Great story, of course it's a classic. It just so long to describe one event, not exactly my style of writing. I enjoyed the story as much as enjoy any other classic.

If new covers and pictures will lead a new generation of readers to Anne (with an e) of Green Gables, then I am all for it, despite growing up with the covers that I have loved.

The book itself has been beloved for years, to there is no need to review the story, just to say that a new presentation of it is always welcome.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

Classic and beautifully written, this book is one of my wife’s favorites. It’s a tale of childhood and wonder...and one I would gladly share with readers, both old and young.

This book is a classic for a reason! Anne was a strong female protagonist when there were fewer of them, but she is just as appealing now as when I read this as a kid. I'm sure that my students will enjoy this book, and highly recommend it!

I am a huge fan of Anne of Green Gables and am always looking for different editions and formats of it as it is one of my favorite series of all time. This edition by Sweet Cherry Publishing comes with a new cover that is sure to attract younger readers.

With all of the re-boots of Anne, many already know her tale by now, but for those who are new: Anne is a young orphan girl who is taken in by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert of Green Gables. They had originally been looking for a little boy to help them with the farm work as Matthew is aging, but they get Anne. At first, they are not quite sure what to do with her and try to "return" her, but thankfully, they end up keeping her. Reading Anne is just a delight. Despite all the hardship she has gone through, she is so optimistic and views the world through rose colored glasses. Any time I need a pick me up, I can turn to Anne and know she'll have some beautiful words to share with me. I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages! I read it first as an elementary school student and then again as an adult and got even more out of it. This is truly a classic.

An amazing first introduction to classic literature. I enjoyed this book as a child and this edition with the illustrations has transported me back to my childhood - what a treat!

I remember watching the Anne of Green Gables movie and absolutely loving it, so I decided to give the book a chance. I am very glad I did because I adored every moment of it. I was smiling pretty much all the way through, I even shed some tears at a couple of moments and it just was everything I wished for and dare I say, even more. I'm too soft for this.

Anne is honestly such an endearing character who has many flaws, like all people do, but you can't help but to love. I felt sorry for her but I also loved her with all my might. Furthermore, the rest of the characters felt so real too, and I honestly could just read a 500 page book all about Gilbert and I'd be perfectly happy.

Our oldest daughter loves Anne of Green Gables! Such a great story and amazing illustration! The story is fit perfectly for a young reader and also gives much knowledge! I would absolutely recommend this book to others with young readers at home.

I immediately fell in love with this book — and with Anne. As the girl herself, the book is positive and when I read it, it was always with joy and happy thoughts. All the adventures Anne had — in her head or not — were always amusing. Whatever happened, Anne learned a lesson and matured a little.

I particularly love the friendship between Anne and Diana, her neighbor. It is so pure! They are kindred spirits. The same kindred spirits Anne has searched since she was little. And she found another one in Matthew. There are so many lovely friendships in this book, it makes me happy, platonic relationships are really important to me and Anne of Green Gables is full of it AND they’re beautifully written, what could be better?

Maybe Gilbert Blythe. He offended Anne once by making fun of her hair so obviously now she won’t speak to him — won’t even say his name. But is he discouraged? No. He tries and tries to be nice to her, to help her, to save her so she will forgive him. Every other girl at Avonlea pines for him but Gilbert has only eyes for Anne.

I think if you should read this book for just one thing, it would be for Anne’s speeches. She talks and talks and talks and has an amazing imagination, I wonder what it would be like to be in her head or just to hear her talk, I think I would be losing myself in it.
