This was a very light, fun, easy read. I enjoyed it very much. I’ll admit that Georgie annoyed me many times and I wondered how anyone could be so dumb but overall I found the book extremely hilariously and enjoyable An absolutely beautiful book that gave me Sophie Kinsella vibes and the devil wears prada vibes too, totally fab. And Georgia was just a total sweetheart of a character that I totally took to instantly.

The list that changed my life was a heartwarming, charming and sometimes funny read, that I couldn't get enough of! Olivia Beirne has wrote such a wonderfully uplifting story that pulls at the heartstrings one minute then makes you tear up with laughter the next.

Really a book that has it all a fantastic group of characters that you can't help but love, a heartwarming storyline with moments of laugh out loud humour. I actually haven't enjoying a contemporary book as much in forever and it's a fantastic feeling to have found a new author who I can really rave about. Can't wait for more from Olivia Beirne

I started off enjoying this book - I love books that involve relationships especially the sibling kind - the main character starts off great but then becomes a bit unsure - I just couldn't get in to the story unfortunately - So sorry

This was a lovely book! It was a really easy style of writing to read and a happy yet sad story. This book made me both smile and cry, and I wanted the best to happen for Georgia and Amy throughout as they were such likeable characters.

Please note that this book is not for me - I have read the book, However I had to DNF and because i do not like to give negative reviews I will not review this book fully - there is no specific reason for not liking this book. I found it a struggle to read and did not enjoy trying to force myself to read this book.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for the opportunity to read this book

I liked the storyline. I love the idea of a bucket list. The relationship between the sisters was heart--warming.

However, I didn't like either of the sisters. Amy flits between "oh woe is me" and "no f*ck you I'm not sick" far too much for my liking.

I am the same age as Georgia but I would go as far as to say this is not like anyone my age I know. Her treatment of Jack was laughable at best, and some of her moments really did make me roll my eyes and wonder.

A smashing story - I laughed until I cried and then I cried some more.

Georgia loves her own company and reality tv - she doesn’t like to take risks and likes to be within her comfort zone. She definitely does not like heights, exercise or being an adult. However, when her sister Amy realises that circumstances mean she won’t be able to carry out her ‘bucket list’ of things to do before she is 30 she bestows the task on Georgia and prepares a list which will stretch Georgia to the very limits. With the deadline set for her birthday which is mere months away, Georgia doesn’t have a great deal of time to mark off the things on the list.

This book is romantic, hilarious and at times sad. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I started to read this late Christmas Eve and was hooked. This is a heart-warming, uplifting book which I needed to read and was the perfect antidote for the overindulgence of festive reading.

Georgia is an every day 26 year old facing the daily battles with her job, rent and dating until she steps out of her comfort zone to complete her sister’s list. I could relate to her in every way so when faced with the challenges I cringed, laughed and cheered with her. Her observations and inner dialogue are accurate and funny. Though she sees Amy as the more confident, pretty and mature sister their closeness shines through. This is a story about the bond between sisters which gets stretched in difficult times.

I was intrigued to see how M.S would be conveyed but Olivia Beirne tackled Amy’s diagnosis sensitively and it was nice to see how illness affects not only the person with it but those around them. The List That Changed My Life shows the devastation of the disease and how everyone has to adapt but it is full of fun, laughs and warmth so I came away from the book feeling positive and upbeat. It also inspired me to be more involved with charities who work tirelessly to support those in need.

Olivia Beirne has written a wonderful strong debut full of emotion and humour. Now is the perfect time to read it as we hurtle to the end of this year and make our own lists for the upcoming one. I can’t wait to read more of her work.

This must be without a doubt the funniest book I’ve read this year, if not ever!

As a big fan of ‘lists’, I was really looking forward to reading this book. That satisfaction of ticking the completed tasks off, seeing you have achieved what you set yourself to do. Well this list is some sort of bucket list to get out of comfort zone and start living!

I don’t think I’ve ever met such a funny character as Georgia. Her inner conversations with herself were written so brilliantly, I was crying with laughter.
Georgia tackling this list so bravely on the outside, while really struggling and fighting it with every bit of her on the inside. She is fantastic character and probably one of my favourite ones ever!

I only just finished this book this morning and now feel this incredible emptiness. What do I do without this book? Where do I find something even remotely as funny as this? Hand on heart, I will really miss these characters a lot.

There was so much to love about this book. Firstly, as my mother suffered with MS and died recently, the subject was very close to my heart. But also, I am a huge fan of lists and books about lists. Bloomin' love them. So it had me from the very start, and I'm glad to say, never disappointed. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me feel so uplifted and happy. It was a wonderful read with brilliant characters, excellent dialogue and a perfect balance of romance, realism, friendship, family and growing up. I'll definitely be on the look out for more by this author in the future.

As a chronically ill x8 person, I emotionally welcome stories with chronic illnesses as the focus of the book. This is one of THOSE books and, despite MS not being one of my own illnesses, I still want to thank the author for putting a topic at the heart of her book to spread overall awareness of both the illness, and the way in which chronic illnesses can affect people.

