Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

I enjoyed this book , I didn't know what to expect from Denise Welch but it surprised me. It was a very believable story that happens too often in real life . It really goes into detail about why the child was adopted and the lies you tell to protect yourself. Would recommend this book

Kathryn Casey has a secret past. But these days she barely notices the little daily lies she tells to keep it hidden. She has a new identity now. All she wants is an orderly, predictable life that revolves around her beloved husband and children.
Kathryn was once Kelly, a girl who lived on one of the roughest estates in the north and got pregnant as a teen. When she moved away, she left the past behind. Now there's a stranger in her kitchen, and he knows more about her than he is letting on. What does he want? Has he come for help or is he planning to wreck her life?
Will Kathryn finally have to admit to her family that she isn't who they think she is?

Wow Wow.......... I haven't read any of Denise Welch books and boy i will be now. A new start a new idenity and most of all a happy marriage and a lovely family and a horrible past long behind her or so she thought until one day Boom!!! Everything has changed and can she save her family and keep the past from breaking her family. This books takes you to Kelly childhood and the events that leads up to her current life. Can the two mix together????
I was lucky to receive this book from Netgalley and I was very happy to do so as this book stopped me doing any housework and took me away into the life of Kelly.

The Mother's Bond by Denise Welch was the story of hardships and growing up, it is also full of secrets, lies and hidden truths.
I was unable to connect with the characters in this book and the bad language was very off putting.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Little Brown Book Group UK for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

"The Mother's Bond" is a bittersweet story about a woman overcoming the tragedies and difficulties she suffered in her life, and rekindling relationships and affections she though were long gone.
I never read anything written by Denise Welch, even though I knew her name thanks to her acting career, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book.
Even though I'm not very much into women's fiction, being basically a lot younger than the women that are the main characters in these stories, I felt that I could relate a lot to the main character. Not on what happened to her, but on her way of thinking when she was a teen. I think I was like that too when I was her age, and maybe I would have taken some of her choices too.
The first half of the book, the one that focuses on her teenage years, was very hard to read because on the heavy topics, and I think there should be some trigger warnings, but the second half really flew by.
I was so curious to find out how the situation would develop.
On the negative side, I didn't particularly like how the character of Katherine evolved into a quite pathological liar when she was in her mid 30s. I expected a little bit more of maturity from a woman her age, but oh well, it wasn't something that made me hate the book, not at all.
In conclusion, I strongly suggest to read this moving story, I found it particularly inspiring overall.
Thanks again to the publisher, NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to read this book before the release date.
Closer to the 9th of August you will also be able to find my more detailed review on Goodreads and my Instagram profile.
