While I’m a huge fan of Katy Evans, there were definitely some mixed reviews on this book, but I have to say I enjoyed it. There were some aspects and parts of the book that were a little confusing, but other than that the storyline was pretty spot on and didn’t have any unresolved questions or feelings by the end. Lizzy has spent her entire life trying to live up to the fact that she wasn’t born a boy to her father. Determined to take over the family business, she convinces him to let her take lead on the latest project. When her plan fails and she is drowning herself in her sorrows, she finds a diamond in the rough, Jimmy. With some convincing and lots of money, she gets Jimmy to sign on and transforms him into the sophisticated man needed for the job. But as the two work closely together, they end up developing feelings, but neither fit into the other’s world. Overall, it was a decent book, and I’d definitely read the next one in the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I love Evans’ writing, so it was a surprise that I couldn’t get into Million Dollar Devil. The plot is an original one; the reversal of roles well-thought-out. However, I wasn’t at all keen on the female protagonist. I would have liked to connect to her more and I know this shouldn’t influence a review, but she constantly rubbed me up the wrong way.

Lizzy’s father has little faith in her abilities to do the job given, causing issues which I found a tad unrealistic. And her stuck-up attitude seemed to be completely offset. Daddy’s rolling in it and she’d do just about anything to please him, so why she’s shirty towards her new employee when she needed him, just didn’t make sense. There’s no excuse for rudeness regardless of one’s social status and that for me was the beginning of the end.

To say Jimmy’s drop-dead gorgeous would be putting it mildly. A rough diamond too, signing the dotted line for a total makeover is the answer to his predicament. I really liked that he put his younger brother’s well-being before his and the banter between the siblings is fab. He’s also quite masterful at throwing sexy innuendos Lizzy’s way although her haughtiness kinda kills the humour behind them.

I’m not in a position to make more comments as I was unable to finish the book in its entirety. Some romances simply don’t grab us; nonetheless, this might be the one for you. Mountlake Romance provided the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you.

Outstanding! The build up. The chemistry. Gah! Katy hooked me from the beginning and kept me intrigued throughout the book.

Million Dollar Devil has humor, off the charts sexual tension and a fabulous story-line. I love the duel point of views and can’t say enough about the writing.

Can wealth make a person happier? Will being deceitful make a person stronger? Morales are questioned. Emotions run high. Will Lizzy accomplish what she needs to do or will her heart give her the strength to stand tall.

A standalone novel worthy of your attention!

Pretty boy to be a perfect man.
Be careful for what you wish for and note to self, make sure you can handle it.

For a woman who grew up in a world of men, without a smile from her father and not so many relationships, she knows how to pick them. She can’t handle what she doesn’t know... I mean, has the girl been out, ever?

Like father like daughter they seem to have a lack of what’s important and just see people by the cover. Good luck to impress them all.

The best suit, the better mask, the better lie.

I could let it go if the author invested as much as previous works. I was not impressed, but leave you with your thoughts if you want to read it.

It pains me to say that, but I'm just not able to give positive feedback for this book. I'm a huge fan of Katy Evans, but this one just didn't work for me. At all. Hopefully, her next book will be a better fit. Thank you for the opportunity.

Jimmie is a You Tube daredevil that earns a modest income from doing stint videos and takes care of Charlie. Lizzie works for her father’s suit company. She’s trying to prove to her father her value to the company. Now put on charge of finding the perfect model for the new line Lizzie finds herself in a bind when everyone turns her down. She is told about Jimmie and decides to make him the perfect man. Problem is he isn’t the poster boy for that image and needs a lot of work. Can she fool everyone including her father or fail miserably

Wow!
Just wow! A deliciously enticing story!!!
When Elizabeth banks sets out on finding the man to be the face for her family’s company, needless to say she certainly gets a real man’s man!!
Initially I wasn’t sure what to make of James, but he grew on me so very much!
He could charm the pants off a saint, oh me oh my! He was snarky, gruff, a little naughty when it counted and swoonworthy as well!
I devoured this book! I just wish I could meet the man that had lizzy in a muddle! Alas hes fictional but what a fictional man he is! Goodness me! I really loved his heart and caring nature especially where family is concerned! Don’t even get me started on the words that came out of his mouth!
I thought James brought out another side to Lizzy and I loved everything about this story! How their relationship progressed and dilemmas that were faced!
How does Lizzy get a caveman like man and turn him into a prince???!!
Sheer will, tenacity and a whole lot of help!
Read it for yourself or you are missing out! Add it to your tbr list today!

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans set my heart and body on fire with the gloriously passionate and explosively sensual story. The author did not hold back with her perfect punches of emotion. It was a straightforward and unapologetic pleasure fest with love, sex and life.

