This is a third book in a series though it can be read as a stand alone.

We get cute characters, a good wholesome story. And a happily ever after.

I wish I had read the first two book in the series but I will be getting those soon.

We watch as Gloria and Seth plan a wedding for their friends. And Gloria tends to speak before she thinks. Which is so funny at times. We wonder if the wedding will go off as planned it will things go awry.

Another triumph! The Whispers Wood series is always guaranteed to provide warmth and humour and The Wedding Planner does that successfully.
With Gloria at the forefront of this one I must admit to having doubts, however, I should have trusted the author completely. Those niggling doubts at spotlighting a character I previously found annoying vanished pretty quick and I found myself warming to the snarky, outspoken women. I ended up loving her for her flaws and thought she was a refreshing change and a brave move from the author. Well done, Eve Devon!

This was a cute book with some interesting characters and fun plot twists. I didn't realise this was the third book in a series (The Whisper Woods series) and if I'd known I wouldn't have requested this ARC from Netgalley.

As a standalone book it was a struggle to get through and I kept feeling like I was left out of some insider jokes because I hadn't read the first two books. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had read them and I may come and change my rating if I decide to read the first two books.

I found it really difficult to connect to both Gloria and Seth and even though I'm happy that things ended well for them, I wasn't too invested in their characters and their relationship.

I'm not totally sure I want to read the first two books, but my recommendation would be to start there rather than going straight into this book.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. this has in no way influenced my opinions in this review.

The Wedding Planner is about Emma and Jake’s wedding and the tremendous help they need planning it. They want a English country, Jane Austen-themed wedding, so they turn to Jake’s brother Seth and Emma’s friend Gloria. Sparks and banter fly immediately between Seth and Gloria as they try to stay focused on the wedding planning for their friends. Both are recently divorced and feeling down on love, and the upcoming wedding has many echoes of Gloria’s previous wedding, which is painful for her. The wedding couple has the help of Seth and Gloria, but also many friends that they work with.
I had a hard time getting into this book. Gloria is snarky and makes frequent sexual innuedos, but seems disinterested in love or relationships. There is supposed to be romantic feeling and sexual tension between Seth and Gloria, but I didn’t feel it. It seemed more that Gloria made sexual comments to shock Seth, not out of a feeling of passion. There are many friends and places of employment that got a little hard to keep track of. I didn’t realize until I finished the book that this was the third in a series. It can be a standalone, but I think it makes it a little hard to get a read on the characters. I didn’t understand the supposed romantic ending at all, Gloria was throwing up for two days, but Seth was still wooing her—sorry, vomit is not romantic. I just didn’t feel a connection to this story.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

It's hard for me to give a fair rating for this book. On one hand, I had a hard time getting into the book - the characters were difficult for me to get to know and understand. I think I started and finished a couple of other books in the time it took me read this book. It just didn't grab me. On the other hand, this is the third book in the series, something I didn't realize until the end where in the author's end note, it is mentioned that part of the joy of this book was seeing one of the protagonists grow across the books to what she becomes in this book. I didn't notice any typos or editing issues, and I did like the setting - town, the supporting characters, how everyone knows everyone, etc - so I think if I read the prior two books first, I would have really enjoyed this one. My recommendation: read the two prior books in the series before reading this one.

One of the most riotous reads ever, hilariously entertaining with Gloria and Seth. They had ever tongue in Whisper Wood talking and speculating about the love bug in the atmosphere. Poor Gloria got blindsided by cupid even though he wasn’t on her bucket list.

A nice feel-good romance that will make you giggle. A really lovely read and one I would definitely read again.

A charming and amusing story. Fantastic characters - the will they wont they with Seth and Gloria was brilliantly played out. The actual wedding seemed incidental to their story.

I understand it's part of a series but I felt it was absolutely fine to read as a stand alone. My only tiny criticism is that it felt a tad too long.

