This book was perfect to set me up for my own cruise holiday this year.

Who doesn't love reading about a romance on board a ship , with a backdrop of cocktails, glamorous evening events, seven course meals and of course all the quirky people you meet on a ship, it just makes it the perfect setting for a holiday romance read.

Loved the destinations the ship called at, New England, Nova Scotia, Rhode Island - fabulous descriptions and made me add the cruise to my wish list.

A really easy and enjoyable read - perfect for either your holiday or a sunny day in the garden..

There alot of spelling issues and sentence structure issues in the book that make it hard to even get immersed in the story. The book felt a little childish in it's writing despite being a romance novel. It was so bad that I didn't want to finish but I forced myself. I get that I read the uncorrected advance proof. However it was a bad choice releasing it for readers to review when it needed so many edits. I only hope that the book is better after it is actually released.

Alexia, our heroine, is whiney. Constantly complaining (to herself) about how her sister India is a spoiled child and will always be a spoiled child. It gets quite annoying. The blurb of the book states India is the judgemental sibling but that's not true, Alexia is. India is oblivious to anything other then herself. That's not judgemental that's just narcissistic. Alexia is constantly judging everyone around her (her sister, Gabriel).

Gabriel wasn't a bad character. He was arrogant and cold at first but not a horrible man. I dislike that he has to end up with Alexia though.

Overall, I disliked the book. It was supposed to be a comedy but alot of the things that the author was trying to make funny weren't. Alexia's weight was constantly pointed out making me think they were trying to make it a comedy about a fat girl getting a hunk. Not funny. Her sister was oblivious as hell, maybe the author trying to write the typical stereotype of the spoiled little sister. Anyway, I never laughed once at the book or any of the 'adventures' the sisters ended up having.

An absolute delight to read. Never thought I would enjoy a book about a cruise trip so much.

This was a nice story involving sisters Alex and India who end up on a luxury cruise trip won by their parents. When their parents can't go due to having already booked another non refundable trip on the same dates they gift the trip to their daughters. The trip gives India and Alex, who have a slightly strained relationship, time to get to know one another once again as sisters and friends and also serves as a hen do for India's upcoming wedding.

Lots of laugh out loud moments and I thoroughly enjoyed Alex's musings throughout the book.

A total feel good book and just what I needed to read.

A fun read about antics on board when two friends take a cruise. There’s sun and cruise activities so if you’ve not been on a cruise before you’ll experience some of it! Every chapter started with the name of a cocktail though so that sets the tone that there will be a great deal of drink involved. The cruise set sail from New York to England and apart from a few stops in New England doesn’t dock anywhere so it’s all focused on the onboard shenanigans. I love that word and it aptly describes the people here. I’m pleased the cruises I’ve been on have been different though!

It’s a nice and breezy read and there is a lot of escapism in it and the feeling that getting away from it all can prove to be great. And at least the men on board if you’re looking like Alexa aren’t going anywhere soon so for her there’s more chance of catching one. Plenty more fish in the sea comes to mind!

What happens when you take a chance on a trip? What happens when the trip is with your sister?
Watching Alexa through this book and all her insecurities made me sad for her. She went through all the emotions with India. The only thing was I wish we seen more of Alexa and Gabriel. I needed a little bit more of them together.

Fun, summery and really entertaining. This is a perfect read to spend a few hours at the beach or by the pool with. It will leave you smiling and laughing and is just a lovely lighthearted novel. I've read other novels by Maddie Please but this is by far her best.

Would recommend!

It was the cover that really attracted me to this book as so bright and inviting and it didn't disappoint me at all. A really feel good factor book and so heartwarming with laugh out loud moments and romance. It's also full of holiday and families, you feel you are with them on their holiday and you just want to keep reading.
Alexa has been working in the family estate agency for years and is also single her relationship with her sister who is younger and she is getting married and all she ever hears is wedding plans and she feels so single herself. Her mum wins a cruise ship holiday but they are already away so says that Alexa should go on it with her sister as a hen do and she feels so trapped as can't think of anything worse than being stuck with her sister talking wedding plans for so long. The sisters are so different but India the youngest is full of wedding plans and she is also judgemental and poor Alexa feel lonely and a failure. She really wishes she could find a man who was funny and she can live she meets Gabriel on the boat will they sail an adventure or will it a flop and she's stuck with her sister or will she find romance where she is not expecting it and will it last or not.
A great read and worth more than the five stars so funny.

It was the simply gorgeous cover and the mention of cruise in the blurb that lead me to finally read a book by this author. She has been on my radar for a while, but just hadn't quite been seduced enough to want to read one.

So I'm really glad I did try this book, as it is really enjoyable even if its not quite the book I was hoping for. You see I'm a massive fan of cruising, but of the less formal ships than the one than Alexa and India was sailing on, so although I was curious about the ship they were on, I could tell from the first descriptions of it that it wouldn't match my own experiences.

Equally from the cover I was expecting a lovely bright summery cruise, so discovering it was a New York to Southampton transatlantic itinerary taking in a couple of New England ports in September didn't have me quite as excited. That being said I loved the description of the ports and could feel myself there alongside the girls.

It may be that I initially stopped reading the blurb after the first line, as I hadn't twigged that the hen--do would just be Alexa and her sister, I was half expecting a group of giggling girls and cocktails all over the place.

Well there was certainly cocktails and every other alcohol you can name involved, as the girls run up a massive bar bill and probably caused their livers severe damage in the process. I loved how every chapter started with the name of cocktail and its ingredients which did put you in a holiday frame of mind.

I also loved the descriptions of the food and activities on board the ship which all seemed incredibly realistic. There really is such huge selections of food and drink available all day and night on most ships. I also enjoyed getting to know the other couples at the ladies table of 6 for dinner each night in the formal dining room.

The nightlife all struck true to me and there were plenty of elements of the cruise that I did recognise from my own holidays, so the book was clearly well researched.

This is a very enjoyable read and for those curious about cruising it would be a great introduction to what life on board could be like.