Katy Evans men are always a class apart for me. They own me from the very beginning. James aka Jimmy is probably the most rustic, dirty talking, down to earth hero by her yet he had the same charisma and enticing pull. A man with a wicked sense of humor, belief in living without regret and embracing life fully. Elizabeth Banks needs a perfect man to star in her father's company's next prestigious mens wear campaign to prove she is worth her father's approval. And Jimmy stumbles on her way. All she has to do is transform this rugged, almost "uncivilized" and gorgeous specimen of manhood to a refined version. The problem is Jimmy wants her and he is bluntly pursuing her. The bigger problem? She wants him too. But she doesn't know how to do that without jeopardizing her career and her heart.

I love Elizabeth's character so much. She is trying too hard to prove herself but she cannot see she is already perfect with her elegance, beauty ,intelligence, hard work and golden heart. Jimmy is making her feel everything and making her believe in herself. Their chemistry is off the charts hot but the emotional connection was even more beautiful. Two people from two opposite sides of the world understand each other perfectly with all the darkness, shadows, cracks and imperfections. Katy Evans threw me for a loop with Jimmy's transformation, both physical and mental. My heart was breaking for Elizabeth and I was beyond relieved when everything fall into place. The push and pull was making me crazy!

Sometimes I need a book that will take back me back to the core of a great romance. Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans did the job perfectly. This story is essentially pure sexy romance with all the burning passion, swoonworthy moments, brilliant characters and heartrending storyline.

Her brain may have had a plan, but her heart just stepped in it big time. Million Dollar Devil keeps it tempting while drawing attention to some harshly, realistic truths. Evans lets her pen run free on issues such as sexism and social prejudice. Lizzy and James have a great deal to learn from each other and these fictional characters, could teach the real world a few things as well. Sexy, sassy and surprisingly, relevant when it comes to social issues.

This is almost like a Pretty Woman type of situation except the roles are reversed and James is a YouTuber who becomes a suit model. James was all about getting into Lizzy’s suit pants from first eye contact, it was nonstop. Lizzy was just meh for me. I don’t know, I had a hard time getting through this. It was dragging and I started skimming some parts. Unfortunately it didn’t blow me away.

It's no surprise that Katy Evans stands in the lead as one of my favorite authors. When I first read the blurb for Million Dollar Devil I was a little bit hesitant and as I'm writing this review I'm still a little hesitant.

About Million Dollar Devil:

Million Dollar Devil is told in two point of views (James and Lizzy).

Lizzy is dead set on proving to her father that she is someone he can be proud of and she's someone who will work just as hard, if not harder, than the men on his team. Her task is to find a hotshot to model their upcoming clothing line. And she's found the perfect guy, the only problem, her perfect guy needs a whole hell of a lot of fine tuning.

James is a daredevil hotshot on the rise youtube sensation. He makes a living by performing unimaginable stunts he likes to call dares. Anybody can dare him to do anything, and he'll accept if the price is right.

My Thoughts

The prologue for Million Dollar Devil immediately captured my attention. Katy Evans has a way of drawing her reader's attention right off the bat and she definitely drew me in hook, line, and sinker. Elizabeth (Lizzy) was someone who I feel most woman can relate to in one way or another. She's out for acceptance from her father, and she'll do everything in her power to make him proud, even if it means sabotaging herself in the end. We all have felt the need to make our parents proud in one way or another. This is where I related to Lizzy the most.

James was a surprise to me. At the beginning this man had some serious alpha vibes, especially given that bar fight scene. But that's not where his personality stops, this man is cocky, flirty, and a real sweetheart. I loved the banter between the two in the beginning.

I loved the characters on their own, but together I felt like the spark fizzled out at the beginning. Maybe because the burn was too slow, maybe because they were both strong characters and that strength crossed into unchartered territory. I don't know what it was but for some reason the chemistry didn't flow effortlessly like it normally does with KE's characters. I had trouble connecting and understanding their relationship. I wanted the heat, I wanted the undeniable truth that these two are meant to be. I guess what I really wanted was the perfect HEA.

Don't get me wrong, I did like this novel. But I wanted to love it so damn much. I wanted to not be able to sleep because this novel was on my mind. I wanted to be consumed with KE's words but that didn't happen and I completely understand It's near to impossible to love every single novel an author writes. But damn, I wanted to be wrong about the blurb and I wanted to love this one.

I do also have to say, I have been in a slight book funk lately so that could be a factor with my rating and my feelings towards Million Dollar Devil. I have a feeling this is another novel that I will be revisiting in the near future.

