Loved it! A funny adult look at a certain US president. A definite parody and probably full of fake news apparently ;-) This is a funny book showing some of the gaffs and foilbols of the current president as well as some of his more extreme views.

This book is a wonderful account of a day in the life of The Donald - complete with an imaginary trip through “the best wall”, past s#$@hole counties. Donald encounter the fake media,, Vladimir Putin, and many other Trump era phenomenons. I loved how the writer and artist captured the childlike speech patterns of his antihero, and how he mildly yet effectively skewered him. Highly recommended for Americans looking for a way to make it through some of these seemingly endless days of the Trump administration.

A satire about the child that is the president. Would be even funnier if it weren't so accurate and thus depressing.

A fun book that made me snigger. It takes the mickey just enough but not too far. It will make a bigly stocking filler at Christmas.

This is precisely what you think it is. And it is MAGICAL. Little Donnie draws many impressive items with that golden crayon. Even if the person who invented crayons is a loser.

I feel like I've read a large amount of DT satire books recently, and you know, I'm thinking I need way more in the coming months. Let's keep these coming, shall we?

This book was equal parts hilarious and disturbing. That most of the things touched on are true is disheartening. I thought it was a very good parody of a beloved children's classic and the flow of the original fit really well into this story. I think a lot of people will enjoy this book!

DONALD AND THE GOLDEN CRAYON is a parody of the award winning book HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON, with a reminder of all the things our current president is doing wrong.

The book is entertaining, in that it pokes fun at the horrific state of things, and gives a little comic relief to the crappy situation. At the same time, it really didn't do much for me. I'm just getting to a point where every "joke" isn't lessening the blow as much as weakening the fight power, and that feels very dangerous in this global climate. It's probably just me feeling like that, though.

Donald & the Golden Crayon by P Shauers is an adult parody of the popular children's book Harold and the Purple Crayon. Through it we follow the *cough* illustrious US president as he muddles his childish way through various 'adventures’. From a walled off golf course to a multiroom mansion, Donald uses his magical golden crayon to create whatever he wants. When he tries to make a TV that tells him only what he wants to hear, the Golden Crayon meets it's match. In a tantrum, Donald breaks his magic crayon, then proceeds to tweet about how pathetic crayons are for breaking.

The whole story is a perfect illustration of just how pathetic and childish this man really is. For the majority, these are things he has actually said and done, complete with authentic speech. I was cracking up as I read this. Ya have to, ya know? Or else you'd be crying. It's all so absurd, yet it's true. Blech. Hahahaha. I don't know if the author's name is a play on the 'golden shower’ tape, but if it is, that's priceless. If not, great coincidence! I also loved the Citizen Kane reference.

'Donald and the Golden Crayon' is a rather humorous adult parody picture book written in the style of children's classic 'Harold and the Purple Crayon' by Crockett Johnson. Make no mistake, this is not a book for kids, it features bad language, bad behaviour and the general buffoonery of the fourty-fifth president of the United States. It is written in Trump's inimitable style and covers many of the major controversies the president has being surrounded by since taking office.

I have always loved a little political satire but usually stick to those that criticise British politicians. Here though, we are drawn in by the wonderful illustrations that complement the narrative very well. The Twitter "covfefe" incident is referenced, as is his love of golf, the "shithole" countries incident and the building of a wall. There are some not-so-subtle messages to some of the illustrations - one shows a map on the wall of a war room with South America and Africa labelled as "shitholes" and Russia and North America labelled as "Great" with Russian also gaining an extra tag - "BFF". He also makes a cosy place to sleep for the night with his room being adorned with the words "Stable Genius" and the reference to a golden shower had me laughing out loud. Finally, it wouldn't be Donald without the accusations of fake news and a biased media so that features in the book, too.

A great little book for a lighthearted read, but it does pick up on some extremely serious issues and makes light of them. A little humour always helps, but I am under no illusion that the president is a dangerous person with some dangerous views on race, culture and women, to name but a few. Worth a read for sure!

This made me laugh bigly. An excellent parody of the Donald's time in office so far in the style of a children's storybook. Great illustrations too

A sadly amusing little book showing Trump as the spoiled child he is, using his own words and actions. Since this is probably at his reading level, maybe he'll pick up a copy thinking it's a glowing biography and instead be met with honest ridicule!

A funny, entertaining, and unusual polical satire book. I really appreciated it and gave a lot of food for thought.

We will look back on all this and laugh some day, I hope. In the meantime, here is Herald grown up to be Donald, and his purple crayon has turned to gold, and he has new things he wants to draw before he goes to sleep.

The problem with parodies is they have to be very clever to be super funny, and this one tries, but what it is making fun are the very sad things that Donald is doing in real life, not just with his crayon, so it is hard to actually laugh.

So good effort. Not laugh-out-loud funny, but good for a bit of humor.

The pictures are certainly done in the Herald and the Purple Crayon style.

I'm not quite sure how to review a book like this. It's funny. It covers all of the ridiculousness of the Trump administration. It's publication is likely to send the president into a fiery rage, which will be tremendous to watch. It's silly and pokes fun at all the most memorable one liners and signature moments that embody this president's reign of terror and absurdity. I got a kick out of it.
