Wow ..what can I say Samantha Towle did it again ...absolutely bloomin fabulous.
I can’t tell you how much I love the Kincaid family and reading this second instalment in this series was like a family reunion.
Ares (superstar footballer) meets Ari (an artist and recovering alcoholic) in a locker room on Aris first day at work after some trouble she landed herself in gets her sacked from her job at a gallery and she has to go to work for her father who is the coach of a football team. It’s quite the surprise ...
On my first impression of Ares I thought he was an arrogant piece of work and quite mean to Ari when he learns who she is ,I felt so sorry for Ari for his reaction to her I wanted to reach out and hug her he was so awful..so they avoid each other but it hurts Aris feelings.
Something special happens when they bump into each other out of work one day while Ares is with little sis missy (Yayy) and it’s like the sun comes out ....we finally see Ares for who he really is and then boom I fell in love with him (pushes Zeus out the way)....you will have to find the rest out for yourselves lol.
I loved their story in all the sadness and mistakes and mistrust that happened around them made them see what each other wanted and needed in their lives.
I was so happy to catch up with Zeus and Cam again (still swooning) it’s lovely when characters you loved pop up in another........can’t help but love this.
Be warned you will not be able to put it down and I devoured this once again in one sitting...I’m writing this at 4:51 am lol....this author will do this to you.
FULL DISCLOSURE.....ALWAYS........I can’t wait for the next ...bring it on. X

If you're after a quick read that doesn't fall short of all the magical ingredients that make up a good romance, then look no further then Samantha Towle's "Rush." Honestly, this author didn't compromise on the quality of this story despite this being a pretty short book. Instead she packed quite the punch when delivering Ares' story and surprised me a little too in the sense that I wasn't expecting quite so much angst and heart ache. Ladies and gents, prepare to feel that squeeze on the old heart time and time again as you navigate your way through this couple's bumpy journey.

Samantha Towle touched a some pretty tough subject matters which I feel were handled in a very realistic and believable way and because of this, we saw some pretty turbulent times for each of the main characters. Ares had issues. Ari had issues. They shouldn't have worked. In fact they initially didn't courtesy of Ares. One minute he was all kinds of gorgeous and within a split second, he turned into this jackass of a man. Luckily Samantha Towle wrote his character well and so I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and give him time to redeem himself despite my heart taking a battering in the process.

As always with this author's work, "Rush" was a mixture of humour, wit, heart ache and angst, all perfectly packaged in this delightful standalone read (although I highly recommend you read "Ruin" too because, well Zeus is Aries' brother and of course where there's one hot brother, there's always a another and his story didn't disappoint either).

"Rush" gets 4 ❤️'s .

I'm a big nfl fan, and I'll be honest you don't see much stuff written around American football in the UK. As a result I was thrilled to see this book on net galley! Fun, fast paced and entertaining, I'll bee looking for more stuff by Samantha

For one more time Samantha Towle did an amazing job, she delivers an engaging story line and characters I could easily connect with and loved them! I have been looking forward to this second book in the Gods series since I finished Ruin. Ares and Ari are both a little broken.Ares is a well known Quarterback for a NFL team. Ari (Arianna) is the daughter of a famous NFL coach. Her father just happens to be Ares’s head coach. Ari got herself into some trouble and is forced to come and work for her dad. The romance were fantastic. These two were perfect for each other!

I liked Arianna. not so much Ares, and I didn’t like the story. It was very predictable and I found it a little tedious. It was all very obvious what was going to happen and in what order it would happen. The writing style wasn’t very captivating. I was glad for the story to be over unfortunately. I didn’t really form a proper opinion on anything. As soon as something really happened, it was over within a page or two and then the book finished. Not for me and will probably not read the author again.

A great read, with great characters, the development of them individually was brilliantly put together and what I loved more was when they came together !

Samantha, played cautiously but st the same time write perfectly in regards to the addiction and how it grips hold of you ! I appreciated how it wasn’t shown as easy or shown as straightforward and the fact that Ares was willing To learn made it all the more real ! I felt for them both and this played a massive part as to how I felt about this book !

I adored it !

"Ares hates alcoholics, which is fine with Ari because she thinks he's a brainless jock. Yet when Ares rescues Ari from a situation with her ex-boyfriend, an unlikely friendship begins - one that quickly becomes more."

Sam has gone and done it again!!!

