We all have that one friend, who we love dearly, but every time she calls, we intentionally ignore her calls and send them to the voicemail. Why? Because she just doesn't shut up. She talks your ear off for hours and hours and hours and doesn't let you add a single word to a conversation. That's how I felt reading this book. It was NON STOP chatter and my head was hurting.

I’ve had ‘Bridesmaids’ on my Netgalley shelf for a while and I’ve been dying to read it so I’m absolutely thrilled I’ve just finished this beautiful book.

Jane was dumped on her hen night by the awful Andy so it’s no wonder she has negative feelings about weddings. So when her best friend Rachel gets engaged Jane has to portray that she’s so thrilled for her best friend. However understandably she is feeling protective over Rachel and doesn’t want her to get hurt. Well what could possibly go wrong for Rachel’s wedding?!

Jane also lives with her best friend Freddie, though they are really close Jane is fantasising about something more but she obviously doesn’t want to ruin the friendship that they have. Freddie is an absolute gentleman, he’s kind and funny and there when Jane needs him. But how will Jane and Freddie navigate this friendship when feelings start to bubble up? I was totally wanting them to have a happy ending but you need to read this story to find out!

‘Bridesmaids’ is not only planning the actual wedding, there is an eventful engagement party, a hilarious hen party and then there’s the actual wedding. The story is packed to the rim of drama, miscommunications, secrets and of course friendship. Jane also has the help of Sally, Maddie and Beth to organise this wedding and I loved each character for their unique personalities and the way they bantered. I am a huge fan of Zara’s writing as she had me laughing out loud and feeling very frustrated! This is what makes a great rom com and I can’t wait for Zara’s next creation. I give ‘Bridesmaids’ 5*/5*

Thank you to One More Chapter for an advanced copy of this book via Netgalley.

This book is A definite must read, with laughter along the way. Shows how secrets can be misconstrued by close friends. Where there is heartache for some, the others find their happiness.
A close bond of school friends going through the different phases of life. I must admit I was taken aback once or twice. Read this book!!! Amazing

I love Zara Stoneley books! This is the story of Jane and how she became her best friends bridesmaid! This is very funny, a little heartwarming and a truly charming and delightful read. Absolute escapism at its best!

What a lovely book - real characters with ups and downs, horrid bosses, busybody mothers and a series of male characters that - for the most part - you wish would crawl back under whatever rock they’d come from!!
But not hunky Freddie - he’s a dreamboat - but Jane is determined they’re just friends!!
Cue some great misunderstandings, some run ins with the boss where he picks her up and sorts her out, and generally being a good mate.
Obviously with the theme of bridesmaids, we meet Jane’s bestie Rachel and her gaggle of bridesmaids - each with a story to tell - alongside the cast of undesirable men.
Lots of fun, frolics and friendships along the way (with the obvious misunderstandings) mean that this story pootles along at a fair old rate and keeps you wanting more!
I always enjoy Zara Stoneley’s writing and this is no exception.

4* fun, frolics and wedding mishaps!!

This was a cute story. Nothing very heavy or serious. Just some naive youngsters coming to terms with life. As a woman who has crossed this stage of being clueless, it was fun reading about the girl friends who are all at different cross roads in their lives.

So, the bride Rachel. She had her eyes just set on one goal, getting married. Frankly, I could see that train wreck coming from so far. But I guess I have the benefit of becoming cynical after so many life experiences. That said, I am glad things ended the way they did for her.

Maddie and Sally both regretting their hasty decisions in their youth. Maddie being the soft one in the group who lost someone long time ago and still regrets losing out on him. And Sally, who thinks she is always in competition with Maddie and who has that someone in her life but knows that things are not as perfect as she they would be. Sally behaves like a bitch most of the times, but it's all just her insecurities coming out at different situations.

Beth was supposed to be the badass of the group, but she is now a single mum handling her responsibilities with maturity.

And finally, Jane, broken hearted after her engagement ended because of her cheating beau. People are walking on egg shells around her worried about upsetting her. And Jane herself thinks that she is still not over her ex. But little does she realize that the cure for her a heart break was in front of her all along. While many situations between her and Freddie seemed so innocent, I mean, surely she can't be that clueless.

And all the girls have secrets. Will the secrets come out ? Will it destroy their friendship ? Life is always with twists and turns and this story, though very predictable, was a good read.

Friends to lovers? Absolutely yes.

The book as a whole was really enjoyable, but I struggled to get into it initially. I'm glad I persevered though.

It felt rather long, and could do with condensing by 20-25%.

I flipped regularly between love and disdain for Jane, the main character.

Also some of the book was a little incredulous.

Bridesmaids by Zara Stoneley is a swoon-worthy romance that is sure to sweep you off your feet. A story that is sure to make you laugh and cry as you read this roller coaster of emotions.

The kind of flighty characters women are stereotyped as and annoy the hell out of me. I just couldn’t get into it.

Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for this early copy,

It was a funny read but I struggled to get into it. The formatting was not the best.

I'm not one to wish a book could be a movie, but with this one, if it were turned into one, I'd watch it with my girlfriends and laugh out loud or sigh and even cringe at some moments. I guess what's good about this book is the fact that you can relate to what the characters experience.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.

This was a great read. Following (as you would expect) a group of bridesmaids, each with their own secrets, it's packed full of drama, laugh out loud moments, and plenty of twists.

I only really chose to read it on a whim, because it seemed like a light hearted read. However, I was surprised how much I ended up enjoying it. It had more depth than I expected, and the characters were all great, genuinely funny and believable.

Definitely recommend this one if you're looking for a fun read to pull you out of a reading slump. Would also be perfect as a beach/summer holiday read.

I love love love Zara Stoneley books and this one has to be the best one so far!

I loved the characters, especially Jane, she was quirky, getting over something in her past and trying to move on. But she was very comical and no matter what, had me laughing out loud or if I was on the train, trying to suppress a huge laugh, so I ended up snorting. The things that came out of Jane’s mouth were definitely something I here myself doing a whole lot! Especially when something is going wrong or I’ve said something I shouldn’t of.

All the characters were fantastic and there was only 1 I didn’t like, but that’s due the person he is and not being able to keep it zipped up!

The way this book all flowed together was perfect, there didn’t seem to be any specific kind of timeline, it just happened in succession. The way it was laid out with the parts did make it slightly easier to gauge where we were and what was about to happen.

Favourite part had to of course be Freddie bringing little Louie home (kitten) and of course a certain meeting of minds and other parts! I refuse to give you any more details as I’d be giving too much away. If you want to find out, read it for yourself!!

I don’t think I can write about what I didn’t like as it was fan “bloody” tastic! Cannot recommend this gem enough, especially if you love a bit of comedy and wit!
