When Holly lands a great promotion at work, someone seems to be less than happy that she got the job. The book deals with professional rivalry, friendships and jealousy in equal measures. When her future is put in doubt during her probation there seems to be an obvious suspect, but as events unfurl you begin to wonder whether any number of her friends or colleagues could be behind the activities.

She's a single mum with a grown up daughter and after getting an empty nest she is looking for a lodger to help her carry on supporting her daughter. The selection process was quite funny, where she called on her best friend for support.

I loved the twists in the book and couldn't wait to see what might happen next to poor Holly. I love picking up a new Jane Fallon book and this one was a pure delight to read.

Rivalries and jealousy set in a mostly female office. Lots of twists and surprises throughout. Not my kind of story, didn't hold my interest.

Creepy and compelling. I couldn't put it down. The sort of book that makes you check everywhere you go just in case someone is watching your every move. An excellent read

The protagonist in this story is Holly, a woman in her forties, who got promoted in her job on a TV show. I really like that the author utilizes her knowledge of the film industry throughout her books. I really like reading about “behind the scenes” of film making. This story was a little different than the previous books I read, first of all, there is no man involved in this story, and secondly, it is told from single (Holly’s) perspective. Even though a single perspective was sufficient to get into the novel, I always liked that Jane Fallon incorporated rivals thoughts as well.
I liked the way the author chose her characters, they were different, interesting and in a way, mysterious. I really liked that the reader can get to know them better throughout the book. Holly was a sweet character, sharing her life story as well as the present events, but she lacked the “revenge” spirit. There were so many juicy discoveries, but Holly didn’t use them, and that was a shame. :( I loved the twists and turns in this novel, the pages just fly by while reading this book. One thing that truly surprises me is the number of alcoholic drinks the characters consume. How can they even function after downing bottles of wine? :D The topic discussed in this book is “being a single mother when you get pregnant at a very young age”. Holly’s story is inspirational and I liked that the author outlined the difficulties it can bring.
As I mentioned before, Jane Fallon is a master of what she does, and she definitely knows how to keep a reader “glued” to her book. The language used is easy to understand and the decent chapter length made this novel a very enjoyable read. The ending rounded up the novel very nicely and left me satisfied with an outcome. So, to conclude, Jane Fallon always provides intriguing stories with clever and believable characters, and the plot is filled with office rivalry as well as unexpected discoveries. I really enjoyed this book, and I will definitely recommend it to everybody.

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review.
I have read previous books by Jane Fallon but to be honest I found this storyline a bit dull and repetitive. I did not warm to the characters at all.
I continued to read it because I wanted to find out if the book improved and how it would end. It did improve slightly but overall I was disappointed and felt that the storyline was a bit far fetched. But the style of writing was good.

This is the second Jane Fallon novel I've read, and I quite like her writing style - her characters and plots are believable, and she weaves in a thread of mystery.

This novel is on the theme of friendships and frenemies - as the saying goes "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer". For this book (being a veteran of many hundreds of mystery novels!) I did guess the plot, but that didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book.

I'll definitely read more by Jane Fallon - these books are a good fit if you are looking for a light read that's not too taxing, and would be great for journey or holiday reading.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC in return for my honest review.

Holly has been given a promotion but her dream job turns into a nightmare when she realises that someone is out to humiliate her and undo all her good work. We follow Holly as she navigates workplace dramas and relationships with family and friends, deciding who she can trust and who is trying to keep her from success. I really enjoyed this book, thanks NetGalley!

This starts slow.y, building the settings and scenes. Builds up to a crescendo, I couldn’t put it down, I HAD to know how it finished.
Just make sure your friends really are your friends, and not storytellers, without wanting t9 give anything away! A friend with a fantasy husband, home and lifestyle, working for a TV soap, wanting, but not gett8ng promotion, and how they make life difficult for the one that got it.
Read it, it will make you laugh, be angry, and shout at people!

