Writing is top notch and story is easy to follow even though it is told from two characters' points of view and across two timelines. The premise of this book--a young teen hides in a closet the day her parents are brutally murdered, and years later on her wedding day, she disappears from her own wedding reception--was one I just couldn't pass up. And Wilkinson delivers! Great read!

Loved this book, couldn't put it down! Read it in a day as I was so riveted. I loved the way it switched between Seth in the present day and Charley in the past, slowly revealing parts of her childhood and building a better picture of her. I was pretty shocked by the big reveal, didn't expect that! I've come to expect great things from Kerry Wilkinson off the back of her previous books and this doesn't disappoint either. Highly recommended!

Kerry Wilkinson is an author that never disappoints me! I tend to scoop up his books as soon as they are available request and read. Often times, I don't even read the synopsis because I know I'll like whatever he writes. After Seth and Charlie get married, Charlie goes missing from their reception. Seth knows of Charlie's past: her parents were killed in a horrific murder and Charlie was the only survivor. The murderer was never caught. But Seth doesn't know everything about Charlie. He sets out to find Charlie because he knows she would never leave him. Told through flashbacks to Charlie's childhood and Seth's quest to find her, we start seeing what really happened on both nights. I enjoyed this mystery even though I did figure out one aspect to the story but I didn't know all of it. Another winner from one of my favorite authors!

An original story line with several twists that will keep you guessing. Sounds like a Kerry Wilkinson book!
Suffering from childhood traumas that would crush a lesser person, Charley has managed to live a normal life that includes finding a great man and marrying him. BUT, at the wedding Charley disappears. That alone would give you an excellent thriller but there is so much more going on that you'll race to get to the end. Charley deserves happiness, does she get it? Read the book.

Kerry Wilkinson has done it again!! This author never fails to write works of brilliance.

Seth Chambers is marrying Charley Willis and it should be the happiest day of their lives. It is - until Charley goes missing! Nobody seen her leave or knows why she has gone. The book details the Life Charley has led since being a young girl and is an intriguing read.

Another 5* read.

This is psychological thriller that is told from two timelines and different points of view. The story was very easy to follow as it switches back and forth between the past and present. This was a great mystery filled with tension and intrigue. Charley had quite a past that Seth didn't know about and it was fun discovering what actually happened. I liked both Seth and Charley and kind of felt bad for both of them. This was well written and the plot kept my attention right til the end. I've not read any of his books before, but will definitely read some more. Loved it.

As a fan of Kerry’s Jessica Daniels series I was excited to read this stand alone novel. As expected, he did not disappoint! The Wife’s Secret is the story of Seth and Charley. On the evening of their wedding, during the reception, Seth cannot find his new bride. Searching everywhere he eventually has to contact the police and report he missing. The only person who claims to have seen her anywhere around the time she disappeared is Seth’s mother, but she suffers from Alzheimer’s and can’t be relied upon.

As hours turn into days we learn of Charley’s difficult past. She is the daughter of a famous couple who were murdered when she was just thirteen years old. She had been hidden in her bedroom cupboard throughout the horrific ordeal. Many people talk of there being a curse against their family as more tragic events happen. Seth doesn’t know what to think. Has his new wife had cold feet and left him, or is she the next victim of the Willis family curse?

This is a great read that captures you and pulls you in from the get go. Kerry’s writing style is easy and effortless to read whilst keeping you engaged throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and definitely recommend.

My thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for a copy of #TheWifesSecret in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, wow, wow. A gripping read from start to finish. It had me gasping in places. The perfect parents are not what they appear to be and a family's secret cannot stay buried.
Praise for #KerryWilkinson #thewofessecret

A celebrity couple was brutally sloughed in their house, their thirteen year old daughter Charley survived by hiding in a her room. She didn't see what happened downstairs and couldn't describe the murderer. In spite of top priority the murder case has never been solved and the murderer never has never been caught.

Fifteen years later Charley, a media-shy person, who lives a quiet normal life disappears from her wedding. Is her disappearing connected with the killing of her parents? Has she been kidnapped or are there other reason for her disappearance? Does a family curse that the media keeps yelling about really exist?

The story goes on between the past and the present, between Seth's POV (a newly-made husband) and different characters, revealing bit by bit more information to the tragic events in the past and more details to Charley's character, inciting speculations and guesswork.

A well done psychological thriller that kept me guessing and wondering about the events and motivations. Probably not a book you'll remember for a long time, but an entertaining and enjoyable read for NOW.

I loved this book right from the start. It was very well paced and i didn’t quite guess “who done it” but enjoyed getting nearly there. I look forward to more from Kerry Wilkinson and this really should become one of the talked about books.

Kerry Wilkinson does it again in The Wife's Secret. Many years ago, Charley Willis' parents were killed by a stranger who broke into their home. Present day, she is marrying Seth Chambers but disappears on the evening of her wedding. She is gone without a trace. Seth seeks out the truth only to find that his new bride has a huge secret. One that haunts her every day. Everyone thinks there is a Willis curse since her older sister was found dead years after their parents' death in the family home. Speculators think that Charley may be dead as well since there are clues along the way that suggest it. This was a fantastically written book and Wilkinson feeds the reader just a little bit at a time until he gets to the twist at the end.

Thank you to Netgalley, Kerry Wilkinson, and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley, the Publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in return for my review based on my honest opinion.

I haven't read a book by Kerry Wilkinson that I haven't liked and this book is no exception. I like her characters and the way she writes them, their flaws, their history, it makes every book a great read.

Seth and Charley get married, and he is feeling pretty lucky until he realizes that his new bride has gone missing from the reception; no one has seen her, except his alzheimer's riddled mother, who due to her disease he is leery to completely believe. As friends, family and the police start the search, the press show up and the question being asked is, could it be the Willis curse; Charley, as it turns out has have a horrific past, when she was thirteen her parents, famous television personalities, Annie and Paul Willis, were brutally murdered while she hid in the linen closet. Seth knows very little of this time in Charley's life as she never speaks of it and he has never really asked, how do you bring such a thing up in conversation. But back in present day, does that have anything to do with where Charley is now; did she just walk away, was she taken, is she still alive, Seth will do anything to find her, she is the love of his life, but as he starts to uncover the story; he starts to wonder if he really knows his wife at all?

This story is told by Seth's point of view in the present and Charley's voice in the past; both very compelling and this story hurtles along and you get caught up in the story, which is brilliant, just as you think you have it figured out, it twists again. It was a great read and definitely not my last Kerry Wilkinson book.
