Another great Christmas read. Perfect for curling up with on the sofa in front of the log fire.
As ever, Kirsty Ferry draws the reader in and creates beautiful images in the minds eye that you can't forget. I devoured this book in a single sitting.

Emma was delighted when she got a last minute invitation to have at stall at the Frost Fayre at Hartsford Hall and immediately felt at home there..... too much so as it felt as though she had been there before when she knew she hadn't. Then a freak blizzard blew up and she got snowed in and had to stay there and then she met Tom and instantly felt that she knew him and he felt the same...... what was going on there!

Another lovely book in this magical series with a dual timeframe showing Tom and Emma's "previous" story. Well worth reading all of the books, although it can be read as a standalone, because it is lovely to be back with all of the characters from the earlier stories

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed the other books in this series so was excited to start this one. I wasn't disappointed. It was just so wonderful to be able to go back to Hartsford Hall and visit some old favourite characters, alongside some new ones.

A lovely blend of romance with history, a fantastic storyline and warm Christmas feeling. I really love a well written time slip novel and this one is fabulous. This is best read as part of the series, but could be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. Highly recommended.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Emmy Berry was a last-minute inclusion for the Frost Fayre at Hartsford Hall – an injured man meant he couldn’t fulfil his role, which left a space open for Emmy. But her arrival at the Hall felt strange to her. She was sure she had never been there before, but so much was familiar to her. How could that be?

Elodie and Alex, owners of the Hall, were very welcoming and when a blizzard struck causing Emmy to have no way of returning home, she was invited to stay. When she saw Tom Howard, she was stunned. Surely she knew him. But how? And Tom felt the same; he also knew he’d never met Emmy before. What was happening? Was it the usual dusting of magic that the Hall seemed to produce? Or was it vivid imagination because it was almost Christmas? Magic certainly was in the air...

Set in two time frames, Watch for Me at Christmas is 4th in the Hartsford Mystery series by Kirsty Ferry and another thoroughly enjoyable romp around the Hall. Catching up with old friends at Hartsford Hall was great; finding out what the newly introduced characters were up to was fun. A great Christmas read (and my first for the season) which I highly recommend.

With thanks to NetGalley and Choc Lit publishers for my digital ARC to read in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book I’ve read in the Hartsford Mysteries series but it won’t be the last! I thoroughly enjoyed this intriguing time slip romance and found the time changes easy to follow. I’m sure if you’ve read the earlier books you would pick up on things I missed but it definitely wasn’t necessary to enjoy this delightful Christmas story. The modern day couple Tom and Ellie experience unexplainable things at Hartsford Hall and gradually discover the historical story of their counterparts from many years earlier Charles and Millie in a way that seemed perfectly logical under the unusual circumstances. A great, short romantic read with all the joy of Christmas.

What a fun, enjoyable little Christmas time novella. This is part of the Hartsford Mysteries series. There was a bit of a timeslip here as there is a connection between modern day Tom and Emmy and ninteenth century Charles and Millie. A modern day blizzard leads to to many similarities that happened in both time spans to be ignored this is why when Tom and Emmy meet they feel as though they had know each other before. Enjoyable story equatable to drinking hot cider and having your favorite muffins. I look forward to reading more mysteries by this author and reading more about these characters.

Emmy Berry has accepted a last-minute booking to set up her mulled wine booth at Hartsford Hall’s Frost Faire just before Christmas. Instantly she’s finding odd things happening, and a feeling of coming home again that just won’t go away. With a snowstorm moving in and the inches piling up, the residents of the Hall, Elodie and Alex, have encouraged her to stay on. She’s not got any real reasons to go home to an empty house- her family isn’t gathering for the holiday, and she’s only planned a quiet day in pajamas with the telly. She’s not the only one stranded unexpectedly, Tom Howard’s sister Kate runs the small ‘history museum’ for the village and estate, and he’s visiting for the holiday. He’s planning on staying in the Gardener’s cottage on the estate, cramming in with his sister’s family and waking to an overexcited three year old with a reindeer fascination this close to Christmas isn’t high on the list, and having a space to retreat to, away from the strange dreams he has in her flat is welcome.

