Turns out this is book 13!
I wouldn't really recommend reading this book my way - coming in at the very end of the series, but if you have been following the story, then the finale is satisfying.

Thank you to NetGalley, Little, Brown Book Group UK and Darynda Jones for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Well what can I say about this final book in the series ?? It is superb - a perfect ending to a great series .
The Author has managed to maintain such a high standard throughout - that many others series cannot .

Charley returns from her hell dimension much sooner than expected ….. in fact what was 100years to her was only a matter of days on earth . She finds that matters have gone from bad to worse - seriously bad things are happening which can only lead to a major catastrophe for earth .
As always, what makes the book so enjoyable are the interactions and the laugh out loud dialogue between Charley and her crew. Despite the seriousness of the situation, there are plenty of incidences and inane conversations/ramblings from Charley...…. still naming her body parts to say the least . She and Reyes are obviously happy to be reunited and that leads to some delicious moments between those two.
Watch out for a totally unexpected but beautiful sacrifice at the end - it broke my heart but gave me hope that all is not lost .

This book ties up a lot of plot lines left hanging in previous books but leave us with new ones ……. which I hope will be resolved in a new series featuring Beep and this that survive this book ..

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Turns out this is book 13! And I haven't read the previous ones - but Darynda Jones scatters enough details in the storyline to enable me not to have read the previous 12.. just as well as 12 would have been rather too many.
In many ways I wish had found this series before the finale (although the author cleverly permits there to be enough hints that a new series will be able to link into this one in due course). I enjoyed reading this even if I was a trifle confused at times - well I would be if I was picking up the storylines of 12 previous books and integrating them into this one! But I managed enough to work out what was happening, and who most of the characters were, and what their relationships were, and what their 'powers' were to make sense of this book.
So, I wouldn't really recommend reading this book my way - coming in at the very end of the series, but if you have been following the story, then the finale is satisfying. And only 13 people died. Which for an apocalyptic storyline was excellent lack of bloodshed!
Oh, and I loved the T-Shirt lines about coffee - I'm a coffee addict myself - but please - just try and drink it black (no sugar) - then you'll actually taste the coffee.. and understand that it can be just like wine in its bouquet, after flavours, etc ec.

Summoned to Thirteenth Grave is a perfect ending to a perfect series.

Reading Summoned to Thirteenth Grace time was spent highlighting quotes I loved. Charley is at her witty best in Summoned to Thirteenth Grave

These are my favourite T-Shirt/ Meme quotes.

"Patience: That thing you have when there are too many Witnesses."

"Coffee helps me maintain my "never killed anyone streak."

"I'm not sure I can physically handle much more of this "getting out of bed" nonsense."
This is the last book in the series I want to make sure that I don't spoil anything. All I will say is this book has the whole gang. We find out some secrets, some main blowing secrets. They will be laughs, drama and sexy time. The plot has twists that keep you hooked and some that will make you double-check what you have just read.

This is the last book in the Charley Davidson series and I didn’t even realise the end was coming so soon for this series.
I guess I just expected Darynda Jones to keep coming up with fantastic stories for Charley and Reyes to be in.
I’ve heard there will be a spin off series about Beep and her battles with the supernatural so I have that to look forward to.
I haven’t given anything away as I haven’t said if Charley and Reyes are gone, so don’t tell me off!
This is a great story, as always, and after the end of book 12 I did wonder how Charley would find her way back.
In this book there is evil in the centre of Alberque and Charley and co need to work out how to stop it. The demons are infecting members of the public so the whole place is under quarantine.
Charley has to find out what happened when her mum died and is led down some very dark paths to find out.
There’s also a little boy whose story will break your heart.
Plus Rocket has an interesting meeting with someone.
I won’t say any more I don’t want to spoil it, but if you’re a fan of this series, you’ll love this book.
Thanks to Piatkus and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

It feels like I've been waiting for this book forever, and it did not disappoint. The series has been building to this huge, epic showdown and Darynda Jones 100% delivers with the usual irreverence, humour and bittersweet moments that I've come to know and love from the Charley Davidson cohort.

Charley returns from her hell dimension unchanged and unfazed, but the same can't be said for Earth, where some seriously bad things are happening. There are some major reveals in this final installment, and a lot of big questions are answered - with some loose ends left unraveled, which gives me hope for a spin-off book/series...

As always, what makes the book so enjoyable are the interactions and hilarious dialogue between Charley and her crew. Despite the seriousness of a literal hell-on-earth situation, there are plenty of laugh-out-loud incidences and inane conversations/ramblings from Charley. She and Reyes are obviously happy to be reunited and that obviously means some delicious moments between those two.

Because I'm in denial about the series ending, and because it's so addictive, I'm currently re-reading the series for the billionth time and I can't imagine ever getting sick of reading the books...

Thanks so NetGalley and Little, Brown for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

I discovered this series a couple of months ago and binge read. I loved the previous books and I loved this one.
This is a wonderful series and this was a wonderful ending.
I hope somehow that there will be further books, in any case this was a very pleasant read.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to Little, Brown Book Group UK and Netgalley for this ARC

I admit to being 100% biased on this but I love Charley Davidson and adore Darynda Jones's writing. It is bittersweet saying goodbye to such a favourite character and I loved this but had tears at end as I didn't want it to. But I'm happy for this to end on a high than carry on with lesser material as some series do. Thank you Darynda for the journey, the highs and lows and for two main characters I will love forever

You just get the wonderful feeling of love, family and friendship which Charley appreciates in her life above all when she is brought out of the dark into the light of the world. Or as Cookie understands it “So you were cast off this plane into Disneyland?” You will smile at Charley been able to have a conversation and still try to help her dead people in the same breath. Charley who is the Grim Reaper a beacon of light to souls who have not yet traveled through to the other side. Who has become a major coffee drinker to make her plans. Will one finally work? The biggest battle of all is coming is the ultimate sacrifice demanded? This is the story you have been anticipating since the beginning but hopefully not the end! Unmissable.
I was given an ARC of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

It's the end of the road for Charley,Reese and this series of books and what a way to wrap up this endlessly entertaining series.
There's sex, more sex, oh, and more sex as well as a mysterious epidemic that seems to originate from Charley's old apartment. As well as saving the world from an imminent hell invasion, making sure Beep is safe and solving the 10 year old case of a missing teenager, Charley discovers more about her family, says good bye to some dear friends, drinks several gallons of coffee and negotiates successfully with God. It's a great ending to a much loved series that never takes itself too seriously, plus, I think there's a nice set up for a spin off series in the future. Fingers crossed.

My thanks go to the publishers and Net Galley for an advanced copy in return for an honest review.
