This isn't really my go to genre, so not really sure why I requested it, but thought I'd give it a go. I thought the main focus of the book was going to be on Frankie and Harry Mortimer. Those bits of the book I enjoyed and would have been interesting, finding out you've got a whole new family. But there were too many other tangents/stories/characters. It was all average rather than letting one story shine.

An easy read but lots of characters to get your head around. Not my favorite book from this author but ok for a beach day.

This is a delightful story about family, its ups and downs, its secrets, its surprises and overall, its unbreakable bond.

I'm not familiar with Lucy Diamond's work, and this was my first encounter with her. Easy to read, you are drawn into the story and its characters from the start: the Mortimer family, comprising of 50-years-married Mum and Dad, their four children and grandchildren. It's a large family, and most of the adults have their own narrative POV. They weave adeptly through the story, and it's not hard to become emotionally involved with them all. The characters are multi-faceted and likeable.

The ending is a little rushed and just a teeny weeny bit predictable, but this in no way affected my enjoyment. I'm certainly going to be reading more of this author. There's a cosiness and feel-good aura about her writing, and you can't help getting to the last page with an 'awww'. And we all need a dose of feel-good from time to time.

I would definitely say I am a fan of Lucy Diamond and as much as this book was very enjoyable and passed the time it certainly wasn't one of my favourites from this author. We meet Frankie who has found a letter from her late mother and it's a gift and a curse all in one. The letter explains about her father along with his name and all of this comes as such a surprise her impromptu trip ends up not going quite as she expected it to.

Frankie takes a chance and travels to York and ends up stumbling into the middle of a party to celebrate the wedding anniversary of Harry and Jeanie Mortimer. Of course this becomes an instant bombshell among the Mortimer family and as such the dominoes start to fall. I actually liked reading about the various Mortimer family members however there are a lot of threads to the story which normally doesn't bother me too much but for some reason it seemed a little too much with this story.

It was certainly an enjoyable read and an author that I will continue to read, however this one just wasn't one of my favourites

I am a big fan of Lucy Diamond, and this book has to be one of my favourites. I love how she creates such well rounded characters and weaves their stories together, overlapping with twists and turns you do not see coming. But ultimately, everybody ends up where they are supposed to be.

I particularly enjoyed how the women of the book were all so different and yet strong in the face of adversity. This is a book about women coming together and supporting each other, particularly with the Robyn storyline but also, unexpectedly, Jeanie and Alison. The Mortimer family are all likeable, faults and all, and I really hope there are sequels in the future.

This was such a lovely book. Wrote a print review in a magazine at the time it came out and at the time didn't understand I had to also post it on here. I don't think writing a review now will be helpful to the publisher or author. Apologies!

Not bad, but a lot of characters to get to grips with. This is a many layered story of family secrets and how they affect each member of the family. An easy, enjoyable read.

Unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me. I’m not a fan of chick lit but thought I would give this one a try. The writing was great and the storyline is an interesting idea, but it just wasn’t for me.

This is the story of what happens when Harry, head of The family, is suddenly faced with a secret from his past, and how it affects everyone in the family. It is written great detail and a warmth that makes you feel you know the characters. there’s a lot of characters which can be confusing but over all a lovely read

This book was fabulous. A family saga of love and betrayal. It was very well written and the characters came to life. Even though lots of different people in it it didn't become hard to follow. Would definitely recommend

Each person in the book has a story to tell whether it is a member of the Mortimer family, their partners or parents..
I absolutely loved it and I couldn’t put it down

A great easy to read book with likeable characters. When Frankie's mum dies she finds a letter which leaves her with questions to ask! The book follows Frankie's journey into the past. A story of friendship and the love, care and traumas of family.

Something To Tell You is a gripping tale of deceit and lies wrapped up in a normal family. The way that it unfolds is so captivating and I felt really engaged in the pages.

A letter after her mother died gives Frankie a shock, and acting upon what is in the letter gives her more shocks and surprises. She then gives more shocks to the Mortimer family, and the unravelling starts. Lots of shocks, surprises, and questions follow. Lucy Diamond is a master at relationships, and sorting them out.

A lovely heart warming story. Lucy Diamond is my summer read author and this one is another I can’t wait to re-read beside a pool on holiday.

I do love Lucy Diamond novels and this one was such a gorgeous read! Frankie’s mum recently died and she left behind a letter for her daughter. On reading it Frankie discovers the truth about her birth and who her father is. She decides to go and see him and walks right into the middle of a Mortimer family gathering. From there we follow Frankie as she tries to make a connection with her father and other family members. We also hear from other Mortimers and see how their lives are and how they feel about Frankie. Things aren’t always plain-sailing and there are some real heart-rending moments in this book but on the whole it’s a feel-good read and I very much enjoyed it!

A very light-hearted and easy read, Something to Tell You was enjoyable in places but contained too many cliches and obvious, predictable storylines. I found the writing to be clumsy and did not enjoy the prose style at all. Very two-dimensional characters and the females could have been written stronger. If you enjoy an extremely light family story with a happy ending you might enjoy this.
