While I think the idea of this book was good, and the pictures were bright and colorful, I felt like there was just too much. I think they could have simplified it a little to make it more appealing to children.

Aimed at young children, this book follows the characters through a day of good deeds and caring for the world and those around them. Told through rhyme, it was easy to get into the rhythm of the story and I know my class would love it for this aspect alone, though as an adult reader it didn't always flow as easily as it could have done.

There were lots of ideas on how children could get involve in changing the world before bedtime themselves. it reminded me very much of some books I'm sure are still floating around on my shelves aimed at older readers and used in conjunction with these could be a great place to start a whole school sustainability and RAK drive.

I received an eARC of this book from the publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this picture book! A great message on how to be kind to others and spread some good deeds. I think the message was very upbeat and each page was very colorful. Lots of great examples such as raising money for a good cause with a lemonade stand, or bringing a treat to someone who isn’t feeling well.
In a preschool setting this could start a great discussion, call to action and help kick off a unit study on kindness!
Thank you to Schiffer Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

I really loved the gorgeous illustrations in this book. Full of ideas to make the world a better place that can be done in our every day lives. Perfect bedtime reading for 5-8 year olds it provides a lot of further discussion prompts for parent when reading. The rhyming text doesn't flow as well as in most books but I think with the lively conversation starting points this does not really matter.

This book is all about how to help make the world a better place. There are little things we can do everyday to bring positive change. While I wasn't the biggest fan of the illustrations I loved the rhyming verse and message of this story.

'Change the World Before Bedtime' by Mark Kimball Moulton, Josh Chalmers, and Karen Hillard Good is a picture book to get young kids thinking about ways they can change the world around them.

The book follows a group of children throughout their day as they eat and play and recycle. The kids take cupcakes to sick friends and have a yard sale to build a well in Uganda. There are lots of other ideas along the way before bedtime. The book ends with some activity pages.

The art is cute. The text is supposed to rhyme and I'm picky about my rhyming text. This doesn't just roll off my tongue as I read out loud. Still it's an interesting idea for a kids book to teach them to give back rather than just take.

Flowing rhymes and fun times abound in this heartwarming story of good deeds. The illustrations are funky and original while the message translates to all ages. Practical suggestions and tips are included so that kids can easily help their neighbor or neighboring country. If every child was read this book regularly, the world would surely be a better place.

We enjoyed this book and it teaches lots of good things to the kids. There isn’t really a story to it and it seems a little scattered, basically like a list of good deeds for the children to do, but it is a nice book.

I am going to go against the majority of reviewers for this one, but I found this book too busy, confusing and full of slogans, labels etc. that took away from the message. The message of everyone, no matter how big or who you are can do something to make the world a better place is good, but this was not a good vehicle for that message. My grandchildren liked the illustrations, but they did not understand what the message was. Older children might understand this message better, but the presentation might be distracting. This is only my impression, others might not find this a problem. Some of the things suggested such as taking a treat to someone sick, donating items to sell to raise money for a school in Uganda, plant a tree or just speak kindly to others are all good suggestions, so there is some good that will come from this book if used well. Perhaps better in small groups such as a family or small reading groups. The publisher, Schiffer Publishing, generously provided me with a copy of this book to read. The rating, ideas and opinions are my own.

A very enjoyable book with fun and vivid illustrations. This book is about how children can change the world just with kindness, respect for the earth, respect for other people and just doing all around good things. From picking everyone for a game, composting, visiting a sick friend, donating things for a good cause and more this book gives children ideas on how to make the world a better place. This is a great way to introduce your children to caring for other people and their feelings, while doing something good. I recommend this book for 5+ yr. olds. It is also a great bedtime story for younger ones.

What a wonderful book filled with colorful, delightful illustrations that reflect a strong message that intends to affect the lives of many people around the world. We also loved the ideas page at the end of the book that is sure to start an activity that can lead to a greater movement. We are sure that a lot of our teachers in our district will find this book beneficial when we have our community service days and they are sure to request this book even for a lesson or a unit. This book will be the perfect fit for a bedtime story and for the classroom.

I think this book will prompt further discussions around the topics it covers. Great message and I like the activities towards the back. One thing I really didn't like is the random capital letters in the middle of words.

Fantastically written and beautifully illustrated. I like children's books that try and influence the child to be apathetic and kind. The last few pages have places to write ideas and thoughts which is a nice touch for planning more thoughtfulness. I will enjoy reading this to my daughter as she grows up.

I loved this book! The illustrations are cute and the message is wonderful. Teaching children how, even when young, their actions impact not only those around them but can have a great impact on those around the world and the environment. Solid ideas are given throughout the book. There is space near the end for the child to add their own ideas for good deeds and happy words along with some happy words from other languages. This is great encouragement for kids to think of others and the environment. Bien fait!

As a parent of young elementary age children, I enjoyed this book that shares ideas about how to be good citizens of our neighborhood community and as citizens of the world. Being aware of how we can build up each other not only helps our planet as a whole but also helps us to be the best people we can be.
