters were well drawn although some could perhaps have been developed more. The ending, when it came, was both shocking and as other reviewers have pointed out, somewhat inconclusive - I need to know what happens next to the characters, particularly Luke, in the light of that ending!

There were a couple of areas where disbelief had to be suspended and certain aspects of the police investigation, in particular, were difficult to swallow.

An excellent read which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I loved this book! I was hooked from the start and read the whole book in one sitting.
It is set in Wimbledon Common, where a community is searching for Eva, a young girl who has been missing for 5 days. She is found, murdered, in the woods, after a party which all the main characters attended. The text is intermingled with diary entries, blogs and WhatsApp conversations which add another layer of intrigue to the story, and is something I really enjoy. Eva's boyfriend, Luke, is arrested near the beginning of the book for the murder, but there is always a suspicion that the sequence of events are completely clear. Throughout the book we learn more about the characters and their relationships with each other, but there is always the feeling the reader doesn't have all the facts. The ending is brilliant, and I would definitely recommend picking up a copy.

It Ends with you by S.K.Wright made for a compelling read although it’s a shame the novel is being promoted as YA book as I think this may stop the more mature reader picking this one it. I’m far from being a young adult but I actually found this book made for a compelling read and one I throughly enjoyed

4.5 stars

This was absolutely crack-tastic. Literally couldn’t put it down. There’s a fine thread of social commentary that runs through the narrative that’s far more apparent in hindsight. The plotting leaves the reader reeling before challenging their preconceptions yet again. It really is an amazingly compulsive book that will keep you guessing – and therefore I don’t want to give away any detail because it’s best not to know what you’re getting into. The only niggle for me was that incredibly frustrating ending. It is hard with thrillers like this to manage the dismount and unfortunately this had a few wobbles. Still an excellent book and I highly recommend it.

I found this a very anticlimactic book. It went exactly as expected - beautiful rich girl & bad boy - check, girl murdered - check - boy accused - doubts cast - trial etc etc.

This book could easily be a 4-5 star read, if it wasn't for that ending, or lack of ending. This is a YA thriller taking place among high school students. Eva is a very bright and very beautiful girl, who goes missing. Luke is her boyfriend, who's the 'bad boy' of the school. When they find Eva dead in a pit in the woods, all eyes turn to Luke, but is he really the killer?
I was hooked from the beginning. It's not an original subject, full of cliches. But, it was very well written, high pace book to put you on the edge all the time. I couldn't read any other books I was reading just to know who was the killer. It was really hard to guess. I loved how complex were the characters and the relationships between them. I think the writer has a lot of potential building a plot like this. It somehow dragged a bit through the end. Addition of a couple of characters much later in an 'out of the blue' way was a bit weird. But I was still eagerly waiting to cross the finish line! I had a few guesses, but I was not sure, which made it a perfect thriller
I'm not a reader who likes abrupt endings. I want the author to tie things up really well, leave nothing to my imagination, especially in a thriller. I'm not sure if this is a stand alone, or it's a prep for a sequel. But, it's a big shame as it was a really good one.
I would highly recommend it if you're OK with unclear endings.
Thanks a lot to NetGalley and the publisher Atom for granting an ARC for an honest review.

Am I the only person who hated the ending? This book was such a roller coaster ride, so enjoyable but I didn't make peace by the way it ended. There is no news of a sequel but I feel like I've been cheated, as I kind of didn't find out what really happened!
Apart from the ending, the way the story is told and the characters were really nicely done. Good YA thriller, wish the ending was better.

This was a book that I requested based on the fact that I'd really enjoyed previous novels from this author.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect but what I got was a book that wouldn't allow me to put it down.

A girl gone missing, last seen arguing with her boyfriend in the woods, seems like a straight forward case but you never know what you might find in the woods!

Every few pages I was so sure that I had managed to work out just what had happened, who'd committed that crime and then another curve ball was thrown in.

Whilst I'd love to give this story 5 stars it fell slightly short for me because of two things.

Firstly some of the writing came across as too childish, I know it was being told from a teenagers point of view but it just didn't make me feel the emotions that I'm sure the author was trying to generate and that brings me on to my second point.

Over all the tale is a clever one, a great concept, the mix of thriller, crime and mystery was a well balanced however I felt there were certain moments that were perhaps rushed, brushed over, they lacked a certain detail to give it that real 'OMG' factor.

It Ends With You is a book that will keep you on your toes and the ending is certainly not one you could guess because the real question is who is the 'you' that it ends with?

