A mystery woman turns up in the village with little memory of who she is or where she came from. The tattoo on her arm may be the only clue to her identity.
Tony and Laura are newlyweds living in the house the woman claims to have sort of connection with. To give her some sort of identity and in the absence of any other name he calls her Jemima. They generously offer a bed for the night and Tony ominously says “Welcome home”.
There are plenty of secrets in this story but you have to be good to work out the answers. I couldn’t help thinking the attic held the answer to at least one of them. There also seem to be a lot of people with issues which I felt made it harder to spot the culprit.
One of my favorite characters was Silas the police officer with a very human feel to him
This is an amazing story full of suspicion, incredible twists and an ending leaving you with questions and answers. At one stage the writer even had me imagining Jemima as some sort of terrorist. You will learn that forgiveness is a luxury not everyone can afford.
This is a must read for anyone who loves a good crime mystery psychological thriller.
A bit thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a few digital copy in return for an honest review.

The opening to this book draws the reader straight into a really gripping story which continues to move along at a steady pace. Later the plot becomes more sinister and the characters more complex. There are many unexpected twists and turns and one is left reeling until the absolute end. A great book which I would not hesitate to recommend.

I got into the story fairly quick enough, but then I found the playing out a little bit too slow. The characters and plot were well thought out and besides the pace I enjoyed reading the book.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Head of Zeus!

I almost gave up on this book so many times. The plot centres around a young woman with amnesia, who only knows where she lives... but someone else lives there now. This is the first point at which some incredibly ridiculous things keep happening - it’s full of huge coincidences, massive plot twists which conspire to make the whole thing very unbelievable. But hey, if books were all realistic they’d be boring, wouldn’t they?! An entertaining read, but one which you definitely have to suspend some disbelief to get through!

(Thanks to the publishers for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review)

The title and synopsis caught my attention and I started reading, it kept me hooked from the beginning and I couldn't put it down.

I had no idea where this thriller was going but I kept reading and glad I did.

This is the first book I have read by JS Monroe and I have read a lot of good thrillers but I think JS Monroe will be added to this list.

I'm looking forward to reading more from this author

An absolutely fascinating tale about a lost lady turning up at someone's front door with an unbelievable tale to tell. Needless to say, the unbelievable tale has lots of blind alleys and wrong turns before finding its way to a wonderful climax. Well worth a read but perhaps not so much if you live in a small village. ;-)

I love this type of book and the premise behind Forget My Name is an intriguing one. A girl shows up at your doorstep, she can't remember anything about herself, not even her name, but there are flashes where she can remember the layout of the house that you live in, indicative of childhood memories coming through. She comes in and the thrill starts from there. Could not put this down.

I think psychological thrillers are amongst my favourite novels to read, and this one is definitely up there with the best I have had the pleasure of reading. It is a shame I can't list each specific reason I enjoyed this book without spoiling anything, so I'll hope to do justice with this review whilst remaining secretive.
Monroe continuously twists and spirals the plot out of our grasp and into an unnerving shadow, one of which reveals the darkest secrets of each of those involved.
The main plot of this novel follows the unexpected arrival of a woman who cannot remember her own name, or anything else for that matter, other than the fact that she used to live in the house she has knocked upon. Whilst at first I had my suspicions that this would become another novel using mental illness/a mental disorder to purposefully complicate and intensify the plot, this shifts 180 degrees and becomes a novel with a purposeful use of its involvement. The exposure of the toxicity of obsession and superiority are two themes very well woven into this novel.
I do however wish the subplot to this novel was further expanded and given the opportunity to conclude before the novel itself ended. It was a very interesting narrative running alongside the major plot, and itself aroused a very poignant discussion.
Overall, this novel was very well constructed, well written, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a interest in suspenseful reads!

A definite page-turner! This title grabbed me from the first page and just kept twisting and turning. Well written, well paced and full of surprises. Just when you think you know what is happening it races off in another direction. The characters are well drawn and believable, some with their own back stories and demons. Will definitely seek out and read his first psychological novel 'Find Me'.
Many thanks to Netgalley/J.S. Monroe/Harper Collins for a digital copy of this title. All opinions expressed are my own

I found the subject of this book to be interesting and the characters well written and engaging but I found the story to be quite slow. It didn't grip me in the way I hoped it would but aside from the pace I did enjoy it. It just needed a little more oomph!

