This story started out really well and had lots of drive. The characters are well written and believable. The tale points the reader towards one suspect but at the end it twists to reveal the true culprit. . This is for me where the book lost is way a tad. I found some of the outcomes unbelievable and a bit far fetched. However on the whole very enjoyable. .

loved this book by liv constantine. good characters and story line. look forward to reading more from this author.

Dr Kate English appears to have it all - a great career, beautiful daughter and a wonderful husband. But Kate's life is suddenly torn apart by the brutal murder of her mother Lily. Kate can't believe that anyone would want to hurt her lovely mother. The only brightness in Kate's life comes in the shape of Kate's former best friend Blaire Barrington who immediately rushes to Kate's side despite them having not spoken for over 15 years.
Following Lily's funeral Kate is shocked to receive threatening text messages from an unknown sender which seem to be creepy versions of nursery rhymes as well as dead mice and birds suddenly appearing in her bedroom. Someone is watching Kate and it looks like they mean her harm. So we are left with the burning questions that make this mystery. Who killed Lily? Who is watching Kate? Should Kate trust Blaire?
A decent read but slightly too many characters for my liking which made it a tad messy and slightly confusing in my opinion.
3.5 stars and thanks to Netgalley and publishers for the ARC.

Having devoured The Last Mrs Parrish, I jumped at the chance of reading Liv Constatine’s new book. While it doesn’t leave you gaping in quite the same way, it’s an intense, engaging and gripping read. I didn’t want to put it down, so definitely a good book!
After her mother is murdered, Kate realises her troubles have just begun as the killer starts threatening her. They can see into her house; they know what she is wearing; they can get into her daughter’s playroom. With a past history of anxiety, it doesn’t take Kate long to start to unravel, mistrusting everyone around her.
I felt for Kate. There are moments when the reader isn’t certain whether she could actually be cracking up. She’s going through something horrendous and you want someone to tell her it’s going to be okay. But Kate comes across as quite pretentious: she is used to wealth and doesn’t always treat others around her in a fair way: even before Kate’s paranoia starts, her attitude towards her daughter’s nanny was irritating – I’m surprised Hilda put up with her!
Blaire is an intriguing character. She was Kate’s best friend when they were children, but a fight on Kate’s wedding day left them estranged for years. Blaire puts the past aside and is determined to be there for her friend. Even with both women narrating, you’re left with no doubt that the estrangement is Kate’s fault and Blaire is being forgiving.
Other characters – Kate’s husband, Simon, her father, Harrison and the detective assigned the case, Anderson – have a presence but you’re not allowed to connect to them. Kate’s paranoia isolates her from those she loves and by not connecting with these characters, it’s difficult to try and work out who the guilty party is.
The narration is split between Kate and Blaire, and ‘unreliable narrators’ should be the strapline of this book. Kate’s past starts to reveal itself – the loss of her fiancé in an accident, her anxiety and delusions she suffered as a result – makes you wonder if her paranoia is grounded in reality, or the stress of the situation.
There were times when the narration jumps back in time for extended paragraphs at once. It worked to add the backstory to the women and their past friendship, but it did slow the pace down at moments when things were tense. Perhaps just another device to keep you guessing at what is going on?
I’m trying to be so careful with how I write this review because this book left me guessing and events did not unfold the way I expected. It made it a tense and exciting read: nothing is quite adding up but there aren’t enough clues to figure out what’s going on.
Full of twists and surprises, this is a novel for anyone who likes to be kept guessing. The world these characters live in is so different from our own that it’s fun to get a glimpse at the wealthy! A definite recommendation!

I read The Last Mrs Parish and enjoyed it so was looking forward to starting this book. I did enjoy this book - a twisty, turny whodunnit thriller. It was well written, full of suspense and kept my interest throughout. I loved the ending which I didn't predict. I didn't really like the characters, but think this was deliberate by the author.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thriller meets chick lit in a compelling easy read.
The book starts with the funeral of a wife and mother of a rich well-connected family. Lily has been brutally murdered, just before Christmas in her own home, a well-liked and respected member of the community. Who could possibly do this and why?
The funeral brings a surprise guest, Kate the daughter’s estranged best friend Blaire. The girls have not been in touch since Kate’s wedding to Simon. Blaire devastated to hear of Lily’s passing, the women who for many years treated her as a surrogate daughter, giving her so much more that her own family, can not keep away. The loss brings both girls together again and they reconnect almost instantly.
Then Kate starts receiving threats, she is terrified, dark messages are left in her home that she shares with her husband Simon and their daughter. Blaire now a successful Detective Author wants to get the bottom of who the murderer is. Who has access to their home, is Simon all he seems? Lily and her husband had rowed just before she died, and Lily contacted her solicitor to change her will, so is Kate’s father Harrison in the frame?
The stress takes its toll on Kate who begins to suspect everyone in their close circle, Blaire is the only one she can trust as she has a rock-solid alibi for the night of the murder. Kate appears to be losing her mind and is close to a breakdown when the police get a breakthrough.
This was an easy read and kept my interest throughout. It was good to read a thriller from the intended victim’s perspective and I had no idea who the murderer was until all was revealed. It did however lack the intensity of a good crime story.
Taramindo.
Breakaway Reviewers received a copy of the book to review

The plot has more twists and turns than a maze, just when you think you know, you turn the page and realise you don’t know IT at all.
The characters were all believable and worked together. All the families and close circle of friends had secrets which helped build the suspense but keeping the end a surprise!
At every point in the book you weren’t wrong to point the finger at each and every character as it could of so easily of been every one of them.
The plot was strong and well thought out, another best seller.
This author doesn’t disappoint!

