I found this book extremely interesting as it advocates the use of hobbies to find some calmness and balance in life today. As an avid crafter, I certainly agree with all the personal experiences in the book, as I find the whatever craft I do, takes me away from stresses, makes me feel good about myself and allows me to be myself. The book introduces various crafters/artists who tell their journey in a ordinary way. The last chapter in the book has some simple project to try, maybe to capture the imagination and continue with the craft. There is also an element of this being a personal journey and there isn't any focus on achieving masterpieces.
Living in this crazy world, this book is ideal to slow your life down.

As an holistic therapist I found this book very interesting. The book is divided into parts, with chapters covering things like history and different types of crafts. I did feel that this book would have been more interesting if there had been some pictures throughout parts 1 and 2 and maybe some photographs in part 3 (the projects). Of course, in a book only so many types of craft can be discussed, but it has inspired me to look for other crafts.

This book has got to be one of the worst anyone can lay their hands on - whether one wants to heal or have peace through a crafty hobby or not. It is nonsensical, dull, and has zero unique ideas on craft projects or anything else for that matter.

This book looks into the process of making things with your hands and the positive impact that has on mental health and wellbeing. As someone already interested in craft I found some of the projects included a bit too simple.

Craftfullness by Rosemary Davidson and Arzu Tahsin explains the importance of techniques to keep people happy and confident.
As a crafter I get a lot of joy and a sense of achievement in the things that a make and I forget about my problems for a while as I am busy with my project.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Quercus Books for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
