Bridesmaids is a laugh out loud kind of read! I loved the humor, and the brilliant friendships between the characters. Overall it was a swell read!

Absolutely loved this novel! Excellent character development, the storyline was fluid and kept me in suspense and wanting to learn more about the characters.

Zara Stoneley is one of my favourite authors in this genre and I was not disappointed with Bridesmaids. A hilarious read and just what I needed after a run of thrillers.

I enjoyed reading Bridesmaids... eventually. Full disclosure, I started reading this a few weeks ago and about 10% in I was a bit bored. nothing really stood out for me. So, I put it to one side, read a few other things to try to take my mind away and then went back into it with a fresh mind and fresh opinions.

I think the hardest thing to get used to was the POV of Jane. I wasn't keen on her first as she seemed really self absorbed. But after a while she grew on me and I started to enjoy her POV more.

By the end, I did enjoy the book. I did have some issues with some of the characters and their behavior. I wasn't keen on Rachel and her expectations of her hens... Jane had been dumped at her hen party and the other bridesmaids had a conflict of interest... it was hard to read at times. But I liked Freddie and in fact Jane became a lot more bearable when Freddie came on board!

This was my first book by Zara Stoneley and I will read more, despite getting a little stressed at some of the characters and their actions.

A lovely, light and humorous read!
Bridesmaids is exactly that, friends getting together to support Rachel in her upcoming journey to becoming a bride. Though the story revolves around the friendships of the very different characters of the women and their secrets, I was more invested in Jane and Freddie, with their will-they-won't-they relationship. There were plenty of relatable moments, although I did question just how accident prone people are, but that aside the story is very well written with lots of humour. I really enjoyed it.

Rom-Com at it's finest! The first chapter gives you a taste of mystery before diving into the story. The plot, which follows wedding plans and a wedding, is full of comic situations and commentary.

There are plot twists, even some small, but they make the book wonderfully hilarious. Yes, there those "gasp omg!" moments and face plan moments too.

If you're looking for a light read with comedy, I recommend this book easily.

At first this was a very hard book to get into. The conversations didn’t hold me and I was often confused about who was talking, when they were speaking or thinking, and what they were even saying. I even took a break, read another book, then came back to this one. Although I was still often confused about the dialogue, it was still a good book that I am glad I was able to finish. At time the actions seemed a bit far fetched but I guess that added to the humor and drama.

What a fun read! This takes place mostly in London and focuses on Jane, a delightful, slightly flighty budding photographer. She has been trying to get back to even , after being dumped by her fiance, while at her hen party, when her best friend announced huge news, causing Jane to have to play nice with the others, all with secrets, and do a lot of inward growing. Along for the ride is her flatmate, Freddy, helping her up and causing mischief. I loved the closeness of Jane's relationships. You can feel the love and irritation, that come from close relationships. You feel that all involved care about each other.
Would love to read more by this author, just my cup of tea! This read was a fun glimpse into the lives of good friends, with quite a few secrets, that make the whole journey , a worthy read, if you enjoy friendship, romance, and laughter

“Bridesmaids” is the funny story of a to-be-bride, Rachel, who gets to gather her best friends for her wedding with her dodgy boyfriend Michael. Jane hates wedding matters since her boyfriend dumped her during her own hen party. Sally is married to Maddie’s ex-boyfriend, and Beth is mum and anybody didn’t know it. So, covered secrets, white lies and kind of misunderstandings will give us a story plenty of emotions.


Maybe, the relation between Jane and her flatmate Freddie is sort of predictable but it doesn’t make you lots the curiosity in them, all the other way round, you will want to know more about them.


I like the most its speedy reading with some twists at the end of the plot that gets you toyally jaw-dropping. Like the own to-be bride says: it will be an unforgettable wedding.

Another amusing romp of a story - great cast of larger than life characters, plenty of relationship dramas and laugh out loud moments. A great light read - perfect for the beach. And a happy ending - what more do you want?

Love, love, love! This one is funny and endearing. This group of friends has some of the funniest misunderstandings. The secret keeping is full of slap your forehead moments. Poor Jane gets herself into the most awkward situations. I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced read.

Bridesmaids turned out to be a really fun read with some laugh out loud moments and complicated situations. The group of friends who are brought together as bridesmaids for Rachel are all distinct characters with their own issues to work through. Central to them is Jane, who can't see what is before her eyes and who spends a lot of time trying to forget her disastrous engagement and wedding plans. There are secrets which swirl around and I must say that there are a few red herrings to keep you on your toes.