Now, the idea surrounding a ‘bucket list’ in a book is one that has been doing the rounds in several books I’ve read this year. However, the concept has never been delivered in the way that it was in this book – yay to uniqueness!!!

For a lot of people, turning thirty is a big deal as it’s the age where people expect you to have done many things by. I know – why do we adapt our lives based on other people’s ideas as to how we should live? Why do we feel the need to compete with the Joneses so to speak? Answer – we are human. Georgia doesn’t feel as though she matches up to her big sister, Amy, yet Amy feels as though she isn’t as good as her little sister, especially after her recent diagnosis. Georgia can’t help but focus on all of the things she wishes she had, whereas Amy is grieving for the things that she can no longer do or is limited by. That said, both sisters are unaware that they are battling against their own sub-consciences whilst also unintentionally directing it at the other. Following?

I found the concept of this novel rather emotional because of my own personal battles with chronic illnesses. I thought that Olivia Beirne nailed the thought process to a T, highlighting the fact that grieving things you can no longer do, is actually a thing.

Whilst the topic of MS is very strong, there is a lot of humour and witty one liners that seemed to balance the rest of the book. Georgia had me in hysterics multiple times, and it was her personality and Amy’s strength which shone the brightest throughout the book.

Olivia Beirne is a very gifted writer! I have a feeling that this book was written from the heart because there were some things included in the story which I don’t think even Google would have been able to muster!

All in all, ‘The List Which Changed My Life’ gave me food for thought in more ways than one. I really did enjoy following Amy’s journey and I am delighted that chronically ill people are finally getting their time in the spotlight in a positive and realistic manner. I am so looking forward to reading more from this author!

The List That Changed My Life is a wonderful, warm and funny book that made me laugh out loud at times.

Although someone having a bucket list they wish to complete isn’t a new one, the author manages to breathe new life into in the form of reluctant participant Georgia who was my favourite character in the book. I think this was because she reminded me a little of myself as I’m also not much of a dare devil and I much prefer sitting on the sofa reading a book too. She is an immensely likeable character that you can’t help but warm too especially as she seems so real with all her little quirks.

There is quite a thought provoking theme running through the book about how people treat those that are sick. I think our reaction is normally very like that of the characters in that we try and protect them but never consider how it makes them feel. I found it interesting to see things from Amy’s point of view and to learn about the difference in how people treat her after her diagnosis.

The descriptions of Georgia trying to complete the things on Amy’s list was hilarious and I found myself laughing aloud frequently throughout the book. Not everything came easy to her and she was often pushed far out of her comfort zone but she was persevered and saw it through which was great to read about. She’s definitely inspired me to try some new things too.

This is the author’s debut novel and I’m very excited to read more from her. If you like heartwarming, funny books that makes you think then you’ll love this book.

Huge thanks to Anne Cater for inviting me onto the blog tour and to Headline for my copy of this book via Netgalley.

"The List that Changed My Life", the debut novel by Olivia Beirne, follows Georgia Miller, a twenty - six year old woman from London, working as an assistant to a designer. Even though Georgie is a great designer herself, she now acts as a runner/organizer/general dogsbody for her boss's wedding and wouldn't dare to show her her designs. Georgie's sister Amy is a fit and cheerful PE teacher, and they both share a very strong bond. It's no wonder then that when Amy is diagnosed with MS, Georgie's world collapses as well. Amy challenges Georgie with a bucket list, full of things that she won't be able to do herself - they're mostly very out of Gerogie's comfort zone, so will she be able to do it for her sister? And how much is her life going to change if she did?

I love books about lists, probably because they never work for me in my life. And here it was a list that was a little bit different, because it was written for somebody, not by our main character herself. It was for her, from her sister. And well, there were things that really weren't the easiest ones to do, to complete. No wonder that Georgia was a little sceptical, and it was a real joy to read how she worked her way through all the items on the list. I liked the way the idea of the list was executed, it was this little bit different to all the other lists that I've read about and it didn't feel too meh or too utilised.

Georgia herself was such a lovely and compelling character. Yes, sure, sometimes I've got the vibe that she's letting other people take her life over, that Jack's involvement into her list was a bit too much, but other than that she was a lovely, friendly young woman that loved her sister so much. She's been constantly pushed out of her comfort zones and we know ourselves how uncomfortable it can be, but she learnt how to value her life and how to stand for herself during the time. And, let's be honest, mostly we're really glad that we've done this step, no? I really liked the relationship between Georgie and her sister Amy, though there were moments that I had a feeling that Amy was a little bit too possessive, as if she wanted her sister only to herself, as if Georgie wasn't allowed to have her own life. It was especially apparent after Amy's accident on the steps, and as much as I could understand Georgie, that she wanted to be as quickly as possible with her sister, I couldn't help but felt a little disappointed at the way Amy reacted - as if it was Georgie's duty to be around her all the time. Georgie was always there for her sister, for better or worse, and I think she deserved a little life of her own as well. But those two had a great bond, that's for sure.