Jolly good story keeps you guessing right to the end would definitely recommend to friends and family

Ooh I liked this one....

Thee have been a few thrillers over recent years involving amnesia, so I was prepared to not be surprised by this book by JS Monroe. But oh did it deliver! Twisty and unputdownable are too frequently banded about for this genre but that was exactly how this thriller panned out. Whatever your preconceptions, leave them behind; this chilling book won’t disappoint. I found myself up way past my bedtime in order to sneak another chapter or two,

The reason it’s not a full 5 is more down to a few little annoyances in the book, a repeat active phrase which in my opinion was way overused (I won’t sow the seed for you though!). Also the ARC had more than a few typos and discrepancies during the novel, although hopefully they will have been ironed out by the time it hits the shelves properly. It didn’t stop the over all enjoyment however.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. #forgetmyname #jsmonroe

I was really excited to read this story as I am a big fan of psychological thrillers.

A woman turns up at a house with no idea of what her name is, only that this address means something to her. She finds another couple living there. The man of the house agrees to put her up for the night.

The premise really was intriguing. The idea of having a stranger in your house is for me terrifying but unfortunately this story wasn’t for me. I thought that the storyline didn’t make any sense, especially the police involvement. It is hard to say anything else about the plot without spoiling the storyline. I didn’t care about any of the characters. I thought the story was drawn out and I got really bored in parts. I was actually close to giving up. The storyline came together in the end but it was quite a predictable ending.

This is set in Wiltshire in the UK, when a young women turns up at Tony and Laura’s house, saying it was her home. They take her in out of kindness and find that she has amnesia.

Laura arranges for Jemma, as Tony has named her, to see a local doctor to try to help.

This is when it gets weird, does Tony know who she is? Is she the missing Jemma Huish, the girl who had killed her friend? Why is he helping her so much?

Tony is acting oddly too, he has an obsession with seahorses and the hippocampus, due to his father suffering from Alzheimer’s from a young age and he worries he may have the disease too. He has a hidden past, but how is his linked tom’Jemma’?

This is a really original tale and one that keeps you turning the page to find out more and more and more. There’s some fantastic twists that keep you guessing and that bring the story to a satisfying end.

I would like to thank the Author/the Publishers/NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review

This book caught my attention with the interesting premise of a woman turning up at a house she seems to think is hers but can’t reme her own name. The plot thickens and you think you know what the story is going to do when there is suddenly a twist and a turn and you are thrown completely off course into another story. Beautifully done!
I really enjoyed this book. If you like a bit of tension and mystery, this is the book for you.

The woman knocked at Laura & Tony's door. She said that it was her house. She could describe the layout of the house. What she couldn't do was tell them her name. Being a caring person Laura tried to put her at her ease. Tony decided she looked like a Jemma- with a J. She seemed to be frightened of the idea of a hospital when they go to the local GP so Laura invites her to stay the night whilst the doctor ties to find some psychological help.

A text from the GP raises suspicion that this could be the woman who years ago live in their house & killed her best friend because,' the voices told me too'. This frightens Laura but Tony is fascinated by 'Jemma' & her memory loss. His father dies of very early onset dementia & he is obsessed with memory.

The GP isn't the only one who has old memories stirred up by her arrival. Luke, the semi retired journalist wonders- could she really be his daughter?

This story is told from various points of view. Just when you think things are being revealed, things take off in a completely different direction. It started as an interesting idea & turned into a real page turner. As with a lot of stories, it was necessary to suspend belief on many occasions, but the story was so good I was happy to do so. All in all a great read.

Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book- I couldn't put it down!

This book is like a ravishing snake that's slowly and almost hypnotically twists and untwists herself in a thousand unpredictable ways.

You think you have some idea about the plot. You don't. The snake moves around and you realize there's a whole new side to it.

The locations change. New characters are introduced. A new layer of the given characters is revealed.

Reading this was forever surprising and at times also devastating. It's not a light topic in the end. FORGET MY NAME will not let you forget anyone's story even after putting the book down.

Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this in exchange for my honest review.
