As a huge lover of Milly Johnson books I was excited to read this sampler of her latest book. I am hooked and can now not wait until to read the rest, it seems to be a great read which I am sure I will thoroughly enjoy.

This sample consisted of only one chapter. Although the plot sounds interesting based on this very small excerpt, it was a bit too short to get a really good feel of the novel. I would have appreciated a few more chapters to get a better idea.

I really enjoy Milly Johnson books and was rather disappointed that this was only a (very short) chapter. Whilst the quality of writing is there as always, it is difficult to establish several things from around 4 pages. Characters- a very short snap of Sophie- we don't know her agenda or her character. The plot- again a small hint but not really where this is going. ?The "feel "of the book, from 4 pages this is rather difficult to ascertain.. Sorry but I think I learnt more form the blurb than I did from 4 pages. Hence I really don't feel justified to be able to post reviews as I have not read the book (yet) - only the above. To allow a review- if the whole book is not available then maybe 3 or 4 chapters would give bloggers more of a chance to provide a review. I feel bad that I can't do this and this is the first time that this has been like this for me. It wouldn't put me off buying the book as I know Milly's style and really enjoy them. Apologies that I can;t do this justice.
Stars are what I would anticipate the book to be based on previous experience.

Milly Johnson is a favourite of mine, and this taster chapter has left me eager to read the rest of the book.

This little teaser has me ready to read the book. I think Milly Johnson is one of the chic lit royal family and this reads as if it will keep her at the top.

Based only on chapter one this looks to be a really fun and engaging read.
Already there is character development and a sense of engagement built with the main title protagonist.
I’m looking forward to purchasing this book and reading on!

Exciting first chapter, I can't wait to read the rest.
It throws you into a world so rich of character and description , and the people in it easy to believe.
Sure to be a delight of a book.

Well what can I say, another gripping start to Milly Johnson’s latest hit. After only reading Chapter 1 I am eager to read the full book. Having read and re-read all of Milly’s previous titles I am always hungry to read her next offering and this one had me gripped straight away! I can’t wait to hear more about Sophie and John! Will Sophie be another strong woman? I can’t wait to find out .....

Although only the first chapter of Milly's new book, it has me hooked. I can't wait to read on and find out more about Sophie and her horrible husband!

I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of this after being a fan, it is a depart from the "normal" but I really don't think I'm going to be disappointed at all. Milly Johnson will bring her cool wit, classic observation with twist and turns alongway the way. It can only happen in Barnsley!

Millie is always on fire. Her books lift your mood and you always find yourself within her characters.

Interesting, I expected a different style of book from Millie Johnson , however It drew me in and I look forward to reading the whole book .

I honestly do not know how Milly Johnson does it but this was amazing straight from the start. It had so much happening and so much backing story that I was hooked right from the first page. I have read many different Milly Johnson novels before and said that she has a gift and this novel just proved this even more!

I absolutely love Milly's books and I absolutely literally cannot wait for the whole novel to be released as I really, really, really want to find out more! It grips you from the start. So exciting.

It serves me right for not reading properly that it was a sample chapter rather than the book! Hence when I got to the end of the chapter, I was frantically searching for the rest of the book and was gutted when I couldn’t find it. Just goes to show what a great chapter is what and how far it sucked me into seeing what happens next. Love the title, can’t wait for the book!

I have never read a book by this author before, so reading a chapter sample gave me the opportunity to see whether it's a book that i would enjoy or not. Just by reading this first chapter, i can tell that i shall be filling up the gaps in my bookcase with some of Milly Johnson books. Am looking forward to reading the rest of 'The Magnificent Mrs Mayhew'.

I can not wait to read the whole book! Will Sophie fix everything? What a whirlwind relationship that has more to it than meets the eye, an intriguing read. What I have read is well written and full of description that draws you in from the start. What happens next....? I guess I will find out on publication day.
