The best thing about this book is Izzy, our MC, and one of the kindest characters ever. She is kind and caring. Really kind and caring, without a mean bone in her. And I appreciated it quite a lot. This is a fast reading, ideal if you just want something slightly different and not demanding at all. It would be an amazing book if you are thinking about using (or are you using) a dating app or service because it is full of tips and it helps you give perspective on all your encounters, date, and whatever. It could really be a helpful guide to it, and throw in a bit of fun and office drama. But as a story per-se, it was a bit understated. I enjoyed it, but it is not a book that would stay with me. It was good to take a fresh breath between more demanding fantasy (because I am reading quite a lot of them at present), that's for sure!

A light-hearted, funny foray into the world of dating! (specifically 31 dates in 31 days). The perfect easy read for a lazy summer day, it won't fail to make you chuckle.

Thanks to Bloodhound Books and Netgalley for sending me this in exchange for an open and honest review.

This made me laugh and enjoy the book because I know it will never happen to me, I mean come on, how do you get a lot of dates in a small amount of time? This is just very entertaining and I devour every page.

I love the cover for this book and that tag line – 31 Days. 31 Dates – along with the blurb had me really intrigued and I knew this was definitely a book I would want to read – as soon as it arrived on my Kindle I jumped right in!

I loved the concept and Izzy is a fabulous character and I loved going on the dates ‘with’ her, it is a very funny book in places and I loved the way the book was set out and I loved the ending – and best of all this book brought back some memories!!

I think the book pretty much covered most of the men you meet, it was funny at times and probably takes you through the full range of emotions you do feel when you are on the dating scene! It did make me realise that I’ve been with my husband for over 10 years now and I am so glad all this is behind me!!

Four stars from me for this one, a very enjoyable story that gave me quite a few giggles – highly recommended!

This book was a quick read. This would be a great book for the beach or during the summer. The book was funny but something was lacking in it. Each chapter (more or less) is a different date and it just started to become too many dates for me. Overall though I enjoyed the book.

A totally enjoyable feel good book about a journalist who agrees to date a bloke a night for a month. This leads to some unexpected and sometimes hilarious results.

At times hilarious and I smiled my way through the whole book. Living reasonably local to the author meant I recognised all the venues and that made it even more enjoyable to me.

I loved it.

31 days – 31 dates truly sounds exhausting, confusing and exhilarating at the same time. “The Serial Dater’s Shopping List” was a great, lighthearted summer time read. Having done my fair share on online dating I thought I would truly enjoy this book and I was right. Some of Izzy’s dates reminded me of my own which had me laughing and all of her dates had me reconsidering doing online dating again.

I do have to admit that the ending was a little frustrating for me. I felt like while some things were resolved there needed to be a little more context there before ending the story. Too much is left up to the reader’s imagination, which while some like that I do not. In addition, I knew before starting this book that it was a UK title and therefore would reference many British things. However, I was not expecting to be so confused at times but the slang terms Izzy used. All in all though I truly enjoyed this book. Not something that kept me up at night wanting me to read, but it was enjoyable. I received my copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

This is my kind of book. I love books about dating especially online dating. I wish there was more books about online dating. I found this book to be funny and well written. I did have a way I wanted the book to go and I was pleased how it ended. I loved her friend Donna, but didn't think izzy spoke that highly of her even though they were best friends. Even though the book was about izzy and her dating experiences I'd like to see a book about Donna written.

Thanks goes to net galley and the publishers for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Isobel MacFarlane is a technological writer for a Northampton newspaper. That is until William her boss gives her a new assignment. She is tasked with setting up a profile on a dating site and going on 31 dates in 31 days and then writing about each of her dates for the paper. What a great read so thank you Netgalley and the Publisher.

Isobel is a new-40-something who writes a tech column for the local paper, and has a boss who wants something “more”. Challenging her to write a column on internet dating, 31 dates in 31 days – he sets her assignment. And at first, there is a solid sense of “why not” from Izzy, as she makes her list of ‘likes”, establishes her profile and gets ready to go. She’s not entirely alone in this ‘search’ either for a man or navigating the maze of ‘social life after 20’, as her colleague, the ‘health and beauty’ columnist Donna is in a similar boat…

Morgen Bailey presents the ups and downs of the dating world, using an internet matching site as the way in. From meeting Mr. Maybe all the way through the possibilities to Mr. Never on a Bet, Isobel is tested, often to the point of stretching too far. There’s not a ton of changes for Isobel, but she’s taking strategic breaks from the assignment to get to better know her colleague Donna as they dissect each ‘date’ and go through the little one could glean in the (often) thankfully short exposure to Day whatever’s date. More time away from the assignment comes in the form of Izzy’s family and her conversations and time spent with her niece, getting to Lola and her tiny quirks – all of which served to take Izzy from a rather superficial and stereo-typically flat character with the emotional depth of a puddle to fill her out, marginally, It’s not a story that challenges or requires you to rework your expectations of characters or situations – but it really isn’t meant to be – there’s little depth or scope for challenge here. And that isn’t always a bad thing – this is a getaway, escape read that won’t require your full attention or great examination as to motive, character or even plot. A solid, if uninspiring beach read.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This was a fun and clever look at online dating in the 21st century. While it was quirky and charming, it seemed to have moments of dragging along and I lost interest. I needed more discernment between the character's dates and more excitement!

A lighthearted and easy read!

The Serial Dater's Shopping List follows Izzy as she takes on an assignment at her newspaper to write about online dating. Izzy must date a different man every day for a month and write about her experiences.

The books chapters are split by date, which leaves you eagerly gorging every page wanting to know how each date goes.

Moregn Bailey does an amazing job at bringing the characters to life and makes The Serial Dater's Shopping List an easy and fun read.

I couldn't get enough of this gem!

Really enjoyed this book and the idea of Izzy going on a blind date every day for a month was one that really intrigued me. As expected, her dates were a mixed bunch and some of the dates were funny, others just totally bizarre. I couldn't wait to find out whether Izzy would hit it off with any of them. The only downside was the chapters focusing on her writing her column, which I found a bit tedious and often skipped past these parts to get to the plot. A great, light hearted read with some genuinely funny moments and I will definitely look out for more of Morgen Bailey's work in the future!