This book is so predictable and it’s not difficult to guess what will happen next.
An easy pleasant read but there is no surprise in the storyline

Not having read the first two in this series, Devon has thoughtfully provided a synopsis of the main characters we encounter – and one that will prove to be handy as the story is told from multiple perspectives all giving input into the events as they progress. Most fortunately for me, Gloria is the highlight of this story, the one who achieves the most and has some of the best-ever gaffes and slips of the tongue on the way to remaking herself as a ‘nicer person’. Always on the defense, and utterly obsessed with her own personal insecurities, Gloria has spent the last while trying to make herself into the person people flock to, ok – not really – she’d be happy with them not scattering away from her when she approached. With her own marriage dissolving in spectacular fashion, she’s convinced that being the focus of the gossip mill in town is nothing difficult, when compared to her own ‘tell it like it is, no holds barred’ honest eruptions from her mouth. And while she’s still saying things that are often true, but usually wholly inappropriate, she’s started to soften her all too prickly edges and actually finding herself wanting friendships. What Gloria does bring to the table, if not her ability to keep her mouth shut and be appropriate in all situations is her honest desire to ‘be’ friends and better – both for herself and as an example to her ten year old daughter.

But when Emma and Jake decide that Gloria and Seth (Jake’s brother) are the two to plan their wedding (Jane Austen theme in mind, thank you) these two divorced, cynical and adorable people, who few expect much from, dig into the task and get it done. Along with the wedding, Seth is also trying to find a way for his brother to increase income on their family estate, and he can’t help finding amusement and intrigue in the time he’s spending with Gloria. With a wedding date set, unsurprisingly by Gloria as a means of deflecting interest and questions at a town meeting, there’s just ten weeks to go and everything to arrange. From a day at a wedding fair at the site of Gloria’s failed marriage, to a drunken girl’s night out where she shares too much (think anything) with her new friends, to being involved in several conversations with Gertrude the cow – who’d prefer to hang out with people and be in the know – the story alternates from Gloria’s struggles with making changes and coming to trust in herself and those around her to actual moments with other townspeople, some lovely scenes with her parenting, the laugh out loud moments are frequent and real.

Devon has created a lovely and quirky little village here in Whispers Wood, with townsfolk who are all ‘involved’: from knowing everything, to dispensing advice, to actually caring for their neighbors and friends. With town meetings that are adorably pedantic and thorough through the wedding where everyone in town is invited, and all of the conversations and discussions about each person – you can’t help but feel the community in every moment, even as it feels overwhelming there is a sense of comfort and camaraderie here. As I stated, I hadn’t read the first two books, but with this one being such a breath of fresh air I can’t wait to dive into them all. And you can’t help but love a series that brings the possibility and potential to such heights, and gives everyone a chance, or a second chance, at a happy ending. No matter how cynical they may claim to be.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Gloria is recovering from her divorce to her husband Bob. The divorce soured her on ever loving or living “happily ever after”. Enter the handsome Seth who would like to persuade Gloria to change her mind. Gloria unwilling is drafted to be a bridesmaid for her friend Emma’s upcoming wedding. In her telling like it is style Gloria accidentally chooses a wedding date for Emma and Jake, The anniversary of her marriage gone bad. In her blunt tell it like it is all kinds of small town village gossip runs across town. Gloria and Seth are drafted to plan the dream wedding. With the thought of putting forward a good example for her young daughter Persephone, Gloria is determined to carry on with her life. Will the wedding go off without a hitch? Will Gloria ever find happiness again?

When wrongfooted Gloria Pavey takes over the role of wedding planner for best friend Emma she gets way more than she bargained for. A sweet, feel good romance with flashes of humour along the way. I did feel that characters were a little stilted, however, and, unfortunately, not quite credible enough to root for along the way. Worth noting that this is book three in a series (Whispers Wood) - although this can be read as a standalone, there are timeline advantages in reading from book one.

One of the most sweatest book that I have read so far this year. The whole book revolves around a wedding . Actually the story revolves around gloria who was tasked to plan the wedding of her best friend Emma. And she has a bit problem with it cause she had to plan it along side seth who is the best man. You see Gloria is on a man ban and being a single mum with hopeless relationships under her belt makes her extremely wearisome of seth. But the romance and chemistry bet ween them was awesome. And the wedding scenes makes this extra lovely to read. This is a wonderful book and has been quite a hit for me.

In this book we meet Gloria who is trying to move on after her husband, Bob left for a male model!

With a ten year old daughter Persephone to look after and a best friends wedding to plan Gloria is running around after others not seeing for a start what's right under her nose love wise...

Seth is a divorced twenty year old who's the brother of the groom that Gloria's planning the wedding of to his future wife Emma.

Only as Gloria is stung by her love previously she is a bitter character to begin the novel and it did take some time for me to warm to her however as there were some funny moments from being a lake, a cow called Gertrude whom pops up now and again causing hilarious consequences and a life drawing class all involving Seth that results in things getting heated over the course of the novel. Overall I did enjoy the last half of the book but you need to persevere the first half to reap the reward of the funny parts.

