This was a real, easy to read, escapist book which you could lose yourself in very quickly.
It’s all about work relationships and friendships which take on a nasty turn during the course of the novel. When the narrator, Holly, gets a promotion within the script department of a soap opera, her work colleagues, although seeming happy for her at first, suddenly turn against her.
Lots of strange things happen to Holly whilst she is in her probationary period in her new position and she desperately tries to find out who has a grudge against her and is trying to get her sacked.
Holly finds some unexpected allies at work and with the help of her old friend Dee and her husband Gavin she gradually begins to unravel the lies upon which her and her best work friend, Roz’s relationship was based. But is she the one who is waging a vendetta against Holly or is it someone else?
This is a great read that is lots of fun and you are rooting for Holly right from the beginning as she is a genuinely nice person who has unfortunately fallen for Roz’s charms in the past.
This is a light and enjoyable book that kept me interested throughout as I was keen to see how the office situation could be resolved satisfactorily.
The characters were all well drawn and none were as black and white as they first seemed; they all had hidden depths with their own problems.

This book is a fantastic read with very realistic characters and a protagonist you can relate to really easily. Combining friendships and office politics and a complicated home life works beautifully to keep the pages turning and the twists coming.

I have read Jane Fallon previously and was delighted to be given a copy of this book to read via Netgalley. A very addictive read you will not want to put it down.

I've not had book withdrawal for a long time , I do now !!!! Totally hooked from beginning to end . A very engaging read . I did not want to put it down nor did I want it to end .

Jane Fallon certainly knows how to tell a story, and to present the reader with well rounded characters rather than stereotypes, and all managed with dry humour! I was in the office with Holly wondering what would happen next and who to trust and enjoyed the satisfying tying up of loose ends in the final chapters.
I haven't read any of this author's books before which is great because it means I have some treats in store!

A great book with characters you like. A million questions as to what went wrong and who is being so horrible make you second guess a lot of different people!

Fabulous. A really twisty plot that will have you questioning everything you know about everyone around you, especially in the workplace. I really enjoyed this, highly entertaining and really quite unnerving.

My final read of 2018 and the perfect book to finish the year. I've read other books by this author so was looking forward to reading this book and was not disappointed.

Tell Me A Secret is Jane Fallons newest addition and very different from her last book, it still has the same style of writing and the ability to draw you in to caring about characters very quickly but last times was very much centred on relationships and revenge this one is all about friendships and do we really know them?
This is my last book of 2018 and chose this one as I knew it was going to be good as Jane, as far as I’m aware has never wrote a bad one. The book is centred around Holly and Roz, they are work mates and have been for a few years both sharing the same sense of humour but live very different lives outside of work. Holly is a single mum even though her daughters grown up and living with her own boyfriend but she has to be careful with her finances whereas Roz lives the high life thanks to her high flying husband as she seems to do nothing but go to glamorous celebrity parties. Holly gets promoted at work and the dynamics of the relationship change and this is an interesting ride.
I really enjoyed this book and liked the majority of the characters and also found them to be believable which always helps to relate to them as you invest in them more with each page you turn.

This was my first time reading anything by Jane Fallon and I thoroughly enjoyed it - so much so that I will be seeking out more of her books.
Tell Me a Secret deals with friendships, trust, jealousy and revenge but its gentle narrative makes it a light read - perfect for a holiday.
The plot was predictable and I knew what was coming around every corner, but Fallon’s way of writing made me keep turning the page as I became more and more immersed in Holly’s dilemma, willing her to come out on top.
All in all this is a worthwhile read with a satisfying ending and I look forward to exploring more offerings from the author.

Another addictive read by Jane Fallon, who is fast becoming one of my favourite authors, with a twisting storyline about who you can trust, and who you can't.

Holly works as a script editor on a popular TV soap in an office with other editors, one of whom is a fellow editor and her close work friend, Roz. I did find there was a little settling into the story at the beginning as I didn't like Roz and both Holly and Roz seemed a little bullying at first, taking jabs at other members of staff in a nasty way. But as the story evolved, and Holly got a promotion that other members of staff also wanted, things started taking a more serious bitchy turn, with odd things happening and Holly being in the firing line - but who was doing it?

It was pretty obvious who is was, but Holly initially still thought it was someone else. But as the story went along, with all the twists and turns and deceit, it became a lot clearer who it was, but how was she going to catch her out, and hang onto her job?

I really loved Holly's proper friends, Dee & Gav, who were always there for her, especially Dee, who really helped her get through everything and enjoyed the sculking around on occasions to get evidence! It was hard to know who to trust and who to be wary of but at least Holly knew she could trust Dee.

