This was a brilliant read. As soon as I started reading this book I just knew I was going to love it. Highly recommended

I have read all of the Lavender Road series and was looking forward to reading this book, but with a slightly apprehensive feeling as over the years you get a feeling for the characters and what is going to happen next in their lives while everything was in turmoil during WWII. Also, sadness as at having to say 'goodbye' to characters you feel you have known for years.

I enjoyed this book very much on how the characters had developed over the series and the historical detail that the author had put into the story, but without it being heavy and it flowed very well.

I recommend this book, but advise reading the previous books in the series.

Victory Girls is the 6th book in a series about Lavender Road. Unfortunately I came to this series late, as this is the first book I read. Having said that it’s a brilliant story and can easily be read as a stand-alone. I fell in love with all the characters so I shall be going back to where it all began and reading books 1-5 to find out in more detail how the characters got to where they were in this book. I highly recommend this book, and you will love the whole series is the other books are as good as this one. Which I’m sure they will be.

I always enjoy wartime stories and although I hadn't read anything else from the Lavendar Road series, I was captivated by this one straight away. Brilliant characters and a very well written story. Definitely will be looking to go back and read more from the series, as well as eagerly awaiting the next installment.
