The second in series. Just-off-the-mainland Island romance, wonderful characters. Slow, sweet. Brooke is a bit of a mess. She is mayor and has to adjust to the role just as she finds someone who interests her, Leo. Cue her big chance, twice over. Her path in both cases is not smooth, and her ambitions require her to step outside her comfort zone and rely on some really fun islanders.

Brooke former science teacher is the first female and youngest major of Trillium Bay. I felt weighed down by too much useless details with no connection to the characters.

It's been awhile since a book made my heart swoon. That good 'ole, get caught up in a book and the characters feelings to where you feel genuine empathy.....like they were your friend. That's what this book did for me. From how utterly relatable Brooke was, to how genuine in her feelings for everyone were, just hit me with all the feels. A book worth picking up <3

I loved this story. It reminded me of my vacation on Mackinac Island as the kid. No cars.. only bikes and horses. The community is tight and eccentric. Not everyone gets along, but everyone is included. I love the idea of falling for a sexy stranger, and there's a little mystery too.

Brooke has lived in Trillium Bay her whole life and now as mayor she wants to make some changes. The meeting for on are in the back of the bar with everyone drinking and no one listening. She has to devise a way to change this and to make it better. She doesn't count on Leo Walker showing up in her town and sweeping her off her feet.
Leo Walker is in Trillium Bay under false pretenses when he falls for the mayor he can't tell her the truth as he is about to turn her bubble of a world upside down.

This was a book that will show how things are not always what you believe. It is emotional, however it was also fun to read.

I adore Tracy Brogan and always find her stories charming. I found myself to root for the characters and really loved Gigi. I like that these are light, quick, clean reads that are guaranteed to entertain and make me smile.

Brooke has managed to live her life taking care of others. When her mother died she took care of her two younger sisters. After college she returned to Trillium Bay as a teacher and now she has taken on the job of Trillium Bay’s youngest mayor.

But life seems to be passing her by and while everyone around her is finding love and starting families she’s still alone.

Leo is the new bartender in town and there are immediate sparks but Brooke knows that Trillium Bay isn’t for everyone and Leo will most likely move on when the tourists leave. She wants her forever and Leo most definitely isn’t the settling down sort of man.

My Kind of Forever is old school contemporary romance. It’s a comfortable, easy and enjoyable read.

This book has a little bit of everything. Mystery. Romance. Comedy. While the plot could have gone a little slap-stick, Brogan does a great job of provide entertainment while still maintaining a realistic feel that keeps the reader engaged and a general feeling that this could be an island that anyone would go to for vacation. Brooke and Leo are as down to earth as you can get as characters go. The supporting characters really add to the story and really add to the small town feel. As I've come to expect from Brogan's writing, the story had the feel of a romantic comedy and anyone who enjoys the genre will love this book.

I enjoyed this book even more than the first one in the series. I'd worked on Mackinac Island, the inspiration for Trillium Bay, one summer, and in the first book, all the familiar places with different names were a little distracting. This time, I was used to it, and it helped enhance the book for me. I liked this storyline much better than the first one, especially the twists and turns it takes. It was fun to see what the characters from the first book have been up to (especially GiGi, she's a hoot!) I could relate to Brooke and how she'd always lived life on the safe side and had a hard time changing her mindset to live on the edge a little bit. I will read Tracy Brogan's books. They're quick reads, and relatable, and so funny. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Interesting story about dealing with grief and how everyone handles it differently. I wasn't thrilled with how it ended as it was rather abrupt.

This is the second book in the Trillium Bay series. When I received an offer from the publisher to read and review, via Net-Galley, I eagerly accepted. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

This book has a great deal to offer. he small—town aspect is well done. Ms. Brogan’s writing is clean and flows well. The characters are engaging, including the secondary characters. The plot is unique, and there are a lot of delightfully humorous moments.

The heroine’s character is enjoyable for the most part. She certainly has plenty of energy and wants to do a great job as the new mayor. However, her lack of self-esteem made it hard for me to imagine her running a success campaign to win an elected seat. To me, it seems out of character. Nonetheless, I found her appealing and wanted her to find her happy ending.

As a hero, Elliot is a mixed bag. He isn’t a straight up guy with her and hides secrets even after they become romantically involved. Those flaws make it hard for me to admire him. Although, he does redeem his character by the end of the book.

The romance between the hero and heroine is strong and I enjoyed how their relationship developed. The chemistry is fairly intense at times, the love scenes are based more in the emotions than their physical attraction, not that there’s any lack of that.

If you enjoy a romance with engaging characters and plenty of humor, then you will enjoy Ms. Brogan’s newest offering. Although this one was not as enjoyable as the first book in the series, I still enjoyed it and will read the next book when it comes out. Happy reading!