"The List that Changed My Life" was light, funny and poignant, heart - warming debut novel about love, sisterhood and about how much you are able to sacrifice for those you love, how far you'd go for them. It was emotional, and it was incredibly humorous, there was a lightness to it even though it touched upon such a serious issue as being diagnosed with MS, but it didn't make my cry. It was about stepping out of your comfort zones and taking advantages and opportunities. It was life - affirming and also thought - provoking, showing that it's not so difficult to test your limits and to simply enjoy and appreciate what the world has on offer. I'm already looking forward to next Olivia Beirne's novel, she's certainly one to watch.

This was a heartwarming delightful story full of humor and Hart!

This book kept me up Way past my bedtime... laughing so hard tears were streaming down my face, trying not to wake up my kids... this book had a definite Sophie Kinsella vibe to it and that’s a huge compliment because she is one of my faves... this was such an entertaining uplifting debut that I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to read.....

Georgia was such a fantastic character, I am definitely adding her to my book BFF list! She was so down to earth, so generous, so funny, and she had a heart of gold... her relationship with her sister Amy was remarkable, it made me wish I had a sister of my own.... all the secondary characters were fantastic, Georgia’s parents, her BFF Natalie, her boss Bianca.... Jack her love interest was supportive, sweet, and swoon worthy 😍

George’s sister Amy is diagnosed with MS... Georgia is devastated, and does not know what she can possibly do to help her sister... so, when her sister presents her with a list of things Georgia should do before she turns 30, how can she possibly turned her down? But skinny dip? Skydive? Go on a date with someone you meet on Tinder? Not to mention bake an impossible cake? This book was really about taking chances and living your life to your fullest... to push yourself out of your comfort zone and crush self doubt...

An uplifting story that will put a huge smile on your face and bunches of hope in your heart... absolutely recommend to anyone who is a fan of a well told story with wonderful characters and a delicious aMount of humor...

*** many thanks to Headline for my copy of this book ***

When I was invited to take part in this blog tour, I was promised that I would "wee myself with laughter." I usually read crime novels, so as I was looking for some relief from bloody murders and twisted serial killers, it sounded like The List That Changed My Life would be just what I was looking for. It is indeed incredibly funny, and the situations in which Georgia finds herself often made me howl with laughter. The novel is narrated by Georgia and her reflections on the events in her life, including the things that she wishes she could say in response, help to make Georgia a very relatable character. At times, it was almost as if my own family were in the room with me when Georgia's family were speaking! I could not help but root for Georgia as she crossed off the experiences on her list, most of which, I must add, were things that would make me run for the hills too!
Besides the humour, Beirne does a brilliant job of highlighting what it is like to live with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I don't have MS, but I do have cerebral palsy and other related conditions, so I could really sympathise with Amy when people treated her differently, spoke on her behalf or pushed past her in the bus queue.
At the beginning of The List That Changed My Life, Georgia is stuck in her ways and reluctant to try new things. I enjoyed reading as her character grew and learnt new things about herself and her family. There is also a hint of romance in the air, and although it is clear from fairly early on where this is going, I still felt invested in the ups and downs of Georgia's life.

I jumped at the chance to read The List That Changed My Life because it sounded like a real feel-good read – and it really is that but it’s so much more as well. I adored this book!

This book was so much more moving than I was expecting. I found the opening chapter of the book with Georgia’s sister Amy so heartbreaking. I’ve been through the battery of tests that she would have had to go through and it’s not fun. I don’t have the same illness but my condition causes very similar symptoms so I could really empathise with what she is going through. The relationship between the two sisters was gorgeous. I love how close they were, even when they were snapping at each other you could see it was out of love.

The list that changes Georgia’s life is written for her by Amy and initially it seems like Amy wants to inflict maximum panic on her sister as the list has some things on it that most people who aren’t daring would absolutely not want to do. Over the course of the novel it becomes apparent why Amy is challenging Georgia and I adored that she was doing this for her. My best friend, who sadly died when we were 20, used to push me out of my comfort zone all the time and I loved her for it. Even now, nearly twenty years on I can still hear her voice pushing me on when I have the fear and wonder whether I’m doing the right thing. The really lovely thing was that even though it was Georgia completing the list, it was helping Amy too. These two women are most definitely a team.

I really enjoyed the love interest in this book and how Georgia came to meet him. It was funny and believable and I was so hoping that things would work out for these two.

The List That Changed My Life is a beautiful read but it’s also a big reminder of how we should all push ourselves out of our comfort zones from time to time. It’s good to test our limits and to see what the big wide world can offer. This is a gorgeous life-affirming read that will make you laugh and cry, and ultimately will leave you feeling like making your own list to change your life! I loved this book and feel sure I’ll be re-reading it in the future so I definitely recommend it!