This woman and her words.... I love her and them.

I loved Rush because Zeus & Cam are such a great couple. But I'm totally loving Ares & Ari's book so much more.

Ari and Ares first meeting haha... She's soaking wet in the Giants locker room in a yoga pose then in walks Ares wondering what the hell she's doing. I didnt half giggle.

Ares ♡ As soon as he finds out who Ari is he's an idiot. He does have his reasons. It still made me want to slap him for acting the way he did. But when they start to become friends I totally start to love him more and more.

Ari ♡ I LOVE HER!!! She may of made some mistakes and bad choices but she totally turns her life around and wants to do better. I love the way she and Ares are together.

I was giggling alot, swooning near enough all the way through, laughing at certain parts and yep you guessed it got teary at a few parts too.

This has got to be one of my favourites from Sam so far.

Well done Sam on another amazing book xx

Another great book from Samantha Towle. This is the second book featuring a Kincaid brother (Ruin being the first), great characters and a good flowing story. The story deals with one of the main characters addiction to alcohol, and the trails they face. Well worth a read 5/5 A***

I absolutely love Samantha Towle books & this one is no exception. I was gripped from the very beginning & couldn't stop reading until I had finished the book.

I could literally feel the emotions pouring from the pages & I felt such an affinity with Ari that I found myself constantly blinking back tears as I could totally relate to how she was feeling during her lowest times.

Ares is the epitome of every woman's fantasy and I loved the way their relationship developed & the chemistry was so hot I needed a cold shower!

I absolutely can't wait for Missy & Lo's stories

I love love love Ares!!
Wow another amazing read from Samantha Towle I was literally gripped from the very first word to the point I was up until 3am I just didn't want to put it down. It has everything love, romance, angst and tears. Great character development and a strong storyline make for the perfect read.

Ares and Ari start out with a love hate relationship mainly on Ares part. Ari has suffered some difficulties in her past and even though she's trying to move past everything that happened Ares is unable to see past what he knows that is until he becomes her knight in shining armour and makes the time to really get to know her. As they progress in their relationship they find their trust in each other tested will they be able to move forward or fall at the first hurdle?

An exceptional 5 star read for me and I'm really hoping we get Missy's story next!

I've been dying to get my hands to this book. To be honest, I'm dying to get my hands on any Samantha Towle book. Her writing never fails to grip me and pull me into her worlds, and Rush was no exception.

I've been in a bit of a reading funk lately, but this book managed to pull me out of it. From the first page it hooked me and I couldn't put it down. How Ares and Ari met made me chuckle and I felt the spark as their relationship developed. I thought as a couple they worked together and there was just the right amount of drama and chemistry to keep things interesting.

Overall, another really enjoyable read I'd definitely recommend. To be honest, I'd recommend any of Samantha's work and I can't wait to see what she releases next.

Rush by Samantha Towle was absolutely incredible. I felt like it was second nature to read her words.

Ares and Arianna's story was so touching, and the story of this novel was real. It touched on real issues that affect people in a very personal way: addiction. Arianna is a recovering alcoholic, and seeing her journey, not only through that, but as to how it affected her relationship with Ares, who with his own issues, was incredible.

The novel gripped me entirely. I couldn't put it down, not even to remember eating. I felt the words that were written, and I fell in love with this author's words all over again. My Heart was completely enraptured by it!

This novel was so touching, insightful and enrapturing. This author has become one of my unicorn authors and I cannot wait to see what she has in store next!

4.5 Stars in my Sky!

Arianna's had a really flipping terrible time of it recently. It's Rachel Green (from Friends) bad: "today, it's like there's rock bottom, then 50 feet of crap, then me!" She went to rehab and lost her dream job, so when her Dad offers her a position she of course says yes. Arianna's Dad is the coach for American football team, the New York Giants. To say her first day doesn't entirely go as planned is a HUGE understatement...

Ares Kincaid is the Giants' star Quarterback and all round hottie (well he is Zeus's younger brother so what would you expect?)! He's infuriating and cocky, but loyal and full of all the usual Sam Towle BBF goodness. Ares has some pretty firm rules when it comes to certain issues, so Arianna's past may be tough for him to move past.

I loved their chemistry. They are hot and heavy but also sweet and romantic. I REALLY wanted them to find a HEA.

I love the Kincaid's. It was great to see more of the siblings in RUSH. Missy is all kinds of awesome!!

