This is a lovely story about Rosie (in a coma) and her younger sister Daisy. Interestingly it is told from both their viewpoints, which makes for a fabulous way to find out how we got here.

Meeting a variety of quirky characters from both the past and the present keeps the reader engaged, eager to find out what part each has had to play in the lives of the sisters.

I loved revisiting the past with Rosie, particularly being reminded of fashion, music, trends and even sweets (got to love Toffos!)

Whilst the ending of the book could be said to be predictable, the message the book carries makes you stop and reflect for a while. How many lives have you touched and how will you be remembered? An enjoyable, light read.

What a lovely story to read, I like family saga's and I also enjoy books that have a little bit of the supernatural! I found it a really quick read and I wanted to know what happened.

Thanks for the advance copy.

Having recently read Eva Woods's novel, How to be Happy, I was really looking forward to reading The Lives We Touch. Unfortunately for me it wasn't as good. The main device, that the character in a coma could 'see' the people in the room with her, wasn't plausible and this jarred with me every time it was used. I could sympathise with the main character, especially towards the end, but didn't like her enough to become completely emotionally invested in her.

An enjoyable, engaging read, that will certainly pluck at your heart-strings! (if you are anything like me you'll need to have so tissues at the ready).

It wasn't quite as good at 'How To Be Happy' but still certainly worth a read!

A huge thanks to Little Brown Book Group & NetGalley for gifting me a copy in return for an open & honest review.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

A fantastic read! The perfect read for lying by the pool in the sunshine.

Rosie is in a coma after being hit by a bus. Was it an accident or did she step in front of it deliberately. Daisy, her sister, is desperate to piece together Rosie’s life to determine what may have driven her to do such a thing.

Meanwhile Rosie (still in a coma) is forced to relive memories, some good and some bad, in a bid to determine what it all means. However, she only has three days in which to do it and hopefully come out of the coma.

I honestly loved this book - it was a fantastic concept and worked really well.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This is a brilliant emotional family saga. It has a fantastic and unusual plot. There are a few characters and each one fits perfectly into the storyline.

very enjoyable book. it was a case of did Rosie jump or was it an accident the whole way through also whether she would wake up from her coma.

What a lovely book - had me in tears ! Its a lovely easy read and perfect for a holiday. I really enjoyed How To Be Happy and was thrilled to see she had written another book. The story starts as Rosie is taken to hospital after being hit by a bus - she is then in a coma.... it was a page turner and had me hooked wanting to find out what happened to Rosie as she got her memories back.

This was a nice easy read. It is an interesting concept to see the effect we have had on people through our lives. Sad for Rosie to see bad times when she "went under" but a good way of building up an image of her life to date. Sad to see how the family had been torn apart, not just by Rosie's behaviour at Daisy's engagement party, but to the constantly alluded to family tragedy involving baby brother Petey way in the past. We can only pray Rosie recovers but we can see the effect her accident has on bringing the family back together. I was dying to know if she had intended to step in front of the bus, and it was interesting that Rosie was making the same journey as the reader. An enjoyably emotional easy read. #netgalley #theliveswetouch

Beautifully written & moving book I loved it. This is the first book I’ve read by the author @ certainly won’t be the last. I would recommend this to anyone. Wow.

A profoundly moving novel about the fragility and complexity of life, the choices we make, the mistakes we can't forgive ourselves for and the invisible strings that bind us all together. The powerful bonds of love that unite and fracture a family are explored in breathtaking snapshots of Rosie's relatively short life, and as her family gather around her hospital bedside her sister Daisy frantically tries to piece together what has lead them all to this.
Life affirming, heartwrenching and raw, The Lives We Touch left me a little but broken and a little bit healed all at the same time.

Wow... I absolutely loved this book. It was one of those books that I just wanted to read another chapter to see what happened.

The main character is Rosie who has been rushed into hospital after stepping in front of a bus in London and is currently in a coma. The question is did she do it on purpose or was it an accident, and as the story slowly unfolds we finally find out the answer towards the end of the book.

I loved how the story was set out, alternating between Rosie's memories of her life so far and the people in it, and the present day with her family. Her sister Daisy in particular took on the role of trying to find out more about her sister's life and the people in it, as Rosie was quite difficult and the family had fallen out with her recently because of her actions. Rosie was guided in her memories by people from her past who had passed on and were helping her navigate this out of body experience, but she could also hear everyone in the present day around her hospital bed.

I don't want to say too much about the story and ruin it, but it was so emotional and really makes you think about your life and the peoples lives you may have touched, without sometimes even realising it. It's really about that fork in the road, taking one path instead of another and what ifs. Rosie's situation really shook up her quite disjointed family and made everyone reevaluate their lives for the better.

Absolutely amazing, emotional, thought-provoking book - it's gone straight onto my favourite books list. Do have some tissues ready too!

An emotional read.
The story of Rosie, starting with her being in hospital, after being hit by a bus. The question everyone is asking is if she stepped out in front of the bus on purpose.
Told through a series of memories as she looks back on her past, you find out more about her and her family - what has happened to them and shaped how they are today.

This is a tale about Rosie, who is in a coma after being knocked down by a bus. The question is did she step out on purpose or was she just not paying attention. Whilst she is in a coma, dead friends and relatives take her on a journey to revisit past events and the people she touched. (I am not a fan of this type of genre but Eva does it brilliant and I did begin to believe a little).

Daisy, Rosie sister has always been the good, reliable daughter, but as she tries to piece together what happened in Rosie’s life over the last year or so, she realises not everything is as she thought and starts to look at how her own life is playing out.

This book is full of wonderful characters with lots of little twists and I love how Eva pulls everything and everyone together.

A lovely read. I thought the plot line was great (even a quote from A Christmas Carol’ snuck in and I really liked all the main characters. I enjoyed seeing a number of characters develop a greater understanding (instead of just one). I thought it was well written and humorous at times. A pleasant surprise. The only thing I doubted was the sermon on the titular theme but, a minor point.

Daisy's sister is in a coma. Daisy fell out with her sister Rosie months before this happened. Daisy is trying to work out what was going on with her sister and if her accident was just an accident or more?

You will also be able to read the story from Rosie's point of view during the coma and at various flash backs in the style of 'a Christmas carol' where Rosie gets to revisit life changing moments.

I really liked this story and despite the hard topic of the main character being in a coma, I found it to be quite uplifting and insightful on the observations of how we are in this life. Remember that we only live our life once.

I loved this book. I didn't want it to end. I wanted to know what happened to Rosie and Luke. I laughed and cried my way through this story. I wanted a happy ending for everyone. I really liked the way the story was told. The thought of Rosie's actions affecting other people was really well written. Rosie's life was so sad in places and at times through the book I didn't like some of her past behaviour. I would definitely recommend this book and I will be looking out for more books by Eva Woods.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

Great story that I really enjoyed. The characters were enjoyable and the author writes in a way that the reader really cares what happens to them. It makes you think how interconnected lives are and it was nice to read such an uplifting book. It made me laugh and cry and couldn't put it down.