A real page turner about friends and office politics and workplace rivalries. I couldn't put it down and was greatly impressed by the writing. I loved the characters Holly and Roz. It really was a very entertaining and a compulsive read. I definitely would recommend it.

This was a book with really likeable characters.
Holly has just landed a promotion, her dream job at a studio. But someone is set on sabotaging her, and she thinks she knows who, but is she right?
This latest novel from Fallon follows the office politics when one person is promoted from the staff room to a management office. It is well balance with details and drama from Holly's home and social life.
Lots of twists and turns and a satisfying, but not obvious, conclusion.

I really enjoyed this book, Jane Fallon knows how to weave an intriguing tale! When Holly gets her dream job when promoted at work, not everyone is pleased for her and someone is trying to sabotage her chances of success. Office politics and petty jealousies make me glad I no longer work in an office environment! This book is a great read, sometimes funny and always entertaining. Holly has been too quick to judge people in the past and listens too much to other people's opinions, she learns a to realise who she should trust and who is being manipulative. An enjoyable easy read.

I was disappointed with this - it felt like the plot didn't go anywhere. And it just ended up being a book about emails. I felt like I didn't get to know the characters well enough.

I had really liked previous Jane Fallon titles so this was a shame.

Great story of friends working in an office together. A good read, a well thought out plot that keeps us guessing and a well written book that I would recommend. A true slice of escapism where you can become part of the scene. Working in an office when a promotions splits friends apart but who is your friend when office jealousy comes into play? Another good book by Jane Fallon.

Everything I would expect of a Jane Fallon book with a bit extra. The sort of book you want to read in one sitting especially if that sitting happens to be on a deck-chair!

I have enjoyed all of Jane Fallon’s previous novels but #TellMeASecret surpassed my expectations. Set in the office of a popular tv drama, this book examines the nature of friendships and office politics and keeps the reader guessing as to the identity of the “frenemy”. The story is engaging and entertaining, the characters well rounded and the writing excellent. Some advance reader copies contain formatting issues and typographical errors but not this one. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes an escapist read with a strong well plotted storyline.

I’d like to thank @JaneFallon, the publishers and #Netgalley for allowing me to read this advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 stars.

Jane Fallon is very good at writing light hearted, humorous novels. Her writing is so easy to read that you'll whizz straight through it.
The only downside for me is how ridiculous and petty Roz is. But then, maybe that's the point. I just found myself rolling my eyes a few times. I enjoyed Tell Me a Secret, just not as much as I enjoyed Faking Friends.

I loved this - I raced through it every spare minute over two days. Holly and Roz are work colleagues working on a school based soap opera, and friends, sharing a drink after work, and bitching about co-workers. Roz even helps Holly apply for the promoted post in their department and delights with her when she is appointed ahead of the posh girl they love to hate, Juliet. And then things start happening to Holly - scripts are tampered with to make her look stupid, and emails are sent from her account. Who can Holly count on? Who is Roz? And will Holly keep her job? We have back stories, Holly's hilarious friend Dee, and lots of mishaps. While an entertaining and enjoyable read, it was also one that had me gasping, holding my breath, laughing and really hoping all would come good for Holly. Thanks #netgalley and Jane Fallon for another attention grabber. #tellmeasecret

I've always considered Jane Fallon's books as a bit of a guilty pleasure - she creates larger than life characters and engaging storylines which are really easy to read.
This particular tale focuses on Holly, who has recently been given a promotion at work. However, things start going wrong - scripts go missing, writing is edited and appointments are changed. Holly knows she's not to blame, but someone is clearly trying to set her up. Who is trying to sabotage her new opportunity?
This book was a really quick read for me - I got completely wrapped up in the unfolding scandal and really loved the characters. Some aspects of the hunt for the perpetrator were a little repetitive, but I didn't mind - this is the perfect holiday read.
I'll keep going back to Jane Fallon again and again, because I know she always delivers.
