Thoroughly compelling thriller. I was hooked from the beginning. I now want to read other books by this author

A great beginning; a man is lying dead on the floor, a woman says what will we tell the police? the other woman says tell them he is the man who killed Ruby!!

Vivienne’s sister Ruby was 16 and pregnant when she was murdered, Vivienne aged 8 found her body on her bed and then hid in her wardrobe. It was Vivienne’s evidence that helped put away Ruby’s boyfriend Jack in prison. Jack pleaded his innocence and Jack’s family was vowing revenge. Vivienne and her mother Stella move to London to rebuild their lives.

Vivienne now has a daughter Cleo but still suffers from nightmares about the night Ruby was murdered. Jack has been released from prison and now someone is threatening Vivienne, so that she tells the truth about who killed Ruby. Vivienne is having doubts that the right person was arrested and begins to investigate herself, not realising she is putting Cleo at risk.

This is such an addictive read, I couldn’t read it fast enough and I would never have guessed the ending!! Real life was on hold while I devoured this in one sitting.

A highly recommended book that deserves more than 5 stars.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.

An extremely intriguing storyline. Just couldn’t put this book down! An upto date storyline about a child and the online grooming by an adult with a purpose to control the mother for his own ends. Camilla Way has you thinking one thing, only to lead you in another direction and ultimately to the truth of the murder of her sister 32 years before.

Hooked from the first page, plenty of suspects and plenty of red herrings. I found this book hard to put down. A little stagnant in places but I still had to keep on reading. Who is telling the truth? Read this book for yourself and find out the truth. Almost five stars and highly recommended.
I would like to thank the author, publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.

Camilla Way has done it again. Yet another brilliant psychological thriller that will have you guessing until the very end. This story is about sisters Vivienne and Ruby and the horrible death of ruby and her unborn child. Vivienne has blocked out the horror of that day and as the book goes on she unravels the truth. This book is definitely a page turner and seriously addictive.

Heavily pregnant 16 year old Ruby Swift is murdered in her bedroom, and her little sister Vivienne (8) is a key witness in getting boyfriend Jack convicted of the crime. Over thirty years later, Vivienne has to face her nightmares once again when her own daughter’s life is threatened. Was she mistaken about Jack’s involvement in Ruby’s death?

I really enjoyed this book. It may have got slightly bogged down in the middle, but the ending made up for any issues along the way! I was not even close in predicting the truth surrounding Ruby’s death and loved it even more because it wasn’t predictable. A great story, with interesting characters, many with secrets to hide, and a brilliant ending! A book not to be missed.

A well written chilling thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

If work had not got in the way I would have read it in one go.

A thriller with a slow burn. There are lots of red herrings and fairly dislikeable men ! Vivienne is a troubled soul after the murder of her sister 32 years previously. After a slow start the book goes along at a galloping pace with a surprising ending. Good read.

I enjoyed this book, although not as much as I thought I would. The description had me hooked in but the story fell a bit flat, however it does pick up towards the end and I am glad that I finished the book as the final twist was unexpected.

I liked the premise of this, and the execution was ok, worth 3 stars to me. The mystery of just who really killed Ruby was intriguing, however it just felt to me like it missed the mark slightly. Don't get me wrong, it was an enjoyable read but it fell short of my high expectations. I felt like the characters weren't likable, and therefore I don't think I developed any empathy for them as I read.

My first book by Camilla Way and I am disappointed as I found this book drawn out at times. The idea behind the storyline is good, many years ago Vivienne's sister Ruby was murdered by her boyfriend Jack and witnessed by Vivienne. Many years later, Vivienne now a mother to Cleo, Vivienne herself must relive the past when her daughter is kidnapped. But it is slow starting and I found myself skipping pages. I am now rereading and it is better the second time around.

This was a psychological thriller with a strong sadness thread running through. Some very believable characters and a compulsive story line. A feel good conclusion which was delightful.

This book is so full of twists and turns, many of which you just won't see coming.
Viv's older sister is murdered when she is just 8 years old, Ruby is 16 and pregnant when she is murdered. On Viv's evidence Ruby's abusive boyfriend Jack is put away for her murder.
Years later Viv has her own child Cleo, and is happily getting on with her life untill little things lead her to question Who killed Ruby?
This is such a good thriller, and is not predictable at all. I highly recommend.

This is a gripping story about a family and the effect that murder has on them. The protagonist’s sister, Ruby, was murdered when she was 16 and pregnant. Ruby’s boyfriend was convicted of the crime, but was he really the killer?

Vivienne's sister Ruby was murdered, along with her unborn son, thirty-two years ago. Her murderer was convicted on the evidence that a terrified Vivienne gave. But the "truth" that Vivienne has let shape her life is about to unravel.

I am a huge fan of psychological thrillers, and Camilla Way's "Who Killed Ruby" is a brilliant example of the genre. Realistic characters, great plotting and a twist that I didn't see coming, this is a great read to get stuck into! I did feel that the earlier chapters dragged a little, but as the pace picks up and races towards the dramatic conclusion, it's easy to forget as Way's narrative pays-off with a great twist. Creepy and unnerving!

Ruby is a teenager, murdered by her manipulating boyfriend in a jealous rage. Sent to prison for 30 years by the witness testimony of her younger sister was in the house at the time.. Ruby’s sister, Vivienne now has a child of her own but something niggles her about the day Ruby died, she just doesn’t know what.

A good page turner of a thriller which I enjoyed reading. There were quite a few plot twists and the book does tie up all the loose ends of the story which is always a positive. Not an especially dark thriller, but an easy read that will keep you guessing.

I really enjoyed this book and I did not realise where the story would take me i.e who killed Ruby. I enjoyed the characters in the book but would have liked to know more about Alek – did he work in a hospital or not, why did he disappear. I know it was muted in the book about his past but felt he could have made a more important role in Cleo’s drama. I thought the reason for Stella and Viv leaving their home and moving to London was a great turn of events especially as they then found their way to a commune which helped Viv grow into the person she became with a lot of problems after she left which could probably have been avoided had one woman managed to be more of a role model that she was allowed to be. Stella came across as a pleasant sole in the beginning but without giving too much away, people can be deceiving. I did not get the feeling about Stella’s character which is the sign of a book story teller. There is more I would like to say but feel I may give away the plot so please read this book, it is a great psychological thriller. Thank you Netgalley etc for the chance to read this and well done Camilla Way. Not read her books before but will do so in the future