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

Gloria and Seth are supposed to plan the wedding of their best friend and Seth's brother. There wouldn't be anything surprising or strange to this, except for the fact that they both sworn off love, do not believe in Happy Ever After and don't want to admit that they are attracted to each other. Of course planning a wedding is never an easy task, and what with the above mentioned distinctive features, we are in for a quirky, cheeky and humorous story.

I admit, I had problems to get into the book. Gloria was a tough one to read, and I had a feeling that the author tries too hard with the jokes and humour. I also felt a bit left out - this is a third book in the series and I haven't read the two previous novels, which is of course my fault, but I simply felt I'm not on the joke, that I'm not a part of the gang, of the story. However, I was quickly done with this feeling and after the initial reservations I fell in love with the book and the characters.

Gloria was such a breath of fresh air, really, with her attitude, sharp humour and being sarcastic. I didn't have a feeling that she was hiding behind a facade, to be honest, to protect herself or something like this, for me this was the way she was, period. She had tougher and softer side to herself, that's for sure, but she was bold, direct and hilariously funny in her honesty. Not always, but more than often, that is. I liked how she stood up for her family and friends, you don't often get something like this. She was feisty and loyal and an adorable mother. And she was my favourite kind of character, one that was growing throughout the story, changing, maturing, and there was depth to her as well.

Whispers Wood is a great place, a village with a great sense of community and people knowing much more about you than you know yourself, but all in such a lovely, friendly way, and the way they interfered in each other's lives was funny and not too overwhelming.

It was a humorous, romantic and uplifting read. The parts where Gloria and Seth were planning the wedding were brilliant, especially as Gloria often couldn't keep her mouth closed around the priest, calling him the wrong name. The banter and interaction between Gloria and Seth were probably the best parts of the book - so light - hearted, quick, it was like watching a tennis match. As I have already mentioned, the book can be read as a stand - alone but I had a feeling that I'm missing out on too much and I really regret not reading the two previous books before - to know more about Whispers Wood but also because I really liked the writing style, the humour, the great group of characters. Recommended!

So normally when i read a book i like to be completely sucked into it by the time i am a couple of chapters in and for some reason i just wasn’t feeling this at first but by the time i was about half way through i started to really love it. I love Gloria’s attitude and how only Seth could see the true her, the person she was inside, she seemed to hide behind a tough exterior in order to protect herself but i felt like she was doing herself more harm by doing this, something i am guilty of too. As the story got further on and she was fully invested in planning the wedding it was lovely to see the softer Gloria come to the surface. I had a few laugh-out-loud moments at Gloria’s reactions and how she always stood up for her friends and family, it just made me smile because i just saw a genuinely nice person scared of getting close to anyone for fear of being hurt. *Spoiler Alert* i am so glad Seth persevered and broke down her defensive wall, it was so heartwarming and emotional to read and see how far she had come & the wedding sounded absolutely beautiful. I was kind of gutted when it ended because i wanted to know what happened next for Gloria and if she got her ‘Happy ever after’.

The Wedding Planner is a fun bit of romantic chick-lit and an easy read. I am led to understand that this is book 3 in a series and although it does work on its own it would definitely help to read the other first. It sometimes refers to things that you feel yoi have missed out on.
The main characters of Gloria and Seth have been tasked with organising a wedding in a short amount of time, it does have some amusing bits and you do find yourself routing for them along the way. I won't say much more for risk of spoiling it other than if you like a quick fun read then this is for you.

This one started off slow and wordy, had to power through to finish .Though it turned out to be an okay read, it didn't hold my undivided attention and middling enthusiasm until around the 70% of the book. There were some funny moments and hints of an age difference between the protagonists but that was never made clear or I just missed it .Found it hard to engage with the main characters as I didn't feel there was any real chemistry. My first read from this author and was drawn in not only by the blurb, but the illustration which proved a bit disappointing as I was expecting a flirty read.

Before I start, I've only managed to read 14%. After that, I gave up. There seems to much to be going on that just doesn't work in this book.

The main character seems to be not the main since the narrative changes every chapter.
A man, who is presumably straight, describes his brother (!) as having brooding Poldark looks
There are so many descriptions that don't matter.
Appereantly, everything is so perfect and everybody goes along so well that even "the bitch" is welcomed with open arms.

These problems make me not care about the persons - and that is the reason I stopped reading it.
