My thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for a copy of “ Unfaithful” for an honest review.

This was the first book by J L Butler that I had read and I found it very enjoyable.
This kept me guessing bright up to the end to the identity of the stalker.
Entertaining and well paced , to be recommended.

A gripping, thrill-a-minute ride through London’s dark side. This book was a thrilling ride from the beginning. The author’s style places the reader in the book in each scene for an entertaining journey. Awe-inspiring . . . The characters are so well drawn and the plot so well paced, I couldn’t put it down.

This is my first novel by author J.L. Butler and I really enjoyed reading this novel.

We meet Rachel who is 40ish and married to husband Robert. When their daughter leaves home Rachel feels a bit lost I must say.

She tries to make up for her daughter leaving by, well what I think, by filling that void that her life now has. She attends a party and meets her ex love interest. So after a night of cheating on her husband she tries to put it behind her only to realise that someone is watching / stalking her and she needs to figure out who and why.

Fast paced, this novel makes for a decent ride and I enjoyed the style of writing.

Thanks to J.L Butler, NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Really enjoyed this one. Fast paced and easy to read. The title gives it away - there’s infidelity but things don’t go quite how I thought they would with this book.

Rachel is feeling lost. Her teenage daughter has left home to start uni & Rachel lands a job working in the book industry. A party leads to her meeting a former live from her own uni days.

There’s mystery, thrills and good neighbourly relations. One of my frequent complaints about books is that people don’t have families, friends and neighbours- this book fixes that with friends and neighbours (trying to overlook the lack of family!)

I loved this so much I immediately ordered it for my bookshop and recommend highly to my customers. It was a cleverly crafted, grown up psychological thriller with a fantastic ending.

Wow this certainly was my new obsession, a fantastic book that I couldn't stop reading from the beginning until the end and an ending I never guessed.

I can recommend this book and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for giving me the opportunity to read this brilliant book.

The blurb reads ‘Make this you’re new obsession’ and tbh it was true, the book is obsessive reading and I enjoyed every page
A story of stalking,obsession,money/ wealth and jealousies all wrapped round a perfect cast of characters and wonderfully set in the ‘want to live in’ areas of London
The book/ plot felt different to the usual stalking story from the start, how different of course I wont say but it is one of those clever reads where everyone involved could be the stalker and the author cleverly adds little snippets of info to make you think you are on the right track only to find out ( well for me ) you are far away from the truth
Deliciously written, the excitement, anger, lust and frustration drips from every sentence and I found it flawless in every respect for a reader,it pulled me in from the first paragraph, one of those books you are thrilled to be reading
Loved it,dramatic,dark,soooo readable,perfect

10/10

Unfaithful by J.L. Butler.
A FATAL attraction…
Rachel Reeves has it all. The perfect family, a rich husband, and a gorgeous home. But when her only child flies the nest, Rachel feels lost – and succumbs to a mind-blowing one-night stand.
A really good read. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Great story and characters. Tense. Twisty. Couldn't put it down. 5*.

This was a great little thriller. Full of twists and turns and also subtly dealing with modern day issues of infidelity. It would definitely make a good holiday read.

Really enjoyed this novel!

Rachel and husband, wealthy self-made man Chris, are recent 'empty nesters' with daughter Dillon, having just left for university. With Chris away on frequent business trips, and Rachel keen to get back into her career in publishing, she finds herself having a one night stand with her first love, Chris. Putting this down to a moment of madness she walks away from temptation, but soon finds herself on the receiving end of some pretty intense stalking.

With some great writing and more than a few twists and turns this ticked a lot of boxes for me!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book, and look forward to reading more from this author.

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an honest review.

An intense psychological thriller, Rachel has what many would call a dream life, but as her only child leaves for university she feels the empty nest syndrome. So when her friend invites her to a book launch with the opportunity to pitch for a temporary job she is very enthusiastic. But following a one night stand with an old boyfriend her life soon starts unravelling. She starts to receive abusive messages, photographs and anonymous gifts. However she has no idea who the Stalker could be and no-one to turn too.
Although I enjoyed this book, with its many twists and turns, I did feel it was drawn out. There were lots of accusations but nothing really followed up. I was pulled in lots of different directions with who I thought it was and was completely wrong but I did feel the ending was rushed.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

This story is about Rachel, a stay at home mum, whose daughter is just leaving home to start university. Rachel’s husband, Robert, is a high flying business owner, and on the face of everything, Rachel leads a privileged life, with no money worries and the best of everything money can buy. But Rachel is bored. Especially now her daughter has left home. Rachel decides to try and rehash her career from before having her daughter in publishing. She still has contacts in that world, and one night to goes to a party to get back out there and potentially get a job. And that one night is what sets the ball rolling on a whole chain of events.

I feel like I’ve waited ages for another book from this author!! And it’s here and it doesn’t disappoint. The story was well thought out, and had lots of strands to it, and lots of secrets and twists and turns. All the way through I tried to guess who was doing what and failed miserably. I liked the characters, and enjoyed the way modern day topics were tackled, such as depression. I do think that Rachel’s character could have been made a little stronger, some of the decisions or thought processes she had seemed a little weak and soft, but overall I liked them all, and they all brought something different to the table. A great page turning read!!

I enjoyed this. A psychological thriller centered around infidelity makes for a good captivating and emotional read with plenty of drama. One not to be missed.

I love Tasmina Perry's novels so was excited to read her debut Mine under the pseudonym of J.L. Butler. Unfortunately I found Mine to be a disappointing read but Butler is on form with Unfaithful which is the best psychological thriller I've read for a while. Rachel is married to Robert and has a seemingly idyllic life living in their Highgate property with daughter Dylan. However when Dylan leaves for university Rachel feels unsettled and returns to work after 18 years. It's after a work party that she meets her old college boyfriend and has a one night stand. Following this encounter Rachel is stalked and subjected to increasingly abusive and scary messages. I found this to be an intensely gripping and compelling novel that I read over the course of 24 hours. It is full of twists and turns and red herrings and an unexpected ending ! Highly recommended.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this digital ARC.

A Rollercoaster Of A Suspense…
Secrets, lies and revenge - however they are hidden, and hidden well, may just return to bite often when you think that you have everything figured out. With a wholly credible and well crafted cast of characters, a galloping plotline and so many unexpected twists and turns, this is a fabulous rollercoaster of a suspense with all of the right ingredients, mixed in the right proportions, for a read which very quickly becomes impossible to part with. Superb.

Really gripping. J L Butler nailed it.
Rachel Reeves has it all. The perfect family, a rich husband, and a gorgeous home. But when her only child flies the nest, Rachel feels lost – and succumbs to a mind-blowing one-night stand. Instantly regretting her infidelity, Rachel cuts ties with Chris. But he won’t let her go that easily. She erases him from her life – until a text changes everything.
Someone knows what she did.
And they’re ready to destroy her entire life because of it.
I loved Mine and this is better than that One. I loved it. It has an unexpected ending and the way the author has written it is simply brilliant.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK Harper Fiction for giving me an advance copy.
