This is one book that I wasn't quite sure about since of the Goats of Anarchy. With such a name versus the cuteness of the title artwork it seems to be a bit out of place.

As for the copy that I had a chance to read I wasn't really happy with it. I didn't have problems with downloading it but I did have problems with access to the book. The pages took forever to download and basically froze my phone into not responding in the app. Most of the time I had to leave the digital book just to return to it. And since of the fight I basically left the book at its ending without getting a chance to read about the real Angel or see the photographs that have been suggested in the back.

The illustrations also weren't a go for me. Although they were cute I would have preferred to have seen some actual photographs of the goat in her struggle to overcome her difficulties and to see some of her barnyard friends.

The writing was simple to read and understand although a bit much. For growing readers it will be a good challenge that won't overdo it for them.

All it is a cute story with a good message. For those, though, who love goats and/or like rescue work it may be a nice little story for them to at least enjoy.

I love this series. It is wonderful for children to learn about animal rescue when it comes to farm animals. Many children today have never been to a farm but have a pretty stereotypical view of the perfect farm with cows, horses, pigs etc. In the Goats of Anarchy, there are aspects of the typical farm, but with a real twist, rescued animals who all have some sort of disability. In this addition to the Goats of Anarchy series, we meet Angel, a small goat who was found abandoned in the snow. When Leanne Lauricella rescued him, she realized he couldn’t walk because he only had two legs. How did she help, she got Angel her own pink cart and when Angel learned how to use it, she flourished. This is a great story about friendship, responsibility and respect to animals, as well as the rewards and successes of animal rescue. The story is simplified for children. I love the illustrations in this book. They are cute and kids will love looking at them. At the end of the book are actual photos of Angel in her cart, as well as other animals that live with her. There is also a short explanation of the farm and Angel’s growth. If you love animals, want to support animal rescue or introduce children to the plight of animals with problems, then read this book. A great addition to any library, family, public or school. I will watch for more books from GOA.

This sweet true story stars a loveable little goat named Angel. She is different from her peers because she cannot walk. She is rescued on a cold winter's night from a field where she is left lying alone in the snow. A woman finds her, gathers her up and brings her inside to warm and literally defrost her. Poor baby! The woman notices that the little goat is hurt and has only two front legs. She knows in her heart that this baby goat will need extra love and care to survive.

Luckily the young woman knows of a goat sanctuary where she will be will taken very good care of. The baby goat's "new mother" drives a long distance to retrieve her new charge. It is love at first sight when she lays eyes on the helpless, injured, and handicapped baby goat. She names her Angel the name of the very kind woman that saved the baby goat's life.

The fortunate little goat finds a loving and accepting home where her caregivers give her plenty of love and attention. Piny, a sweet and friendly pig, befriends the little goat and they become inseparable. Angel is fitted with a cute pink cart that helps her learn not only to walk but to run and play with the other animals. She is spunky, active and happy now that she has found her forever home.

The story is heartwarming and the illustrations are expressive and filled with happy faces. The author has added a segment at the end of the book where she documents photos and antics of the real Angel as she interacts with the humans and animals around her. Kids will love seeing the real Angel who inspired this story.

The book shares themes of acceptance, confidence, and compassion. I highly recommend this book and the whole series.

5☆ A Heart warming Story about being different and fitting in!

Goats of Anarchy: Angel and Her Wonderful Wheels is a heart warming Children's Story, with a wonderful message of kindness, hope, acceptance, friendship and learning that being different is ok.

Angel is a gorgeous little goat who isn't like the other goats as she can't walk. She only has two legs.
So when her adoptive human mother buys her some pink wheels she is soon whizzing about just as well as the other goats. With some help from Piney the pig.

Angel can see the goats outside and dreams of running about with them.

It's only when She meets Miles another baby goat who has Blue Braces to help him get around, that she becomes more strong and confident and she ventures outside with Piney and Miles.

Angel is nervous as she is aware she is different.
But just how will the other goats treat Angel?
Will they embrace her disability or shun her?

I adored this gorgeous book.
I have a disability and walk with a walking stick. It took me a while to adjust.
I applaud Leanne Lauricella as she has introduced disability and is introducing children to the notion that we are all different, even animals and that's it's ok.
It's ok to ask questions and be curious.

There is also so many extended activities you can do after reading this book, such as talking about disabilities, talking about animals, learning about goats, visiting rescue centres, doing a good deed to help others, etc..

