An interesting series of books. You definitely need to read them in order and each book continues directly from the previous. It reads as 1 continuous book. The characters are well done, I particularly like Melody. It's an urban fantasy that should do well. #BloodMagicSeries #NetGalley

Fast paced Urban Fantasy. Aria is a likeable heroine with enough flaws to make you really connect with her. She's snarky and fierce but also insecure, often impulsive, and has a deep fear of harming those she cares about so she often hides within her own forced isolation.
The books read more like full length serials than novels but thats entirely okay since there are 3 more books to come after this. All is all, the story is unique, delivers on the must haves for the Urban Fantasy genre, and provides a realistic and likeable heroine to root for.

**I received a copy free from Netgalley for an honest review. **

For fans of the Kate Daniels series, this book will feel familiar. But, in a good way. I devoured this in a day, and am already looking forward to the next ones in the series. Though similar to KD, the heroine, Aria Naveed is an orphaned merc, part Persian and magically inclined, she’s not from an epic bloodline, and can’t do something more just because of who she is. Like Kate, she’s a badass because she trains her ass off. But unlike Kate’s world, there’s no government or organizations to speak of. So, witches dislike shifters, who dislike vampires and most ignore humans and psykers. It’s all one big cranky thing, and mercs behave like paid cops to fix certain things. In this, Aria unravels something bigger than a missing kid and ends up falling down the political rabbit hole, with Pack Alpha, Queen of Vampires and head of the Witches. This book is smart, snarky, and fun to read.