I went into this novel with open eyes and a lot of excitement. The premise is very interesting!

The book has a lot of different POV and this irritated me a little bit. I loved the social media bits that were injected in the story, it was very well done.
I liked the story a lot but I found the ending very lacking. I was hoping for a more conclusive ending. All in all, I did really enjoy reading this and would recommend it!

An intense YA novel which captures the feelings of a group of late teens in the period after one of their friends is murdered.

Eva is the prettiest, most popular and brightest member of their year at school. Why did she end up dead in a pit? All the evidence points to her boyfriend Luke. He is the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, a scholarship student at a school with entitled students.

The narrative is shared between Luke, his friend Rob, Eva's diary, her friend Siobhan, an anonymous blog, Carolina, the daughter of the investigating police officer, DI Jackson, the officer concerned and in just one case, the mysterious Astra.

The language used feels very appropriate for the age group and clearly articulates their fears and concerns. It pulls no punches about drugs, sex and the reality of self-obsessed teenagers. It has an important message about how, at that age, we judge ourselves and others. I really enjoyed getting into the minds of these characters. I wonder if a sequel is planned? It would be good.

Highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you.

Oh I didn't like this at all! IMy mistake as i didn't realise it was a YA novel until later. It read like one with all the mentions of instagram and the snippets from social media. Very true to life in the way that the boyfriend of the girl is always the one suspected of her murder but by the end I still wasn't sure who it was (although not him) I needed answers!

I admit to getting muddled during this with its six narrators and several flits here and there. Probably not the intended target for this kind of read. Set in Wimbledon though? that was interesting.

Didn't get over the net for me sadly. But it will be game set and match for others of this genre. (sorry)

This book starts with Luke’s story: he isn’t having a ‘play fight’ with his friend at school when the police some and take him for questioning. His girlfriend Eve is missing. When she is several days later found dead, Luke is the prime suspect. The story is told from different perspectives - Luke, Siobhan, Rob and Carolina being among then. I found that the characters were well rounded and had both sympathetic and unsympathetic sides to them. No one was quite who they appeared to be. I was keen to keep reading to find out what had happened but found the ending disappointing as I wanted more of a resolution than the author gives you.

I received an ecopy of this book from Netgalley. It was listed as YA and I am about as far from being a young adult as you can get but based on the fact that I rarely find books that feature my age group I didn't think this would be a problem.

Then there was the fact that there were many mistakes which could have been picked up by beta readers.

Although it was based in Wimbledon it felt much more like an American novel.

On top of that a lot of what took place was just so unlikely; I mean do detectives get to keep their guns at home? I'd have thought not but I am sure that the author must have done their research.

Well despite all of the above and the cliffhanger ending (so unsatisfactory) there was just something about this book that was just captivating. Maybe it was the multi character narration which worked really well and gave the reader a good understanding of each of the characters. Whatever the magic ingredient was, assuming the ending indicates a follow up novel I will be keeping an eye out for it.

I’m sorry to say this was a DNF for me. I really wanted to love this book. It has such an amazing premise! I just felt that the actual writing was off. I couldn’t feel Luke’s emotions at all.

The one thing that really put me off this book was Luke. I do like the idea that the main character is in no way perfect, but I feel Luke oversteps a line. He is a literal thug.

If I had to change something crutial about this book,it would be person that it is written in. If it was in third person,it would be a more interesting read. It would add that thrill of realising it wasn’t Luke who hurt Eva.

Overall,a good premise that was not executed in the right way.

It Ends With You is an intriguing read. Interspersed with diary entries, Instagram pictures, and WhatsApp messages it's the story of Eva, the golden girl of St. Martin's who is brutally murdered. The obvious suspect is her boyfriend, Luke, the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Right from the beginning everyone treats him as the culprit even though he knows he is innocent, people that he thought were his friends and even teachers that he thought had his back.

It Ends With You is the story of a murder, an innocent boy and just how wrong the authorities can get it. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, right up to the end, with some fantastically tense writing, multiple points of view that each add something new, and a vast array of characters who could could be the guilty party.

Where It Ends With You lost me was with the last chapter and that ending, either meant to lead you down the wrong path of to set the scene for a possible sequel. This is just a personal observation as I know there are people who love stories with dubious Endings but I like my stories to be tied up with a bow and nearly finished. However, I was sufficiently hooked that should there be a sequel I will more than likely read it!