I would firstly like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved this author's previous book, 'The Last Mrs Parrish', so I was very excited to start this one. And I certainly wasn't disappointed. While I did enjoy the previous book a tad bit more, this one was still suspenseful, intense and gripping right from beginning to end. The characters were all brilliantly-written in such a way that I found myself suspecting everyone at one point or another. And with an ending I didn't see coming, I highly recommend this addictive page-turner !

A great story with plenty of twists and turns. Some element of predictability but even that is not quite as it seems so lots to keep your interest and making it a great read.

An enjoyable and easy summer read if you’re looking for a quick thriller. Perhaps it’s not fair to compare it to The Last Mrs Parrish but it’s hard not to as I loved their first book so much. This one wasn’t bad at all but I don’t think the story was as tight as Mrs Parrish. The ending felt a little predictable but I still enjoyed it and I think it’s a fun, quick read.

A gentle thriller which kept me entertained all the way through.
I really enjoyed the last novel so was looking forward to this one which is a bit of a whodunit and whydoit and there are several good twists in the plot to keep you hooked.
My only criticism, if you can call it that, is that I struggled to like or empathise with the main character. Not because of her wealth and privilege but because of the way she spoke to the nanny. so I kind of stopped routing for her halfway through.
That said, it's well worth a weekend, feet up on the sofa kinda read and I will look forward to the next one.

I loved, loved, loved The Last Parrish by Liv Constantine so I was super excited to read this and I was not disappointed...sort of. Let me explain. I did enjoy this book and I really like Liv's writing style BUT the main character Kate drove me insane, she was just so annoying, I think maybe that was the idea but it started to grate on me by the end so that's why I couldn't give this book the full 5 stars.
The story revolves around Dr Kate English who is incredibly wealthy and lives a very privileged life. I was actually quite astounded by how much she doesn't look after her daughter and that she seemed to only see her when she was doing something fun! But I guess that must be how the elite bring up their children...in a word they don't! It all comes crashing down when someone in the family is murdered and everyone is a suspect. I really liked the intricate web of people who are in Kate's life and never found it confusing to follow.
In conclusion it was a great book, and it actually got me out of my reading slump which says something, but sometimes I just wanted to strangle the main character Kate!

Luv Constantine delivers another gripping page turner. This book is set in America with an affluent family. Kate’s Mum is found dead and the killer is taunting her. This chilling read keeps you engaged to the very last page.

I loved this book, I didn't read the description fully before I started the book, and now reading it I feel like it undersells the brilliance of the story. As a character Kate is brilliant, I really liked her. ( but if Im honest I liked the first Mrs parrish more)

The Last Time I Saw You is a twisty whodunnit thriller that I enjoyed, I did read the last Mrs Parish and think it is the better book but I still enjoyed this one even though I’d worked out the culprit halfway through.....but not the murderer.
Dr Kate English seems to have it all, a handsome husband, a loving daughter and a house and staff to die for until she hears that her mother has been brutally murdered. The police are doing everything they can to get to the bottom of this but meanwhile Kate is getting threatening messages, weird gifts and strange deliveries. Leaving her to think that she is permanently being watched and leading her to becoming paranoid and forgetful, so it’s a good job her friend that she fell out with 15 years ago has reconnected with her at her mothers funeral as no one understands her like Blaire does.
The plot thickens and the book ends neatly, leaving no loose ends.
I would like to thank Netgalley and HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading The Last Time I Saw You. Full of lies, secrets, twists and turns, what more do you need from a book. A fab read and I’m looking forward to reading Liz’s next book.

The murder of Kate's mother brings her oldest and dearest friend back into her life. Kate is struggling to cope wondering who killed her mother and then she starts getting threatening notes and things start to happen in the house. The killer is taunting her and knows too much to be a stranger so who is after Kate and murdered her mother?
This was a quick read and really kept my attention. The story was clever and had some brilliant twists. I figured some out but not all. The story builds to a big finish that was well written and interesting. I liked the ending it was an interesting take and fitted with the story. All the characters were interesting and brought more depth to the story. A great thriller that keeps you guessing.

Katie's Mother is found murdered and from then on her whole rich charmed life comes tumbling down .I didn't really like her much ,too much a spoilt drama queen .There were plenty of suspects none of them likeable .I must admit I didn't guess who the murderer was or the reason why ..Sorry I just didn't enjoy this book as much as I had hoped I would .Many thanks to the Publisher ,the Author ,and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review .

Kate is grieving for her mother who has been murdered whilst also getting death threats herself. She has led a charmed life until now. Wealth, a great career and a loving family. Then enters Blair an estranged former best friend to support her and do her own detective work. A good thriller with a great list of potential suspects. Lots of great twists and a ending I did not guess.

Following the dreadful event of her mother having been murdered, Kate starts to receive threatening messages and grim parcels which disturb her greatly, threatening that she will be the next victim. She becomes overwhelmed by all that has happened, questioning her sanity.
The police are brought in along with security, and various suspects become involved - Simon (Kate’s husband), her daughter’s nanny, and others. She suspects someone is betraying her and doesn’t know who she can trust. Kate’s old friend Briony is offering support, which helps enormously.
I like the way that the story is mainly told from one time frame, rather than keep returning to previous events which can become frustrating. Characters are well developed and drawn, and the plot moves along at a steady pace until the final chapters of the book when the story unfolds dramatically. As a reader, various characters seemed to be the likely perpetrator, and I changed my mind several times as the story unfolds. A clever well-written plot with lots of tension to keep readers guessing.
