Elizabeth Banks is always trying to impress her father. Always trying to show him that she can run his company just as well as anyone else. She is pushing for CEO and their new launch for men's suits may just get her there. Lizzy has to find the perfect man to be her model for the new men's line. When all the top profile men turn her down she finds herself drawn in by a man that her father would not approve of. However Elizabeth is sure she can make him into the perfect man.

When she exceeds her own expectations and the entire country agrees she decides that James Rowan was already the perfect man for her. Now he is being pulled away by all those wanting to buy into their lies. Will the truth come out about James? Will they realize they don't need all the money to be happy they just need each other?

I completely enjoyed these characters and the strive for power and need to show she could do the job.

This is the first book in the Million Dollar Series. OMG! I love this story so much! The story is beautifully written, fun and sexy. Jimmy/James and Elisabeth/Lizzy are such great characters. Jimmy is really handsome and caring. They share a beautiful chemistry. I like their slow burn story. Charlie, Jimmy's brother, is also a great character. The other secondary characters are also interesting. The ending is beautiful. I totally recommend this story. Now, I can't wait to listen to the audiobook version of this story, and for the next book in the Series!

There is nothing more wonderful than a great book, one that pulls you in and entertains while giving you all the feels. Katy Evans's Million Dollar Devil does all that and more!
Add in a slow burn romance and chemistry hot enough to cause spontaneous combustion and you have perfection on the pages.

Elizabeth "Lizzy" Banks is a character I can understand and relate to, especially the pressure she is feeling to not only have a successful campaign launch with the perfect man for the brand, but to also impress her father into considering giving her control of the company he founded after he steps down. That's a lot to handle, not to mention extremely stressful. Initially I thought how she kept putting Jimmy down as needing work was a bit excessive, but I realized while it may have come across in a demeaning way, she was unable to balance her attraction to him while handling all of that stress so she used that technique to convince herself it wasn't worth pursuing anything with him. Watching her learn about what kind of man Jimmy was and learning how wrong she was. for me. very satisfying.

And what can I say about James "Jimmy" Rowan? The man is beautiful and talented and has a heart of gold. He wasn't perfect either, but watching him take care of Lizzy and handle everything thrown at him was uplifting and super-sexy. I mean how can you not love a man who will go the extra mile to protect and provide for the people he loves? I loved how he was willing to take risks to do that, but still a man of character. It bothered me he kept putting himself down, but I realized it's difficult for most people to acknowledge their better qualities. I mean if all you hear from others is how low, dirty, and unsuitable you are, you will start believing it, so it's not difficult to understand why Jimmy would put himself down. I loved that he wasn't willing to tolerate when it came to his loved ones! He's a wonderful addition to the canon of Katy Evans's heroes!

Lizzy and James together burned up the pages! Katy Evans is a master at crafting romantic tension and then elevating the anticipation to almost unbearable levels before delivering in the best way possible. I absolutely adored watching their love story unfold. I loved meeting Luke and can not wait to read Million Dollar Marriage and get to know him better. I loved how he was there for Jimmy and a great friend. I hope Lizzy and Jimmy have some cameos, but I'd love to see more of them!

Million Dollar Devil is the perfect summer read- hot, sexy, entertaining, funny, and will tug on your heart-strings. Lizzy and Jimmy have to work through things to find each other, but it is so worth it! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

What kind of man would you pick to be the next Million Dollar Man? Elizabeth Banks is determined to make her Daddy proud. In doing so she needs to create the "perfect" man for the new Banks, Ltd suit line for her father's clothing company.

Elizabeth (Lizzy) didn't expect to come across James (Jimmy) Rowan. She can't believe her luck though. It will take some doing but she's determined to make him into the new face of the Banks, Ltd line.

There's trials throughout this process because let's face it - everyone's definition of perfect is different. Lizzy wants James to be the most romantic, perfectly mannered, smoldering man who looks every bit of a million dollar man.

James just wants to give his little brother better choices and experiences than he had. When Ms. Banks approaches him with this deal to be their new face he couldn't pass up the million dollar deal. Though during the process of living up to her rules there's something about her that he just can't resist.

Of course you know there has to be some obstacle standing in their way, or several. Overcoming them seems to be the biggest obstacle of all. The way these two characters are together will warm your heart. James Rowan has smooth moves and Lizzy melts like butter. Oh, I have a feeling you'll enjoy this contemporary romance. It hits all the smoldering triggers.

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans is the first book in the Million Dollar series. It is a stand-alone and OMGGGGG it was so good! It was not what I was expecting at all. From the very first chapter it sucked me in and did not let go! It was a slow burning, exciting, and captivating read that I couldn’t put down. Million Dollar Devil was full of chemistry that was off the charts hot and characters that are unforgettable.

