(4.5) First page and I was yelling Don't go in, Don't go in. The last page and I was sighing.
Melinda Leigh is an auto buy, an auto beg for arcs auto everything. If you haven't read the first 4, you won't be lost, but I think you lose out on the actual relationship of the characters, we (readers from book 1) have watched them grow, deal with life day to day as well as murder and intrigue. Something I highly recommend you do. We know or at least think we do for now, Morgan and Dane will be ok at the end so we root for them, but don't panic over them. With that being said I can just see Morgan or Dane yelling in Melinda's ear, kill one of us. Don't listen to them Melinda.
I enjoyed the twists and turns, the red herrings as we think we know who is guilty and then find out , nah, not so much. This is entertainment at its finest. Some feel there was little romance. If I was searching for sex, then yes this would be light. But it actually feels like reality built around suspense, mystery an thriller. I was not disappointed. I was thrilled that Sharpe and Olivia, an extra bonus to the story. Thank you Montlake, NetGalley for this arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.

I'm a huge fan of Melinda Leigh and have read and loved all of her books to date so I've been waiting impatiently for Secrets Never Die and let me tell you it was well worth the wait!!! I have come to absolutely love the Morgan Dane and Lance Kruger series. In their latest adventure they receive a call during the night from a friend called Tina who arrived home from work to find her husband Paul a retired sheriff''s deputy shot dead and her troubled teenage son Evan missing. The police think Evan is guilty and has gone on the run but Lance doesn't agree and so the hunt begins. This book had me hooked the whole way through can't wait for the next one!!!!

Many thanks to Melinda Leigh Montlake and NetGalley for the arc of Secrets Never Die my review is honest and unbiased in any way.

I am a Morgan Dane fan! Dynamic characters, believable and suspenseful storyline that keeps your interested all the way to the end, as usual! The returning reporter character is a great opening for future stories. Again, the relationship between Lance and Morgan and their family is heartfelt in this novel. I can't wait to read the next installment in this series. I hope there are many more to come!

A very enjoyable read! I was very interested in getting my hands on this one after I read the blurb and I am pleased to say that I was not let down.

The story is written very well and the characters are interesting and jump off the page. I would recommend this read!

It's always so much fun to read Melinda Leigh books. At this point, I've gotten pretty good at guessing the ends, but it doesn't mean I don't enjoy the plot any less.

Thank you for the ARC.

I love Melinda. I love her books, I love her writing, I love her characters. She is just so good at what she does.

This is my third book by the author and she does not disappoint. The story telling, the order of events, the characters everything was right on.

I’ll keep reading Melinda’s books.

I love this series and I have to say that Secrets Never Die was one of my favorites. I love Lance and Morgan and there relationship. I love how well they work together.

Lance and Morgan try to find and help a teenage boy that the sheriff thinks is guilty of murder. Did he kill his step father? Lance, Morgan and Sharp knows the boy is innocent and is determined to find him before the cops. The book was non stop action and couldn't put the book down. Melinda Leigh has done a great job. When I start reading these books, I can't put it down. Look forward to more of this series.

I Received an Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

A retired Sheriffs Deputy is executed in his home. His teenage stepson, Evan, becomes the primary suspect. It’s a race against time to find Evan and reveal the real killer before it’s too late.

This is the 5th book in the Morgan Dane series. All the books are good and I recommend them all, but this one could be read as a stand alone. I like the characters and the plot is fast paced. There are a lot of twists in the story that will keep you guessing. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book.

Got this as an ARC from Netgalley. I like all the books that I have read by Melinda Leigh, and this one didn't disappoint. I like the characters and the flow of the story. I have never yet managed to work out what is going on in any of her books, they keep you guessing until the end. There is always a little twist that you didn't see coming. My only complaint is that I didn't have time to read Morgan Dane 4 before reading this one.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Secrets Never Die is the 5th book in Leigh's Morgan Dane series. Leigh's central characters Morgan, Lance, Sharp, and their family and friends are like family you look forward to reconnecting with. In this book, we also meet Ethan, a player on Lance's hockey team, his mother Tina and girlfriend Rylee. Tina's husband and Ethan's stepfather, Paul, is murdered in their home on a night that Ethan misses his curfew. Ethan becomes the prime suspect, and Morgan and Lance must work against time and the elements to prove his innocence and discover who the real killer is. Leigh's ability to develop likable and genuine characters drives the reader into the book. Lance's love for Morgan's daughters and his developing role as step-dad, juggling sick children, family and work challenges make the reader root for his success. We also see more of Lincoln Sharp in this story and he becomes more of a real character than just the healthy food and smoothie pusher of the last couple of books. I really enjoy this series and each subsequent book seems better than the previous ones. A great read!

