This is one of the best books that I have read and understood the pictures. The pictures were very high quality and easy to look at and understand. I really must say how much I liked the pictures. They were so great. I do highly recommend this book!

A beautiful and resourceful book for beginners. It teaches you from picking the right crochet hooks for the right type of yarn, to the basic stitches. Radu to follow.

I managed to download this book to kindle after many tries. Unfortunately, even though the content is no doubt helpful, it would be advisable to buy the book. In a day where there are so many good lessons on Youtube I would imagine the author would have to do more than what she has done to earn 5 stars

Great for beginners. Tried to get back into arts and crafts to help with anxiety and it worked like a charm. Great book.

This is a great resource for the beginning crocheter. I learned a lot from the helpful instructions and photos. I would recommend using this in conjunction with some hands on lessons with someone experienced for best results. It was hard to translate some of the information into practice but with some outside guidance you can really make process.

In the past I have tried so hard to learn how to crochet, I was given a blanket many years ago and so wanted to learn to make one myself. If this book can't teach me nothing will!
I loved the easy style of it and the patterns look straight forward, can't wait to get started.
Thank you netgalley.

Whether you are a beginner or have been crocheting for years this book is clear and concise. I love the pictures and the pattern details. I will be using this book for a long time to come to complete my blankets, sweaters and to learn new patterns I've never used.

From picking yarn and fibers to finding the right crochet hook for you, this book has all the basics a person needs to get started and be successful with crocheting. My favorite project was what the author called the Roll Brim Cloche and it’s a hat with some flowers on it. And I loved what she called a Flower Power Retro Beanie. It was so nice that she included “wet blocking” instructions for the Windflower Shawlette. There are many other parts of this book as well that makes this a great book to check out for your craft library.
I received a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Unable to give feedback on this book as it wouldn't download with an operational link. I've tried on my tablet and my computer. Sorry.

This book is a wonderful crochet resource - I wish I had it when I was first learning to crochet! I love the author's clear instructions and helpful photos and even online video tutorials! The projects in the book are cute and perfect for beginners, and they progress in difficulty as the book progresses. I love that there is a section on reading crochet charts, and I will be using this as a reference whenever I need a refresher!

This is well written with easy to follow instructions and I would highly recommend to anyone interested in learning how to crochet.

Crochet for Everyone!
When I was learning crochet, I hunted for the perfect book to teach me with clear pictures and tips and hints, and projects. I ended up with a pile of partially perfect books. But if Crochet 101 had been in print, I would have had everything I need in one package!

Crochet 101 by Deborah Burger is an amazing book that anyone can use. Beginners with learn all about the tools and hooks and different kinds of yarn. Then, after learning the basic stitches, this book takes you directly to exciting and doable projects.

As you progress through the book, and get familiar with crochet, you will find sections to help you understand how much yarn and which hooks you will need at the start of each project. There is even a section at the start of each project that tells you what you will learn!

This is the time of year to get crafty and this book can help you create some wonderful crochet pieces for your family this Christmas!

It's just me, and I can't seem to learn to crochet from a book. I think I have to have one on one instruction. I am sure there are people who can learn from a book, and this would be a good tool for those that learn through written instructions.

Easy to follow book, with a lot of step by step photos. Overall, a useful book, but a lot of history and facts that have to be waded through. Skimmed the first part, and got to the steps. Interesting, but not a lot of patterns that leaped out at me. Sadly, reminded me of ones my older sister did in the early 70s. Still though, a good how to for a beginner's library. Would recommend.

This is the perfect help book for those wanting to learn how to crochet. Written in an easy to follow style and supported with very clear images this step by step guide will soon have the first timer on their way to making their own special items.
I am a little into the past so naturally my favourite section was reading about crochet traditions. I also felt the patterns and tips would be handy even for the more experienced person.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a free digital copy of the book in return for an honest review.

I can’t even tell you how many attempts I’ve made at trying to learn how to crochet. For some reason I just can’t pick it up the way I picked up knitting. Why am I lamenting my lack of crocheting skills? Mostly to help you realize how helpful Crochet 101 was for me. I tried following the instructions provided and I actually had some success! I’m by no means a master now, but I made so much more progress than I expected to. I think that I’ll have to go over the basics once again (or you know, a few dozen times) but then I’ll b able to move on to more complicated designs. Hopefully I’ll luck out and by the Deborah Burger will have published a few books of crochet patterns for me to follow.
I love how all the instructions were set out in a step by step manner. Not only did it make it easier to follow this way, but say you screwed up and had to go back a few steps…well it’d be easy to find the last time you did things correctly (I swear this didn’t happen to me).
Did I mention that there are online tutorials to help supplement the book? Words can’t even begin to describe how excited that made me. That’s a perfect touch, and will prove to be incredibly useful, both for the basics and the more complex steps.
