A funny and entertaining read from Trisha Ashley, gaining extra piquancy from being set in the world of romantic novelists. The main character makes a likeable companion, and it was fun to get extra insights into the life of an author.

I don't like reading books that have been reissued under a different name as often I don't realise and then spend the whole book thinking " have I read this before?' The story was fine, a usual chick lit with a predictable ending, but nevertheless an easy read.

Thank you for the advance copy.

I can always rely on Trisha Ashley to give me a story that captures my attention and I never want to put the book down

This was a re-publication of a book originally published in 2008 and was a little bit a book of the time it was written. I really enjoy Trisha's books and liked this book, although it wasn't as good as her more recent books. It felt like the book just stopped at the end, instead of having a proper ending, which is a shame. It says at the beginning that the book had been tweaked, but not rewritten. However, it may have been better to have improved the ending a little. I still found it a good book to read and finished it quite quickly. I'll carry on working my way through Trisha's older books that I haven't yet read.

I have read and enjoyed all of Trisha Ashley's books and highly recommend them all. Well written and easy to read these are perfect summer books or for a wet afternoon on the sofa. This was not an exception.

I loved the characters in this book who are easy to identify with. Tina is an interesting character who I really liked. This is a funny book which made me laugh in places. Fast paced, well written, I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am normally a huge fan of Trisha Ashley’s books, but Written from the Heart did not quite work for me. I found it hard to care what happened to either of the main characters, particularly Sergei. Turns out it is a re-issue of Happy Endings which was originally published in 2008. There is very little in the way of plot and a very abrupt and unsatisfying ending. The best bits are the letters to and from the clients seeking manuscript reviews and advice on their writing; these are very amusing and the only reason I carried on reading. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is an amusing easy read and you do get some tips if you have the urge to write. I also liked the inclusion of recipes. Initially, it trolls along at a pace but even so, it failed to engage my attention. I usually enjoy and engage with Tricia Ashley's books so was really disappointed that I ended up feeling quite bored by it.

With thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC, which I have enjoyed reading.
This book was previously published as Happy Endings and has now been updated. For followers of Trisha Ashley, Written from the Heart is a welcome addition to their reading of a favourite author. It is easy to read and an enjoyable escape.

This one wasn't for me, unfortunately. It is too old-fashioned and far fetched with unrealistic characters. Just not my cup of tea.

This book was a disappointment and not for me. It was not up to the usual standard of the author.
I had hoped for much more from this book

First of all, can we all take some time to admire this beautiful cover?!
I swear, Trisha Ashley has the most beautiful covers out there. I mean, every book written by her looks gorgeous!
Honestly, tell me, if you saw this novel in a book store, would you be able to resist? Would you just walk away?? I don’t think so (at least I wouldn’t)!

Written from the Heart was previously published by other name: Happy Endings.
So make sure to check if you already have that book on your bookshelf before buying yourself a duplicate (and then buy a book for a friend, if you already have it).

It was edited little, but since it was written many years ago (I’m not sure exactly when, but somewhere around time when Microsoft Vista was a new thing), it is outdated in a way, but it is also very interesting because of the same reason, for it shows us how much things and lifestyle have changed with new technology.

I think this book came to my life in time when I needed it.
Lately, I like to read about writing and writers’ lives, so this book gave me a glimpse of that.
Since the author herself is a very successful writer, I suppose she got an inspiration for this novel from many aspects of her own life.

The story follows Tina Devino who is a published author. Her books do sell, but they are far from being bestsellers, so she makes her living by giving other aspiring authors editing service trough her agency.
She is in relationship with famous ballet dancer Sergei, but although they are together for many years, they do not live together because that is what works best for them.
She spends most of her time writing her books, editing others’ manuscripts and hanging out with her best friend Linny.

Reading this book was like going back in time when Sex and the City was on going tv show.
Tina’s voice reminded me so much of Carrie’s, in parts when she’s (Carrie) narrating the story.
The writing style also reminded me of dairy, only without dates.
What I noticed, and it took me by surprise, is how much Trisha’s own voice changed through the years. I feel like books she publishes today sound different then this one. I have to admit, it was pretty fascinating to me to notice that.

