I read this and then on looking at Netgalley realised with a sinking feeling that I was ahead of myself (rarely happens!) and this was months off being released. I then had two options. Wait, tapping my foot every time I looked in my draft folder or, ... yup, I went for option b and released way before the book was even close to being on sale. Only thing was, when I went to Amazon it said that actually, I was totally wrong and here we are-it's out already! Phew and yay!!!

So, this is the story of Chloe who works in a digital marketing agency called Top Banana in Brighton. From the get-go I knew that this was totally my type of book as her and we meet her and her colleagues as they get too acquainted with each other (she had to sit in a hot tub with them) on a team building exercise. There was that great mix of cringy over the top colleagues and friends you're relieved she has to get her through a working day in an office that is all about being seen. Chloe's work for me is actually as much the riveting part of this book. Of course the main part is that after a break up that gives her a shock, Chloe decides to do the honourable thing and marry herself to show how committed she is to, um, herself. I'll admit I loved some of the sentiments and life lessons that were brought home to us through all of this, but it definitely didn't hold my attention as much as her life outside all of this, with her work and her friends and family, that were a great mix of likeable and totally unlikable and downright selfish (yes as usual, I didn't like a character I think we were meant to like and feel for, I was gutted when things took this turn but she brought it on herself(!)). The comedy was right up my street as were the characters that made me nod along and I definitely enjoyed this, and look forward to reading more from Sophie Tanner. Thanks to Trapeze and Netgalley for the book in return for an honest review.

Such a fun read! If you need some light-hearted humour in your life, don't pass this one by!

Chloe expects to have a future with her partner Ant; what she doesn't expect is to return from a work trip finding that things have changed between them. If it was only that, she may have coped but throw in a nutty flatmate and a bitch co-worker, and Chloe has plenty to deal with.

This is a fabulous, fun, giggly read. With plenty going on, there are bound to be some situations which every reader can identify with, and I chuckled my way through the majority of the book. So enjoyable, and definitely a book which left me with a sense of happiness and a smile on my face - and well worth googling the author, as you'll find out that most of it is true!! Thoroughly recommended!

My thanks to publisher Orion for my copy via NetGalley. This is my honest and unbiased review.

What an uplifting and empowering book especially for single women.

Like 'Chloe, I found myself nodding along to so many of her observations about how people perceive single women, and given I am of a similar age to the main character, I find myself thinking whether I should marry myself.

Although perhaps without all the drama, and social media trending that Chloe created.

There is nothing like taking a stand and going against normal conventions, to find out who your real friends and supporters are, as Chloe discovers.

This is a wonderfully funny book, her exes are a nightmare, her one attempt at online dating amusing, and just what some of the other characters wee doing for attention, utterly eye rolling!

This is one accomplished debut author and I am already looking forward to seeing what her next book will be.

Thank you to Netgalley and Trapeze for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Thanks to NetGalley, Orion Publishing Group and Trapeze Books for the ARC of Reader, I Married Me! by Sophie Tanner.

When Chloe finds herself newly single, she turns to internet dating. After a particular uncomfortable date, she announces that she is going to stop looking for another person to make her happy, and is instead going to look to herself for that - with the ultimate commitment of marrying herself. With only a handful of her friends supporting her, Chloe finds herself the centre of a media storm, the focus of a tv documentary, and in charge of a scheme at work that finds her working as part of a charity helping to befriend eldery people facing loneliness, all at the same time as trying to focus on finding her true self and accepting herself just as she is.

I found this book to be a bit of a slow starter, but once I got to around a quarter of the way through, the pace picked up. It was an overall enjoyable read, with some fun moments and a general feeling of positivity and acceptance.

The story did feel a bit disjointed at times; I really liked the sections focussed on Chloe’s work with the befriending charity, but somehow these didn’t always gel with the rest of the story for me, and I think this probably could have been fleshed out into a separate book. On the whole, I found the characters unlikeable - with only a couple of exceptions - and Chloe was very naïve.

I was interested to find that the author actually did ‘marry’ herself, and that this book has been based on her own experiences.

3 stars out of 5

I really enjoyed this story as it just promotes how you should feel about yourself in a really thought provoking manner. The story has its highs and lows and you can empathise with the characters throughout...
