Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

I read this book while night feeding my baby. It was funny at times but also I found it a bit annoying at others.
Easy enough to read that I didn’t put it down.
My general impression wasn’t fantastic but that Could have been my exhausted new mom state though.

I had never heard of Kathryn Wallace or her blog or Facebook page, but this did not stop me from really enjoying her book. It is a lighthearted read with many laugh out loud moments.
Gemma and Becky are next door neighbours. They both have two children, and their friendship develops when they decide they will find Gemma a new man and Becky a job. Will they be successful in their plan?
A really good read.
Thanks to NetGalley for a Kindle copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book, but it has taken me a few months to read it as I just couldn’t connect to the story as I normally do.

I liked the authors writing style and few the characters were well written. I just can’t put my finger on the reason I didn’t love it.

This is just my personal opinion.

Absolutely hilarious.
Becky snd Gemma are the original crazy friendship but oh what fun to hear their tales and actions.
Gemma's transition from beginning to end of the story is so funny and realistically true, the transition from non dating to dating is hard and painful and when throwing in a son with a fascination of his balls, a crazy wilfull daughter quite happy to shout out anything, and a childlike ex things will certainly not be dull.
I laughed, i cried with laughter, and i smiled.

Anyone who has ever stood at a school gate will love this hilarious takedown of modern motherhood. Single mum Gemma has been struggling since her husband "Nick The Dick" ran off to discover his inner self and wouldn't mind a bit more romance in her life. Meanwhile Becky next door is bored to tears with being a trophy wife to her husband Lovely John and wants to kick-start her career. Can Gemma and Becky help each other transform their lives? And will the local Alpha Mum (all leather trousers, Botox and helicopter parenting) get her claws into the handsome new teacher?

If you enjoyed Motherland you'll love this acutely observed and unashamedly sweary comedy. My favourite part was the children - so often the kids in these stories are poorly painted stereotypes but real thought went into their characters. I'd love to see what Ava will be like when she grows up...

I abso-bloody-lutely loved this book from start to finish. I have followed Kathryn's blog I Know I Need to Stop Talking on Facebook and Instagram for a number of years now and her updates often leave me laughing out loud, so when I heard she was releasing a novel I couldn't wait to read it and was delighted when I was chosen to read a copy. If you are familiar with Kathryn and her updates you will be familiar with her children Beth and Jamie and how amazing and unique they are.

Although this book is a work of fiction us avid Facebook followers know where the inspiration came from for this story and I'm so pleased that some (a lot) of Beth and Jamie made it into the book. The story follows Gemma a single mum of two, who juggles parenting, working, dating and a new best friend. She seems to think she is failing whilst everyone else around her sees how amazing she actually is. I think every mum on the planet who has ever done a school run can sympathise with both Gemma and Becky - I know I could identify really well with them at some points especially with the playground cliques and sports day competitiveness oh and getting children ready for school on a morning - we're often the last ones through the gates too as my children are just as slow at getting ready - I assure you, you're not alone in your struggles.. I laughed a lot whilst reading this book and finished it within a few days as it was such a great read and I couldn't put it down. I would love to read more about Gemma, Tom, Becky, Lovely John and their children so, please, please, please I.K.I.N.T.S.T write a follow-up in the future.

This is about Gemma and Becky two next door neighbors trying to juggle life, children and work as well as juggle the antics which happen in the playground. This was very funny and I'm so pleased I read it. I loved Gemma and Beckys friendship and the bond they have with each other almost instantly. I loved Tom as well he really cares about the kids he teaches and has a good heart. I'd love to see a follow up. This is a book that will have you laughing out loud and saying did they just say that? I can't wait for more from Kathryn Wallace.

Thanks goes to net galley and the publishers for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

You all know by now rom coms/ chick lit/ mom lit are totally my bag, and so I jumped for this, the story of Gemma who is very much trying to juggle work life with parenting, aghast that she is floundering at the latter, only finding out about projects and school trips the night before and having to deal with inappropriate words coming out of her kids’ mouths.