Even though I enjoyed reading this book, I have to admit that I didn’t enjoy the way it ended. I feel like Tine like character didn’t develop at all. We left the same woman we met at the beginning of the book, without any significant change in her personality or her personal life (and there was plenty of room for change, if you ask me!).

I really appreciate every little writing advice the writer gave us through Tina’s voice. I think this book would be appealing to aspiring authors out there too.

I would recommend this book to everyone who likes to read old school chick lit, and who enjoyed the tv show Sex and the City and would like to know more about one writer’s life (but fictional writer, keep in mind!).

This is one of Trisha Ashley's early novels previously published as Happy Endings, the author has made some little tweaks, but overall the story is very much as she originally published it.

This is the story of Tina Devino who whilst a published author herself in the 'midlist' range according to some, offers her advice to other budding authors for a small fee.

If she wants to break into the bestseller lists then she is going to have to do some of the hard work herself. She knows she is not the buxom blonde face of an author that her publisher wants to promote, even less when she discovers the man behind the publication of her next book is her ex husband Tim.

When a chance meeting with a good-looking stranger turns into better news and a new agent, Tina starts to write stories which start to get her noticed. Also what helps of course is being the girlfriend of a well-known Russian ballet dancer, Sergei. But his needs appear to be great and when Tina is not looking someone else in a butterfly mask swoops in to take its prey.

Nothing seems to be going right for Tina, her love life, her friendships and even her work. Surely the knotted mess of it all can be untangled and Tina can find the right path for her heart once again.

For me this is a passable read and one of the author's early works, there are a few too many loose ends for me. I enjoyed the letter from budding authors, which interspersed this novel and probably gave a frightening insight to what people might possibly read or write. But the main storyline did peter out and there was no great conclusion which neither left me satisfied or wished there was a sequel.

If you are a fan of Trisha Ashley then you will enjoy the novel, not the strongest of her oeuvre but there was something about it that made me think - could it possibly be part autobiographical........?

A romcom from Trisha Ashley, a re-issue and previously published as 'Happy Endings'. The tale centres around protagonist Tina and the general ups and downs of her life and loves. Witty and pleasant in parts but not one of the authors best works - substance a little scanty, characters with little depth and the ending very abrupt indeed. I'd recommend looking at some of her other works if new to this author.

This is Trisha Ashley at her best. I absolutely loved Written from the Heart.
Tina is a character you cannot help but love. A writer who has had some success but is not yet a bestseller is working towards that goal. Her life is one that is solitary and that is how she wants it to stay. She has her country cottage and a boyfriend/friend she sees once a week and best friend. However, when she begins to let others in and her life begins to change but not all for the best.
I adore Trisha's style of writing. One minute it has you feeling sad for a character and the next you are laughing out loud. Written from the Heart is told from Tina's point of view and I really enjoy reading a story like that.
Trisha Ashley is an incredible story teller and I cannot wait for her new book out later this year.

I love Trisha Ashley, but I had forgotten how much I disliked the ending of this one the first time I read it back in the day under its previous title. Tina is funny and offbeat and I love the letters from her writing agency. I just wanted it to all work out differently.

Being a huge Trisha Ashley fan I did wonder if I was going to like this book as In the foreword Trisha warns it’s quite different from her other books. It has all the warmth and humour of her other books and I really enjoyed Tina Devino as our lead as she’s strong and knows her own mind . Tina splits her life between her little cottage in Shrimphaven where she is author and literary critic for aspiring authors and Londonwhere she is the girlfriend of Sergei Popov ballet superstar . The letters to and from aspiring authors are great and very funny. And without giving the end away I loved it.

I love all of Trish Ashley’s books, but this one was a little disappointing.
I seem to remember this book under a different name a while ago .
I found I was skipping a few pages too .I did finish the book even though the ending finished to quickly.
I would definitely read more of Trish Ashley books this book didn’t put me off.

A nice fun read, this is a reissue of a previous novel that has been tweaked. Hopefully now there will be a sequel which can provide some much needed answers.

I enjoyed this book, nice characters and an interesting storyline but I do feel the ending wasn't the best and ending pretty quickly. I know this is an older novel renamed but I wouldn't be put off picking up any of the newer stories by this author.