Sam Towle really knows how to give good woo! She tugs at the heartstrings by making her readers smile, swoon and rant. More than anything she creates complicated and lovable characters.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review!

I’ve been so excited for this after reading Ruin earlier this year which became of my fave reads this year, and Sam does not let us down!

Arianna Petrelli is trying to get her life back on track! She’s recently out of rehab and is 6 months sober, so she’s starting with a new job, Team assistant for the Giants, who’s coach is her father!
After a bad start to her first day, Ari finds herself in an awkward position when she comes face to face with the Giants Star Quarterback, Ares Kincaid!
At first the way he looks at her is making her melt but once he finds out who she is, his demeanour and tone changes towards her becoming rude and abrupt. It’s no secret by his attitude he dislikes her but when she comes face to face with her drunken ex-boyfriend, Ares steps in to help, from then on these two form a friendship she thought would never happen which then only leads to more. But it’s not quite plain sailing for them especially when Ares finds it difficult to trust an alcoholic!

I devoured this story! It kept me up all night because I was so hooked I could not put it down! I absolutely Loved both characters especially Ari’s attitude, strength and determination to overcome her addiction and not give up and moving on from bad times in her life.

This story is an emotional one and will take you on a journey i’ll warn you it’s going to bring a lot of tears – it did me!
A couple of times the story took my breath away and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough, I was completely engrossed by it!
This one gives you all the feels!!

I love Sam’s writing and this story is no different and delicately covers some sensitive topics.

What a book, I thought it would be really hard to out do Ruin but this book was completely on par with it. This series is proving be be a brilliant one and is right up there with The Mighty Storm. I complete devoured this book over a few hours being disturbed by sleep which was annoying. But that's just life for you.

The book is based on Ares and Arianna. Their relationship is rocky to say the least and you really can't see anyway forward for them as they can even stand the sight of each other but it just builds and builds. Things happen to cause them to speak and I was thrilled. The story takes many turns in all directions and we are left with a completely amazing story. The family make cameos and it's a joy to get a little peak at them all again.

This author just knows how to write a romance and although it's angst filled it really not over the top. It's real and believable. I highly recommend this fantastic read, that I just couldn't put down. Bring on the next one. I really can't wait.

Arianna Petrelli’s new job comes with the chance of a fresh start. Never mind the fact she’s the disgraced daughter of NFL head coach of the New York Giants, her father has pulled some strings and secured a role for her as the teams assistant, whatever that means.

She’s insightful enough to realise the position has been created by way of means for her father to keep a close eye on her. But after hitting rock bottom with a DUI arrest, a stint in rehab and the loss of her dream job Ari is seizing the opportunity to get her life back on track.

Her first day on the job veers dramatically off course when she finds herself one on one with star quarterback Ares Kincaid. They have an easy back and forth which comes to a screeching halt when he discovers who she is, or more specifically, what she has done. She’s used to the looks of disgust she garners from her arrest, but admittedly his rejection stings more than most.

What Ari doesn’t know is that Ares hostility is borne from his own experiences with his alcoholic father. He thinks her callous and selfish and isn’t afraid to tell her so. It isn’t until Ares is forced to step in between an incident with her and her ex-boyfriend does he begin to see the real Ari. If he’s honest with himself even with his preconceived notions about her, he’s frustrated by how much he can’t stop thinking about her.

I loved that Ari had no hesitations in accepting accountability. She strove to maintain her sobriety and was focused on the betterment of herself, and because of this I was struck by how quickly I become emotionally attached to her.

The fiery beginning of their nemeses evolved into an intense and heartfelt relationship that I quickly became obsessed with. On par with the story it had depth and sentiment making it a highly enjoyable read.

Addictive, emotional and passionate, Rush is Samantha Towle at her best.

What a read. What a book. What a whole lot of emotional wasteland. I shouldn't be surprised though, this is a Sam Towle book after all. This author really does know how to crank up the temperature and the pressure in a way that feels natural, and realistic.

Every time I read a book penned by this writer I realise how much of a student of the human condition she is. Never once has she taken the easy way out, staying true to the characters. That's not to say that they're all perfectly formed and everything comes easy to them. For some sure do have talent. Whilst others are enduring survivors, and when they're really special people they have both. Talent and creativity is their saviour when the world is so dark and black it appears as if the sun has fallen out of the sky and the world feels as if it will never smile or hold hope again.

