I've read and really enjoyed a number of books by this author. I have enjoyed each and every one of them.
Good story lines that will grip you from start to finish.

This book - Bang to Rights, is the second novel in the Liberty Chapman series, If you read and enjoyed the first book then it's safe to say you will enjoy this one.

This is a good modern family thriller about the Greenwood family. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the criminal world.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. Not sure what to write about this book as it started off ok and then sort of fell apart so I am afraid to say I gave up.

Bang to Rights, the second novel in the Liberty Chapman series, follows the aforementioned character as she tries to navigate around her family who are involved in various criminal behaviours. She doesn't want to upset them given she has only just reunited with them after being estranged but equally, she doesn't agree with all of the illegal pies they appear to have their fingers in. It's a difficult situation where Liberty can't do right for doing wrong. If she helps protect her family she is liable to be prosecuted by relentless police officers Amira Hassani and Sol Connolly, but if she decides to stay out of it she will end up in hot water with her family.

It is imperative that you read the first in the series, Taking Liberties, before this one as it contains much of the background to the family issues which are a substantive part of book two, most of this story will not make sense to you otherwise. Of course, it's necessary to suspend your disbelief throughout the novel but I have no issue with that when everything else falls into place. Well written, perfectly paced, with intriguing and excellently drawn characters, this is a great read. Lots of twists in the tale and a very satisfying conclusion were the cherry on the cake. I look forward to the next addition to the series.

Many thanks to Constable for an ARC.

Although this book started with great promise, it failed to keep me gripped. The plot did not quite interest me as much as I had hoped and I felt the character of Liberty was just too unbelievable. It left me disappointed. Thanks to Net Galley for my copy.reviews on Goodreads and Facebook with Amazon to follow.

Bang to Rights is the first book that I have read by Helen Black and whilst I found it interesting enough I did feel that there was an excellent story in there which just didn't evolve.

This was mainly due to the dual time frame which was used with the flashbacks/ backstory slowing the narrative of the main story.

Would I read any future books by this author? Yes I would as the main story was very good

Having read the Lilly Valentine series by Helen Black, it was interesting to see which direction she would take us with Liberty Chapman. I read Taking Liberties prior to reading this book and I'm glad I did as it provides the background for Bang to Rights.

Liberty has returned home to Leeds from London to be with her estranged family. Her family run their club business close to the wire and Liberty tries to stay away from the goings on as much as possible. However, when her brother Frankie is shot, she has to decide how far she is willing to go to help protect her family.

Sol Connolly and Amira Hassani are police officers; Hassani believes Liberty to be as unscrupulous as the rest of her family and she will do everything in her power to bring Liberty to justice.

An excellent book with a great cast of characters, the story line provides glimpses into Liberty’s past and the reason for her estrangement from her family. The story has plenty of twists and an excellent ending. I hope we see more of Liberty and her family in the future. .