This is the first Melinda Leigh I have read and really enjoyed it. I know it is part of a series but didn't feel I missed any information about character development by not having read the previous. I can't wait for the next book to read about the WEDDING!!!

When I’m in the mood for a book that I know will definitely be a good read, I turn to something by Melinda Leigh. I know I’ll get an entertaining story with a great cast of characters. And that’s what I got with book 5 in the Morgan Dane series ‘Secrets Never Die’.
Wow, book 5. I can’t believe it. It doesn’t feel like book 5.
In this instalment Morgan Dane and her fiancé Lance Kruger are hired to help a young man accused of killing his stepfather, a police sheriff. The young man is a hockey player in the team that Lance coaches and he and Morgan are desperate to help. If only they could find the missing teen. And things go from bad to worse when a second police sheriff disappears.
I liked ‘Secrets Never Die’. My only complaint is the romance aspect of the story. As I’ve said in my previous reviews of the Morgan Dane series, the romance between Morgan and Lance has almost always been a second thought in the series. The story leans more heavily towards suspense rather than romantic suspense. But that’s ok. The story was good. I just wish for a bit more focus on the romance between Morgan and Lance. That’s my only issue with the books. Otherwise another good addition to the series.

I received an arc from net gallery and I am voluntarily reviewing this book.

I am a big fan of Morgan, Lance and Sharp and this book definitely held my attention. After a retired cop gets murdered, his stepson Evan was sought after by the police. Morgan and Lance stepped in as always to prove Evan was not a murderer. I enjoyed the interaction between Sharp and Olivia and I'm looking forward to hearing more about those two. This book was well written and very exciting from beginning to end and I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

3.5
This is the only book of this series that I have read. It does work as a stand alone but I think having more of the character’s backgrounds would have had me appreciate this more.

Good plot and interesting main characters. The relationships are a big focus of the story. I thought I had the mystery figured out but I was wrong. The story concludes with everyone in a good place.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Montlake Romance for a copy in exchange for a review.

I discovered Melinda Leigh and this series two weeks ago - after reading the first book I was hooked and immediately read the next four books back-to-back. This book did not disappoint!

There is something about this author's writing style that I really like. Her books, including this one, are a nice mix of crime, suspense, and romance. I found the characters to be extremely likeable. Morgan Dane (attorney, widow, and mom of three) is the kind of woman you'd want as a friend. She's loyal, ethical, and while she's feminine and attractive she is NOT a pushover (she knows how to defend herself and use a gun). Lance Kruger (ex-cop, current private investigator, and Morgan's new love) is a tough, badass guy, with a kind heart (he's quickly fallen in love with Morgan's three young daughters). I enjoyed the supporting characters as well and, even though they play a lesser role, they each contribute a valuable piece to the story - for example, Lance's mom struggles with mental illness and rarely leaves her home, however, she's a whiz with computers and does a lot of their background research for them.

As with all of the other books in this series, my attention was grabbed on the very first page and held throughout the entire story. I will definitely be seeking out additional books by this author after my experience with this series. And now to wait patiently until book 6 of this series is available!!

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4
Lance and Morgan get involved in a new case that could cost them everything they have worked for.

Another wonderful story from Ms. Leigh! I really enjoyed this book. I read Secrets Never Die in one sitting. As always I think I have the who done it figured out and Ms. Leigh proves me wrong. I liked seeing Lance and Morgan’s relationship grow. They are such a great team. Also we got to see more with Sharp and Olivia! I can’t wait to see what is next for those two.

I can’t wait to see what happens next in the Morgan Dane series.