You can read this as a bedtime story, alone reading, group reading.
I would absolutely love to see this in schools as I believe it would play a valuable contribution to opening up the lines of communication about being different, it can also help children to understand bullying.

Leanne Lauricella has written a heart warming story filled with beautiful illustrations and loveable characters that children will relate too.
This is definitely a book I would highly recommend.

My daughter and I read Polly and her Duck Costume by Leanne Lauricella before. We recognised the book right away to be from the same farm.
If Polly's story was heart-waming, Angel's story is inspiring. Despite having lost two legs due to a frostbite, Angel receives love, care and cart at the farm, so Angel can go out and about the farm happily.
The illustrations are amazing with block colors.

The Goats of Anarchy are a family favorite. What fun the latest book Angel and Her Wonderful Wheels by Leanne Lauricella was for me and two grandchildren. The second grader read the book aloud, so it is at a developing reader level. However, from preschooler to adult, this Angel’s story can be enjoyed by all.

Our thoughts on the book - One of the best parts is seeing the photographs of the real Angel at the end. I always look forward to that in all the Goats of Anarchy books. The illustrations are simply but expressive but it is the real photos that I love. The text tells the story of Angel simply with care but not pity. Praying for wisdom concerning Angel’s needs stood out to my granddaughter. Divine wisdom is not just needed for people but goats too. My grandson loved seeing Piney again, one of his favorite animals there at the rescue farm. Also the way that the animals welcome the new members and all become friends stood out to him. People could learn a lot from these creatures! Wonderful stories of a wonderful place that teach us all.

Angel is a baby goat that has lost her back legs due to frostbite. She is brought to live at the Goats of Anarchy farm and this book describes her life there at the farm - how she learns to walk using a special cart, her interactions with the other animals, and how she learns to be confident . It’s a very sweet and engaging story. The illustrations are warm & beautiful. I love the expressions on the animals’ faces.

There’s a real treat after the end of the story. Leanne has included real pictures of Angel & her cart & her friends at the farm. I have followed GOA on social media for several years now and am very impressed with all the tireless work Leanne does for these special animals. I love that she’s sharing her stories in children’s books now too. I think that children and adults alike will enjoy these stories very much.

My boyfriend loves goats and Goats of Anarchy (I got him a calendar of theirs as a present one Christmas), so of course I was going to give this ARC a whirl. I read it sitting next to him and had to bother him every few pages or so to show him a cute illustration or read him something that made me go "Awwwwwww!" Exactly what I wanted in a Goats of Anarchy kid's book.

I received a digital ARC from the publisher via Netgalley.

Another impossibly sweet children's book in the Goats of Anarchy series!

Leanne Lauricella owns the farm Goats of Anarchy in New Jersey that cares for rescue animals, the majority of which are goats. She has built a loyal following on Instagram where people get a daily dose of cuteness and inspiration when learning of the obstacles and disabilities these animals have overcome against all odds.

Lauricella uses the inspiring stories of her rescue goats for her children's books. This book features Angel, a goat born in the snow who lost her back legs and tips of her ears to frostbite. A woman found the goat and contacted Leanne, who brought the goat (named for the woman who saved her) back to her farm, keeping her indoors while she recovers.
Leanne wanted to find a way to teach Angel to move around on her own and soon found the solution in a magazine that featured a dog using a cart to walk.

Angel and Her Wonderful Wheels tells the sweet story of how Angel learned to use her cart by having the patience to practice and never give up no matter how hard it was. When Angel meets the other goats living outdoors, she realizes she is different because she's the only one with a cart and that makes her embarrassed. The determination Angel had in learning to walk with her cart also helps her overcome her fear of not being accepted and soon she is prancing around with all of the goats!
When more injured goats come to the farm in need of carts, Angel teaches them how to use their carts with ease and that they do not have to fear being different.

A real life story with a fantastic message for children of all ages! The illustrations are bright and cozy and will capture the attention of emerging readers.

Cute book with a good message. I've been following Goats of Anarchy via social media for awhile now and was curious about the children's books. I wasn't disappointed. This book helps teach kids that differences aren't bad and that being yourself is the best you can do.

Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Walter Foster, Jr. and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this sweet book in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve followed the GOA Instagram account forever and was so excited to see this book. Absolutely the most heartwarming story about a goat named Angel and her chance to walk with wheels. An amazing read for kids of all ages. Adorable illustrations with pictures of actual goats on the GOA farm at the end. Released in October, would make the perfect addition to any child’s Christmas gift or Easter basket ❤️