This is a quick, fast read which will cheer you up if needed and keep you reading to the end. It is divided into 3 parts as the wedding preparations get underway and culminates at the wedding day. With friendships under strain, it nevertheless made for a funny, humorous read.

In short: A sparkling romcom which puts female friendship under the microscope.

I absolutely LOVED this hilarious rom com. What an absolute treat!

Zara has written the book in such a witty, fast paced way including many laugh out loud moments.
It does have some lovely, touching moments too.

This incredible read is full of drama, comedy romance; it includes an engagement, a hen-do, a wedding full of scorned exes, long lost loves, secrets and scandals, with a healthy dose of backstabbing, lies and deception. Sounds grim but it is hilarious, and the mix ups and misinterpretations are what makes this the perfect rom-com.

Loved the characters - a real mish mash of types of person, a real eclectic bunch, you can't help but feel that there is going to be a LOT of trouble throughout.

Perfect summer read, fun and frolics galore.

Bridesmaids is a humorous novel filled with interesting characters, and there are a lot of "laugh out loud" scenes throughout, helping to keep up the lighthearted pace. I would recommend.

There’s a genre specific to British fiction which the British call chick-lit and everyone else doesn’t quite know how to define, but usually they call it romantic comedy. For me it’s typified by the TV show Coupling (the British version, not the appalling American remake) and authors like Helen Fielding (Bridget Jones’ Diary) and Sophie Kinsella (the Shopaholic series). Think Four Weddings And A Funeral, think Notting Hill, and you’ll be in the perfect mood to sit down and thoroughly enjoy Bridesmaids.

Jane is a thirty-ish wannabe photographer trapped working for a diva social media maven and still in recovery from a nightmarish breakup where her fiance dumped her at her hen party (bachelorette party, for Americans). Invited to be the bridesmaid at her best friend Rachel’s wedding, there’s no way to say no - and definitely no way to express her doubts about Michael, the groom-to-be, not without sounding as though she’s just bitter about her own failure to walk up the aisle. Roped in by Rachel to act as a buffer between the three other warring bridesmaids, Jane ends up digging herself into deeper and deeper holes.

There’s a charming slow-burn friends to lovers romance in this between Jane and her flatmate, Freddie. Freddie’s such a sweetheart, I was hoping all along for him and Jane to get their wires uncrossed, but I did feel for poor Jane, who constantly seemed to be dealing with about ten sticky situations at once. She really didn’t have the time and space to process her own emotions, something which Freddie to his credit did try to give her, though I felt like strangling him when he threw the suggestion of moving to Scotland at her unexpectedly.

In the end, of course, all the secrets come out and things turn out just as they should… though not without a few disastrous mishaps causing much hilarity along the way!

I loved reading this so much. I laughed more times than I can count, and I closed it feeling that joyous sense of completion and satisfaction which all too few authors can make you feel at the end of a story. If you’re in the mood for a great British romantic comedy, you should absolutely check out Bridesmaids - and maybe, like I did, imagine a young Hugh Grant as Freddie. He’d have been absolutely perfect!

5 stars for one of the funniest books I’ve read in ages!

This is a perfect example of a book clearly just not being for me, given that I seem to be very much in the minority in giving a negative review.

Normally, I love a good rom-com. It's basically my favourite genre, and its rare for me not to fall even a little bit in love with every one I read.

But Bridesmaids just felt forced. The humour was often flat, the characters were all either very whiny or very two dimensional, and the whole 'oh no, if only we told each other the truth we'd have avoided such a silly mishap' thing is so overdone that it's impossible to be amusing anymore. Especially when the secrets were easy to guess from a mile away (or at least from a few chapters in).

This is my first one by this author, and while I may have just got unlucky, I think I'll give her others a miss.

This was a great read by a new author to me. I read this in two days while on vacation and it was easy to follow and fun to read. The characters were great and I cant wait to read my by her in the future!

Sooooo not that I hated it I didn't but I also didn't love it and didn't find it as funny as other readers did, but we all have an opinion so pick up and decide for yourself. This clan had a whole lot of drama and luckily for Jane she finally got a clue and realized that her flatmate Freddie was the one for her and he has been waiting for her all along (of course sleeping with others) but he knew that she needed time and she finally realized that her ex the one who had dumped her at her hen party was not worthy of her..I never got how friends could sleep with their other friends boyfriends, exes and still remain friends..but to each its own.