I suppose I’ll jump straight in. Gemma, and her new neighbour Becky, whose child has just started the same school, are in a world of privilege, and one where they need to be keeping up with everyone or else they’ll be talked about by a group of mum’s that are always ready to talk! I really enjoyed all the day to day interactions, Gemma realising at the end of Christmas holidays that her and her child were supposed to be reading every day, finding out the night before a school tour that a) it was on and b) that waterproof trousers were necessary.

I liked all of this aspect to it, the one place it headed a bit south for me was the language. Basically every single word for every part of the anatomy out there being used by the kids or them suddenly mentioning sexual things, which is fine and even funny at times but it was very regular and got a bit old. Bad language was a given and I don’t mind that either but it was practically on every single page, a child saying something or Becky’s constant cursing … and I found myself sighing and willing the book to speed up.

The story was a nice idea, Gemma’s workplace having issues while Becky searched for a job that would fit in around her daughter and also a point of view from a new male teacher who was trying to cope with pushy mums. I wanted to see how they all got on, and didn’t consider not finishing, but at the same time this wasn’t for me. Thanks to Little Brown and Netgalley for the book in return for an honest review.

The chaotic lives of Gemma and Becky, and especially their kids. How to make everything better for everyone....

Utterly hysterical

Didn't find this book funny at all It's just one long, rather humdrum blog. Probably I'm the wrong age as I'm a proud grandma. To be honest, I was put off in the first few pages when the young mother couldn't be bothered to read with her children over the Christmas holidays. Every mother should make time for that!

I love this lady - her blog is hilarious and spot on! But this book was just too realistic for me = it wasn't humorous, it was daily life. So for that reason, I struggled to engage with the book and found that i just couldn't read on.

I wish her every success but sadly this book just didn't work for me. Maybe in a few years when my kids are older, I can read the book as a fond memory of days gone by....

Brilliant. I laughed and laughed. Read it in one day. Great characters.
Funny, touching and modern. Not usually a lover of romantic comedy novels but this was just amazing.

I absolutely loved this book it made me laugh until I cried, I've not been on the PTA but I have been a mum at the school gates and the observations in this book are spot on. I shall be recommending it to all the school mums I know.

I enjoyed this book, it was a really fun read. I loved Gemma and Becky's friendship and found their lives much more true to life than most other mum fiction. I really liked the focus on working mums and flexible working, really timely and positive.
A perfect read to snort with laughter over whilst lying in a bath with a glass of bubbles (if you can get the kids to stay out of the bathroom for long enough)!

This book is both honest , raw and light hearted. It will make you smile,
It is about the daily issues mothers comes across. It also touches with real life.
You will be agreeing with most of what’s being said.
I did enjoy this read.

Well I can safely say that Kathryn Wallace has Absolutely Smashed It with this novel. I loved it and couldn't put it down.

Gemma is a single mum with two young kids - and when Becky moves in next door with her two kids, they quickly become best friends. Feeling fed up of their lives they challenge themselves to find love (Gemma) and getting a new job (Becky) but things don't quite go to plan....

With plenty of Wallace's trademark humour, that fans of her blog - I Know I Need to Stop Talking will love, this had me properly laughing out loud several times.

I really enjoyed this and it provided an excellent reprieve from endless psychological thrillers!

I very much enjoyed this book, it is very fast paced so you are fully ingrained in the everyday life in Gemma's & Becky's households very quickly. Both of which I would feel very at home in being a mum myself. I did giggle quite a bit on some of the observations of school life at the gates. We've all been there with the PTA mums!

If you are after a light, quick read that will make you giggle about life as a parent where we are all spinning plates of different sizes and at different speeds. I am certain you will enjoy this book. I am now keen to read more by the author who also has a blog. I do like the fact that the author has written a fiction book rather than just writing longer blogs for a book which I feel doesn't always work. A book I would recommend wholeheartedly to fellow friends who are also spinning their own plates!

Thank you to NetGalley & publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.

I knew I would love this book and I do! It’s a light hearted but honest look at mummy’s. Yummy mummy’s and can’t quite manage everything mummy’s. Loads of real life situations at and within the school gates, lots of swearing as life gets out of control and lots of kids pushing their luck. Wonderful, funny, recognisable and thoroughly enjoyable. #IKIMST