MY KIND OF FOREVER (Trillium Bay #2) by Tracy Brogan is a charming contemporary romance. This cozy romance has an adult romance with no explicit sex, an endearing and funny heroine, a handsome newcomer, a quirky island population and a side mystery to be solved. This is the second book in this series, but it can be easily read as a standalone.
Brooke Callaghan is the new mayor of Trillium Bay on Wenniway Island. She is the first female and the youngest person to ever hold that position. It is quite a change from her role as a school teacher on the island, but she is excited about the challenge. Between her new job as mayor and dealing with all the town’s characters and her own extended family, she does not want to be attracted to this new, handsome stranger. Brooke wants forever, not just a few weeks.
Leo Walker is a newcomer to the island and is hired as a bartender at the local pub. He is handsome, single and interested in Brooke. Leo says he is on the island for a break after the security company he worked for closed down and to write a book. There is definitely chemistry between Leo and Brooke, but he will not commit to staying on the island.
A strange private investigator shows up in Trillium Bay and claims there is a jewel thief hiding on the island, but Brooke knows of no new islander except the new bartender. Rumors are all over town and everyone has a different tale to tell. What will Brooke do when she discovers long held secrets and the real reason Leo is on the island?
I loved Brooke and all of her family and friends. To have a friend that makes specialty pasties for dancers, a grandmother who wants to send the ashes of her exes up in fireworks and all the others island characters had me laughing several times throughout the story. This is a cozy romance with a mystery thrown in that surprised me with its resolution. I will definitely be looking for more to read from the entertaining Trillium Bay series.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆
This is the second book in the series, and as I adored the first book, I had no hesitation in requesting this one! I think that the just-off-the-mainland island romance novel lends itself to some wonderful characterisations, and this series is no exception. The pace is also slow, sweet, and drama can be magnified.

Brooke is, let's be honest, a bit of a mess. She has become mayor and has to adjust to the role, just as she finds someone who interests her, Leo. Cue her big chance, twice over. Her path in both cases is not smooth, and her ambitions, whilst modest, require her to step outside her comfort zone and rely on some really fun islanders. I liked that Emily, Ryan, and Gigi from book one are there to support her ambitions, and to remind her that things can work out.

Tracy Brogan does a fine job of converting small island life into an easy read, thank you. Looking forward to the last sister, Lily, getting her happily ever after too!

This is a super cute book that takes place in Michigan. There is supposedly a jewel thief that is hiding out out on the island. Brooke and her family are a tight knit family. They are quite quirky and everyone should fall in love with her grandma. I would love to read more about her sister, maybe there will be a book about her and Tad. Is there really a jewel thief and will Brooke ever find true love after having her heart shattered once before. Thank you Tracy for another great story. I love the small town, tight knit communities and now I want to road trip to Michigan this summer.

Ms Brogan is one of those authors that when I read her works, I always want to kick myself for not reading her more consistently.

My Kind of Forever is an unique and entertaining story with a fantastic cast of characters. While Brooke is the focus of the story, we get to see a good bit of her sisters, family, and town.

Brooke is a character that I liked and connected with, but there were also times when I wanted to shake her! Watching her interact with Leo was fun, and I appreciated the slightly slow burn that comes from caution and maturity.

The conflict element in My Kind of Forever is one I didn’t expect, but was wonderfully executed. This is a second in a series of books. There were places where I wished I had read the first for a little more background, but those places didn’t keep me from completely enjoying this book. I will have to go back and read book one, not to mention keeping a look out for book 3 in the series.

My first book from Charlee James, but I’ll be back for more. While the search for Luke, Jason’s nephew, had a quick turn around time, I thought the pacing of both the story and Jason’s relationship with Alex was right on target. Having Alex be the wary one and Jason ready to go all in with her was an interesting change of pace...when it’s usually the male in the couple who is commitment-shy.
MY one caveat would be to categorize this book more as a contemporary with suspense overtones, rather than a military romance. Just because one character is former military doesn’t, IMO, instantly mean it should be labeled as one.
I look forward to not just reading the 1st Cape Cod Shores book, but also more stories written by Ms. James.

Tracy Brogan is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. Her stories never fail to warm my heart and tickle my funny bone. In fact, I laughed so loud and so often while reading My Kind of Forever that I was surprised the person in the condo next door didn't start pounding on the wall...or knock on my door to find out what was so funny so they could enjoy it too!

I've fallen in love with Brogan's Trillium Bay and the characters who live there. If you're looking for stories that makes you sigh with satisfaction...smile with joy...maybe shed a few tears...and laugh until your sides hurt, then this is the series for you. And, if you want to start at the beginning, don't miss book one in the Trillium Bay series: My Kind of You. It's currently on sale in e-book format at only $1.99. I loved it!

This is the first Tracy Brogan book I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The residents of Trillium Bay are quirky, funny and very hilarious. Leo and Brooke were clearly meant to be together even if huge obstacles were conspiring to keep them apart. I'd totally recommend this book to all romance readers as it was a beautiful read.

Awesome book, this is a must read. I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of this book.
We have a teacher turned mayor (Brooke) and a bartender writing a book or is he (Leo). Sparks fly, romance kindles. We have Brooke’s slightly eccentric Gigi and the rest of the family to keep us engaged.
Not to mention the quaint no cars allowed community and the towns people. Is there a former jewel thief living amongst them?
Read on for romance, family life, mystery and an online pastie/ post mistress crime solver.