Socialite Lizzy Banks is desperate to prove to her father that she can run a billion dollar empire. She will do just about anything to get that approval-like creating the perfect man for the new men’s line that’s coming out. Too bad she doesn’t realize that by creating the perfect man, she was setting herself up for heartbreak.

YouTube sensation Jimmy Rowan will do just about anything for a dare. He’s charming and lives life from one daring adventure to the next. So when he meets Lizzy and she offers him a million dollars to become the new face of Banks LTD, what could he say besides yes??

I loved this book so freakin’ much! The slow burn romance between the characters was fantastic! Ms. Evan’s writing is phenomenal in Million Dollar Devil and I am so looking forward to reading more in this series!

Katy Evan's Million Dollar Devil features two completely new characters: Elizabeth Banks and James Rowan. While this was not my favorite Katy Evans book, mostly because of Lizzy, I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Lizzy was a hard character to like because of her "holier than thou" attitude and I wish we had gotten someone more down to earth. I did get where she was coming from but the way she spoke to James grated on my nerves more than a few times. There is absolutely nothing wrong with James. While reading the book, I couldn't help but think that he deserved someone better. The attraction between them was there but I wanted more substance. Lust is temporary, love is forever.

I honestly didn't get why Lizzy was so fixated on wanting her father's approval. That man is... something. I guess with that kind of man as a father, it's kind of expected that she would eventually grow up to have this kind of personality. I also thought Lizzy's hot and cold attitude towards James got old really fast and I wanted something to happen between them. On the other hand, I was really intrigued and really liked James as a character. He wanted to earn money so that he and his brother could get "out of the slums" and a better life. As mentioned in the synopsis, James is a daredevil. He is a up-and-coming Youtube star who takes dangerous dares for money. He and his brother Charlie live a hard life and when Lizzy offers him one million dollars to become a model for her father's company, he takes it.

Even though the story was slightly frustrating at times, Million Dollar Devil was good for what it was -- a light-hearted read with good chemistry between two completely opposite characters. If you're looking for something with more feelings, romance, and sexual tension between the hero and heroine, I recommend you read her fantastic Real, Manwhore, and Manhattan series as well!

Lizzy wants to take over her father's men's clothing company when he retires and to do that, she has to come up with a new face for the new clothing line. After being rejected by everyone she has approached, she goes into the nearest bar to drown her sorrows ... that's where she meets Jimmy. When Jimmy's parents died, he became the only relative his young brother had and he's been raising him ever since ... anyway he can. Jimmy has become a YouTube star being a dare devil. But when Lizzy lays eyes on Jimmy's beautiful face, she knows she's found the person to be the face of the new clothing line ... she just has to change him from Jimmy to James. And how can Jimmy refuse $1,000,000 for 3 months work ... no matter what he has to do.

Who doesn't like men dangerously handsome? I just loved how Jimmy would do anything for Lizzy ... he was smitten from the first time they met. I know that Lizzy was just changing him for the clothing line, but it was funny that she couldn't resist him either. This book has a little of everything in it ... it made me laugh, swoon and come close to tears! The sexual innuendo in this book is hot ... never mind the actual sex scenes! A great start to a new series.

⭐️ 3.5 "Daredevil" Stars ⭐️
When I first read the blurb for Million Dollar Devil I was already sold on this story. Sadly for me, this novel didn’t entirely convinced me. I had difficulty for the first quarter of this book to be captivated by the storyline, but persevered in my reading. It paid off because I gradually connected more to the characters and enjoyed this book. Not my favorite from this author, but still pleasant.

Lizzy would do anything to prove to her dad she’s capable of becoming the next CEO of his company. When all her options to find the next face for Banks LTD’s upcoming menswear collection are lost, she turns to cocky daredevil James Rowan.

James is rough around the edge, shameless and so sexy! The complete opposite of what the company represents. Always ready for a dare, he accepts Lizzy’s million dollar offer and the transformation starts. I enjoyed his never-ending sexual innuendos toward the young woman. She’s not accustom to this kind of forwardness, but can’t help the attraction simmering between them. Lizzy’s always trying to please her father, but by doing that she’s not living her life and James shows her a new audacious side of her.

I enjoyed this couple flirty banter and the blossoming of their romantic relationship. This is quite slow, but I still enjoyed the pace. Million Dollar Devil wasn’t as attention-grabbing as I wanted, but I had good time reading it.