4.5 Stars for Million Dollar Devil the new series by Katy Evans.
Elizabeth Banks is socialite but she is desperate to prove herself a worthy heiress to the Banks fortune, she may be the only child of Harold Banks but that doesn’t mean she gets special treatment when it comes to business so when she is given the job of finding the face for the launch of their new men’s line she knows she needs to find the perfect man. Enter Jimmy Roman a daredevil who posts all his stunts on YouTube, he may be rough and ready but he has the face she wants......
Lizzy makes it her mission to turn Jimmy into the face of Banks Ltd but in the process she turns him into the man every woman wants to be seen with and that also includes Lizzy Banks.........
This is a fun entertaining read with characters who’s chemistry is electrifying, it has plenty of witty banter as well as some hot passionate moments. Great start to the new Million Dollar Series.

4 Star Review Million Dollar Devil (Million Dollar #1) by Katy Evans

What’s Lizzy Banks going to do when she needs to find a perfect man in a hurry? Especially since those she knows just won’t make the cut; she re invents one which is where James Rowan comes into the picture.

Lizzy offers James a ridiculous amount of money to allow himself to be turned into the “perfect” gentleman.

There is some humour and certainly intense chemistry throughout Million Dollar Devi as the tension between Lizzy and James builds. Lizzy took me quite a while to relate to her, I just couldn’t connect to her. James on the other hand was totally swoon worthy, just a great guy who ticked the boxes for me. I loved how adventurous he was and that he was so loyal.

I really can’t put my finger on it but although this book was good it is not my favourite from this author.

Addicting...Heart Aching...Passion...Want...Need...Then It All Shatters!

I felt like my heart was in my throat almost the whole time I was reading this book! My heart bled for Jimmy during his transformation into James. I could feel him losing himself one suit at a time. Lizzy was perceived as a spoiled heiress. A lot ways, she is. I was not sure how I felt about until about the middle of the story. Then everything progressed.

The playful side of Lizzy made me love her and get the understanding that I needed from her.

Million Dollar Devil will keep you captive until the very end. I love Katy Evans stories, but when she gave us Jimmy and Lizzy, there was no turning back for me!

She wanted to change him to be the perfect man. But what she realized was he was already perfect. For her. Money, power, prestige doesn't mean a thing if you're not living. Doing things so others will approve doesn't make you successful or even happy. You have to be yourself, do for yourself. You only have to please yourself. Lizzy always did things to get her father's approval without thinking if it was what she wanted. Always played by his rules. Until this men's line launch. She needed a man to represent their line. Trouble was all the "appropriate" ones wanted nothing to do with it. In her desperation she finds Jimmy in a run down bar in the middle of a bar brawl. For once she went outside the box and took a chance. To hell with her father's idea of what was the right thing to do and the right person to use. She took a chance. Jimmy could not be any further that what her father would have found acceptable. To say Jimmy was the total opposite of their world would be an understatement. Could she pull this off and make him the perfect man. But would she also realize that he was perfect in his own way beneath the rough exterior. And would she fall in love with him and learn to live and not only exist?

From the first word to the last this story will have you glued to every word. The changes both of these characters make is what makes this story so special. Sometimes change isn't good but better to learn from our mistakes than to exist and ignore what is around us. Be your own person and be happy that is what life is about. Not pleasing others and forgetting who you really are.

Beautiful heiress turns sexy daredevil into a perfect man, that’s the premise of this new book from Katy Evans.
A enjoyable read with some angst, a little heat, witty dialogue and a decent plot. I felt the ending was a little rushed but overall a good read.

Ugh, is is a hard review for me to write because I loved Real so much! Million Dollar Devil unfortunately just didn't do it for me at all. I didn't feel any connection to the story or characters, or even really between the characters. Lizzie was horrible; she was condescending and rude, and oddly spineless for a corporate executive. I found Jimmy off putting. I couldn't get invested in the outcome at all. Sadly, this was not a winner for me.

Lizzy (Elizabeth) is just trying to please her dad. She could be next in line to be CEO of the family business. All she has to do is find the next face of the company. So when she happens upon Jimmy (soon to be James) - a daredevil YouTube star, she thinks she may have a winner. All she has to do is change everything about him.

I got giddy every time Jimmy showed up. Sure James was hot, but Jimmy was flirty, sexy, persistent and all in. Taking care of his little brother Charlie is his number one priority, so when Elizabeth Banks approaches him about a job that will have a huge payday, he figures what can it hurt. Plus his attraction to the gorgeous Elizabeth, who he calls Lizzy, didn't hurt.

It's been a while since I've read a Katy Evan's book and I don't know why because I love her way of weaving a story. I couldn't put the book down and I can't wait for the next installment in the Million Dollar Series.

3.75 Devil stars. Although the beginning was a bit slow to me, this opposites attract storyline did finally hook me and overall I enjoyed the read. The chemistry between James and Lizzy is palpable and their banter flirty. It’s definitely worth the read.