I found this a really enjoyable story that I couldn't put down once I got about halfway through and the story snowballed towards the outcome. It just goes to show don't trust what everyone tells you, especially in a work environment if you don't really know everything about them. Some people turned out better than expected, and some definitely didn't! Lovely ending too. Definitely a page-turner that I would highly recommend.

I read this in 24 hours, I couldn't put it down! It starts off a bit slow but then it kicks in and you are totally gripped. I found myself questioning everyone's motives and who Holly could really trust, I think I had my doubts about all the characters at some point! A great read 5*

This book is pleasant, if far fetched. The characters are likeable but did not seem plausible and didn't really come alive - it might be my naivety of this type of life but I thought it was a bit slow going although I finished it and enjoyed it to a certain extent.

I’d heard a lot about Jane Fallon’s books so was thrilled to get a chance to read one.

At first, I was slightly disappointed and found it difficult to get into - however, when the story kicked in I was gripped.

Not a storyline I would have gone for on the shelves, but I’d definitely reread. And now I’m off to buy her other books!

I have had fun reading this book during the Christmas holidays. It’s a fast paced and light read, with well-drawn characters. The characters work on a TV series, Churchill Road. I enjoyed the office setting and could easily see how two best friends could become enemies when one is promoted above the other. Holly is a likeable and sympathetic character while loud, over-confident Roz is all too believable. There are some good twists and turns and this was an ideal holiday read.

a small office enviroment that can lead to a hotbed of trouble, with only a handful of people, there are bound to be allegiances formed and a scapegoat made and this office is no exception

rox holds court, she is a loud bolshy character that has everyone hanging on her every word, but is she a friend or foe...

hollys new promotion means she is now everyones boss so allegiences change, will they accept that holly now has to be professional in dealing with them and their workloads, after all being a line manager has its perks and also overall say in all matters...

and what about the others that went for that job...will there be any resentments...

a fasinating read into what life is like in an office enviroment and the pitfalls of having friends in the workplace...i am still trying to work out with character resembles me...

I have only just started reading Jane Fallon books in the last few months and can't believe I have been missing out for so long! The bonus to that is that I can now read the back catalogue in quick succession without having to wait a year or so between publications.

The plot for this book has been different to the others I have read as it usually involves relationships/break up's/cheating but this one concentrated solely on work colleagues who are also friends.

Holly gets a promotion at work with the support of her friend based in the same department, Roz. As Holly takes on the role someone appears to be attempting to sabotage her success and possibly stop Holly in her work tracks before she has barely started as the end of her probation period is looming fast. Holly and Roz are clear who this is.....but is all really as clear cut as it seems?

Holly joins forces with best friend Dee to try and work out, and then catch out, the culprit before Holly is deemed unsuitable for the role and at worst faces a potential firing.

I'm now used to a twist, or 3 or 4!, in Jane's novels but even though I expected a few turns here and there I had not guessed sometimes where the story was heading and the outcome. This certainly added to the enjoyment factor and it was a gripping read in terms of how much I felt that I was rooting for Holly and for certain people within the company to wise up!

I really enjoyed reading about Dee and her husband's attempts to assist Holly in finding out who could be behind the malicious campaign and these parts were thoroughly entertaining - Holly alludes to Dee having a career as a Private Investigator well within reach and I'd have to agree with this!

Overall the characters (well...obviously not all of them...) were likeable and engaged me into wanting to read more and more - I really raced through this excellent book and highly recommend it. It's a bit different from the usual genres of romance, psychological, thriller or mystery and at times is very comical.

Ninety percent of the book is full of the underhanded doings of someone wanting to bring Holly undone. We can guess who it is and who is helping in the first chapter. The last ten percent is more interesting when all has been revealed, but we find out the story of why. The characters are nice, but the plot a little too obvious.

I feel a little bit conflicted about Jane Fallon books. I’ve read 3 now, so clearly she is doing something right to keep me reading. But have you noticed how many of her plots centre on bitchy women tearing each other apart? I think that’s a shame. But having said that, Jane does write well drawn characters. I always seem to care about the main character (in this case Holly). I wanted to see what happened next and I did finish the book. It just always feels a little bit cheap and nasty afterwards rather than warm and fuzzzy like some writers in this genre. I think maybe I need to be in a certain mood to read a Jane Fallon book - the mood for something easy and uncomplicated and I just have to accept that this particular women’s fiction author has more than the average number of bitchy characters in her books. So, all in all, it’s not going to win any literature prizes but you end up with an enjoyable story to pass a wet weekend in January. 3.5 stars from me.