I really enjoyed this book. The heat level was't as high as I expected from this author but that was ok with me. The sexual energy and banter between James/Jimmy and Lizzy was intriguing and I enjoyed the slow build up. I also enjoyed watching both these characters change especially as Jimmy transforms into James. Jimmy was not the bad boy character I originally thought he was. In fact he turned out to be quite sweet. I was expecting Lizzy to be a snobby princess since she was raised with money but wasn't that way at all and I found her real and genuine. I like the premise of this book and these characters really brought the story to life. I'm looking forward to more in this series. I would definitely recommend this book.

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans was just one of those stories where you either love it or you hate it.

The author and the blurb was what quickly drew me to the book but I was completely let down with the heroine. She's an heiress trying to please her father. No backbone. The things she said about the hero being "garbage" and a "sewer rat" among other names and multiple times throughout the novel was uncalled for. Even though she apologizes at the end, the damage was done.

However, there are many points for the hero. James was this sexified, raw, roguish, bearded man. Any dare presented to him, he's taking it all to care for his young brother. Yet, James seemed to be constantly objectified. Big N-O for me as a reader.

Overall, this story just did not do it for me. Yes, it was sexy and there was an electrifying connection between the main characters but it lacked humility in my opinion. Thus, making a novel that I was not particularly fond of.

I’m going to show my age here and say Million Dollar Devil had a definite classic movie vibe to it, specifically My Fair Lady. Working-class, rough around the edges person transformed into the epitome of high society by an upper-class person desperate to prove themselves. This time with a gender switch to add to the dynamic of the story.

Million Dollar Devil is emotionally intense which is something I have come to associate with Katy. the connection between the hero and the heroine defies logic but nevertheless is all consuming and captivating.

Lizzy has some serious Daddy issues which she tries valiantly to overcome by proving her worth to the family business. However, the emotional scars of her childhood and the loss of her mother at a young age, run deep and affect all areas of her life. Leading Lizzy to project a cool exterior in order to protect herself from additional hurt.

James also has family issues which are how he has built a reputation for undertaking dares for money. On the surface, he would appear completely irresponsible, yet underneath his gruff exterior is a family guy determined to provide a good life for his younger brother😍

Chance or fate bring Lizzy and James together with an opportunity neither of them can afford to miss.

Not only is James transformed through the makeover process but Lizzy is as well. Both taking the pieces from each other they need in order to achieve balance. In essence, they become the best version of themselves.

Although it isn’t all plain sailing the obstacles they face enable them to grow as individuals as well as a couple. There is a delightful twist in the tale that while unexpected added a serious case of warm and fuzzies to the narrative.

My adoration of Katy Evans increases with every story she writes 💖 4.5/5

Million Dollar Devil is a fantastic story, the writing is superb and the characters, although complete opposites, are perfect for each other.
From the first time Elizabeth and James meet the sexual tension flowing between them is off the charts. He stalks her with his catlike approach and she scampers away but is immediately drawn back to his masculine magnetism. Lizzy exposes James to a world he would have never had the opportunity to be a part of. He conforms to her world but it really isn’t who he is or wants to be.
They come from such opposite stations in life but the chemistry between them can not be denied, but more importantly their relationship allows them to finally figure out who they want to be.

The next two paragraphs are my favorites in the book and show the intensity of the passion that flows between these two characters.

“Every part of this man has touched my life. Every part of him I’ve touched has touched me back, and the parts that I had nothing to do with have outright shone on their own. Near blinded me. There is so much to him to admire.”

“When I am with him I want to shed that skin and just be me, the girl who tries to be perfect but never really buys into being all that. The girl who just wants to be happy, succeed in life, have her father’s love, joke around, and yes, even, fall deeply and madly in love with the guy who will make her feel happy. Compliment her perfectly.”

Stunts were Jimi Rowans life until he met her...Elizabeth...the Heiress and daughter of a fashion magnate Harold Banks. She made him offer he couldn't resist and on top of that a hope, that maybe he could get Lizzy's delicious body and soul for himself. What they didn't plan on was fall one for another. Except all that shine and glamour had its price. The lost of friends and Self. Was it even worthy to become someone else and forget about the person he once had been?

Read this amazing story about trust, hope love and so much more. The book is so very much Katy Evans, raw, emotional and the twist....le sigh... oh so brilliant. I loved every second.

A diamond in the rough, James has invaded Elizabeth’s life and turned everything she knows upside down.

Opposites may attract but these two are over the top. Attraction from the start, they each had what the other wanted. The chance for Elizabeth to win over her fathers approval and for James to create a better life for him and his brother. Three months and a million dollars. What could go wrong...