Ari is attempting to rebuild her life after many years of bad choices. Her addiction weighs heavily on her; getting through each day is a Herculean effort. I won't go into her addiction more, purely because I want every reader to explore Ari’s story with new, fresh eyes.

I will say that Ari is hard on herself. More than just guilt ridden she really does dislike herself. And I'm not just talking about her bad choices. Her skeletons in the closet are old and unwise. They hound her continuously day in and day out. If only she could figure out how to separate herself from her demons and live a freer life. Can she move passed her nightmares and come out the other side healthy and happy?

Ares is of course, still a hothead and extremely judgemental. Having read Ruin, I can surely understand why, but his hang-up’s aren’t a weapon to batter other people with.

He’s a big softie of a guy when you get through his concrete exterior, family is the most important thing to him, above all else. He is larger than life, just like his big brother Zeus. Knowing how much he gave up providing for his younger siblings just makes him easier to love.

He’s a dedicated athlete, much like Zeus, and is harder on himself then anyone else will ever be. To me, Ares appears to be a man who prefers to be isolated. He doesn’t like discussing his private life or his past, knowing where he comes from I can’t say I blame him.

Okay, so. I’ve discussed the characters and my opinion of the story, which leads me breathlessly into the best part of Rush. The romance. As is in the style of this author, the reader spends plenty of frustrated time wondering how long it’ll take before these two fall on to each other like starving wolves after a kill. They are exactly what the other needs to begin the healing process. Plus the smexy is as hot as a naked flame.

‘I’m picked up and pressed against the door by a hot, hard football player as he kisses me.

And it’s the wettest, dirtiest kiss I’ve ever had in my life.

“I’ve been wanting to do that all night,” he rumbles against my lips.

“Feel free to keep doing it,” I say breathlessly.’

Knowing Ares the way we do, of course he doesn’t make things easy. I wanted so badly to knock some sense into him, the amount of pain and anguish he dished out to Ari was so hard to swallow for me. I had a conversation earlier with someone about his behaviour and their comments made me see Ares’ point of view better. However, being the reviewer that I am, I need to mention one small, tiny issue. This doesn’t even detract anything from this book for me; I just feel it warrants mentioning. When of course there’s a meeting of the minds and the sun comes back out to shine. I just feel that perhaps that the sun came out a little too quickly and didn’t just allow the clouds to glide across the sky a little more.

Pick almost any works by Ms. Towle and you'll find addiction and broken pieces though to this reviewers mind, it isn't used for shock or awe, not at all. This speaks of talent and when an addiction or problem is there the story telling moves fluidly, taking on an almost lifelike shape. Research so evidently has been done, how else could someone create characters so realistic and three dimensional.

You can be sure of a tear jerker and so many conflicting emotions you're as confused and broken, at times, as the people on the pages are. The best art imitates life and with that purity of character and being steadfast are oftentimes not enforced. In some really great reads I've seen authors take the easy way out so that they don't appear cruel or disgusting. Ms. Towle doesn't sugar coat anything, she isn't Willy Wonka, she isn’t creating confectionery, and I thank my lucky stars she's in the business she's in.

This is such an amazing series and one which leaves you pining for more from the characters. Each and every character that we’ve met has swept me off my feet and have rewarded me with a fond and lasting memory.

Ares and Arianna’s story was definitely a turbulent and emotional one. Both characters made me frustrated a times, especially Ares, and I really just wanted to bang their heads together but then hug them - if you read the story you’ll see why!

Given the problems faced by the characters (alcoholism, mental health, family sagas) the story really pulls at your heartstrings. There are certainly plenty of highs and lows, that’s for sure.

As always, the author’s writing style is what made the story what is it. You can’t help but fall head first into her novels and this series has definitely left me wanting more.

I absolutely loved Rush. As not only was the story extremely realistic, absorbing and emotional. But the two main characters, Aries who was an arsehole with a soft underbelly and Ari, who was gritty, relatable and endearing were fab and worked really well together. And I adored how their relationship, developed, deepened and changed as this story progressed. As well as the mix of sweetness and heat they offered. Yet, there were times when I felt things were a little rushed. But that's only because I wanted to savour every single moment spent with them. And honestly it didn't ruin my enjoyment or love of this story one bit.

And I would happily recommend Rush to others and look forward to reading more from both this fantastic author and series in the future.
