I'd like to be able to say that I was able to quit smoking--and stay quit--after reading this book, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I was definitely in the "thinking about it" phase, but was nowhere near the "I'm serious about doing this" milestone.

So why am I giving this book 4 stars, if it wasn't able to help me quit smoking despite my reluctance to do so?

Because it could have... if I'd only allowed it to happen. I was already losing my desire to smoke, but I persisted in lighting up anyway because I wantto give it up, even though I was feeling more and more inclined to do so.

(And yes, I'm aware that this sounds nonsensical, but one can be equally determined to do something that isn't sensible, as easily as one can be determined to do something that is sensible. Not an excuse, just a statement of fact.)

Despite my (willful) failure, I've hung onto this book. I'll be rereading it when I'm truly ready to quit... and I'm certain it will enable me to do so successfully.

I received an advance reading copy of this book courtesy of Arcturus Digital via Netgalley.