I find that Katy’s books are hit or miss. While I enjoy her writing style, I found Million Dollar Devil lacking the “it” factor. I wouldn’t say this story was a total miss for me as James saves the story with his gentle giant character. I enjoyed seeing his transformation into the “perfect man” while allowing Elizabeth a transformation of her own. While it was not a one sitting read, I did enjoy the end product.

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans is book 1 in the Million Dollar series and can be read as a standalone. It tells the story of Lizzy who is trying to impress her father with a new campaign for their men’s clothing line.

She finds Jimmy, a dare devil in a bar and offers him the opportunity to clean up his image and use him for their next campaign.

The chemistry is off the charts, as their attraction grows during the process. The book was reminiscent of both Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and Pretty Woman, although the roles were reversed.

Will Lizzy do anything to please her father, at the expense of her own happiness? Will James be compromised by the money offered to him? You will have to read this great story to find out the answer. I loved this book and hope that we will re-visit these characters in an upcoming book.

Love Katy’s writing. She is able to build such a great story so well. Strong character development and depth make it hard to put down!

When I first saw the blurb, I was like ”This I have to read”. It reminded me of the movies The Makeover (starring Julia Stiles – love it!!!) and another movie that was about a guy who is homeless (I think) and steal watches (??? and I can’t find it anywhere so if you know the title please tell me!!!). Anyway, in both cases, there was a complete makeover and the guy turned out hot. Of course.

The book wasn’t so bad but it wasn’t good either. Couple things that bothered me:

For one, how was Lizzy always thinking that she made him that way, she made him desirable, gorgeous and hot. She made him sophisticated. I get where that came from but it gets annoying if she thinks that he’s nothing without her. I mean, yeah, maybe he’s not great for your circle but he’s still a great person??

I also know that she changed a lot about him just so he could fit in her circle but I still kind of hated her when she was forcing him to smoke even though he refused to do that.
_________
I reach into the humidor, where I keep a stash of my father’s favourite cigars for those rare, once-every-
few-months evenings when he comes over for dinner. I offer the box to him.

He shakes his head. ”Quit smoking when I was eighteen.”

”To smoke is human; to smoke cigars is divine.” I take one out, open his jacket, and stuff one in the inside
pocket.
________
Like b*tch, if he doesn’t smoke, he doesn’t smoke. There are a lot of people who don’t, no need to force them just to fit in.

When I was reading this and other similar moments, where she talked about dad in the same line, it looked to me like she wanted to turn James to be exactly like her dad.

In one moment, even her friendship was weird. I think her friend despised James because he was a ”nobody” which was mentioned when that same friend found out James is not really a rich man but rather a common one.

I also wished that text messages would be in italics or in other way separated from the rest of the text because sometimes I couldn’t distinguish between what was a text message and what was just a normal line in a book.

3.5 stars.

4 YouTube Meets the Upper East Side Stars

I knew immediately when I started this book I was going to struggle with some of this story. However, I'm an avid fan of Ms. Evans's writing and I kept reading and am so happy I did. This story brings together two worlds that you'd never think would be in the same world! And talk about being complete and total opposites! Lizzy and James, aka Jimmy, couldn't be further apart than if they were literally on different sides of the world!

Lizzie is a girl that's trying to please Daddy and make their newest campaign the best one yet and when she can't find the man she's looking for, she "creates" him when she meets Jimmy in a true blue-collar bar where his "office" is as a YouTube daredevil. Their chemistry is apparent from the get-go but I so loved that their getting down and dirty so to speak was a slower burn.

As much as Jimmy is a daredevil, there's a side to him that gave me all the warm fuzzies. Especially when it comes to Charlie and everything he does for him. I loved how he will do anything to give Charlie everything he possibly can and when Lizzy finds out, as frustrated as she is with him, it truly shows him in a different light and she's more determined than ever to make him into this "man that no woman could resist."

Lizzie for her part is a woman that's trying to straddle two worlds.... the one her father wants her to live in and be and the one she's creating with James and how her feelings for him make her feel. He's definitely not the type of man she brings home to Daddy. The big question is, will she stand up for the man she's come to love?

There's some definite hurdles for these two and quite honestly I didn't find everything plausible especially with how much Jimmy is expected to change. He's the way is and has been his entire life and taking a blue-collar man to a man that speaks with no accent or affectation in such a short time is pretty much impossible. However, I was invested in this story and really wanted to see what happened at the end. It was worth the wait too because I swooned all over the place!

Overall, this wasn't my favorite book by Ms. Evans, it's a good read and I loved how both our H/h made changes throughout the book and ultimately became people that can have and find love in the worlds they live in.