But then, he spots her the girl he’s always searching for in his dreams, the one who holds his thoughts and attention, awake and asleep. And there is something so special about her that he’s wondering just why he can’t turn away. Emmy is, down to her dimples and startlingly quiet manner that woman, and he’s certain that they know one another. Impossible, but they both feel it. And see things, snippets from the past. A man named Charles, two girls named Millie and Cat, and snowmen in the walled garden, ice skates in the museum, and a Christmas rose in the ballroom.

The intertwining of two loves: one fated to go unresolved for decades, yet never does the pull and draw to one another go away. With carelessly (or are they) dropped hints, constant déjà vu, and the recognition from both Elodie and Kate that the “Hall takes care of family”, both Tom and Emmy are drawn to one another and comfortable together, even as the apparitions seem to show themselves to both of them, crossing the lines between real and imagined, dreams and waking moments. Oh this was a lovely story that read quickly, and could have lasted far longer. The concept of a Hall reuniting souls seeking the love denied through circumstance and social position until freely able to express itself is wonderful, and gives a sense of fate and meant to be to the story that builds with each new moment and revelation.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Well I'm a total newbie to the Hartsford Mysteries series, but having read this delightful entertaining tale, it has certainly made me want to read the rest of the series. Such a beautiful cover too.

I absolutely loved the story, which was done in such a way that it all just came alive, felt like you were there experiencing it all. It was so magical, romantic and full of festive moments.

It had the perfect balance of history and current day, how it was in the past and then how it is in the present, many years down the line. It was all so cleverly entwined together.

Looking forward to my next visit to Hartsford already.

Tom & Emmy, Charles & Millie intertwined into a Christmas story of past & present.A beautiful story of love a hundred years apart. Emmy feels so much at home here at Hartsford Hall, it was as if the Hall knew her and surprisingly she knew the Hall! Tom has had many dreams of a beautiful woman over the years, more so when he visited his sister Kate at the Hall. Could it be they are meant to be together.
1884, Charles and Millie fall in love, present day Tom and Emmy meet for the first time and feel a connection. What do these strange visions mean for both couples, read the story and you will find out. This is the author’s second Christmas novella and part of the Hartsford Mysteries series 1. I do love a mystery and enjoyed reading this one. The characters were likeable and the background story rolled along nicely

First off, I cannot believe this is the first time I’m encountering Hartsford Hall. I have no clue how I missed these stories – but that was solved with a quick trip over to Amazon and I’ll be diving into this universe from the beginning over the next few weeks. Now, on to Watch For Me At Christmas.

I easily fell under the spell of Hartsford Hall, even though I’ve not yet read the earlier stories. And that is important to mention. I’m a reader who always tries to read connected stories or series from the start. This time that fact slipped past me… but I wasn’t the least bit lost, completely enjoyed this story with these characters and now want to go back and learn more.

Emmy and Tom make such a believable couple, even though some of the things they’re feeling and seeing defy logic. I liked that about them, that they could acknowledge that “something” is happening that doesn’t make sense but that they do and held on tight to that fact and each other. If you’ve followed the Hartsford Mysteries then you’ll recognize some familiar faces. And, actually, I cannot wait to go back and understand the nuances from the start – and I’ll probably do a re-read of Watch For Me At Christmas to experience this romance from a different perspective.

I had a very enjoyable time in this world, and any story that welcomes me, makes me want to learn more of the past is a story that has impact upon readers… and should be paid attention to as well. Do you have to read any of the other stories? No. You’ll find a charming, magical Christmas romance right here in this story that will capture your imagination and make you smile. And that’s why we read Romance, right?

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

A delightful and nicely done very quick read. Heads up that this does go back and forth in time and it does have ghosts= but it also has a nice story. Emmy and Tom are snowed in together and discover there's more to things than meets the eye. Odd to say no spoilers about a romantic novella but here you have it- discover for yourself! Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.
